Their management Detante is nothing but clueless and short tempered. I couldnt even become a member with having valid proof of ID because they wanted to keep my passport in a bin with 50 other IDs at the front desk. Even after asking to sign up and be a member to avoid having to keep my ID for the free trial.. they refused me a service and refused to even allow me to join I noticed they have a side door entrance for members and so the front desk is solely for new guest the second I entered I was ignored, no eye contact, no friendly face it was rude and obnoxious and all I did was stand there and want to sign up Im a new mom with a time crunch to attend to my baby. I just wanted to start the only gym near me.. I was willing to pay, but I wasnt willing to leave my government identification at a front desk with various other IDs like if I was a felon? Why did the management to this establishment not just write down my information and sign me up like every other gym Ive been to??? So many questions. Such a shameReview from Abel Z

I am not one to post negative reviews but this is something I believe no one should ever have to experience. I joined Amped Gym at the Doral location during Nov 2021 when they first opened. I’ve been training at various gyms for at least 30 years so consider myself an experienced person with knowledge of gym etiquette. This past week I noticed there was two separate $50.00 charges on my statement rom Amped Gym. When I called to inquire about these charges, I was surprised & outraged when I was told that the charges were assessed for allegedly not re-racking the weights on two separate stations. I was told they have me on video. I always re-rack my weights when using the machines. The only time I wouldn’t re-rack after using the weights is when someone is waiting to use a machine that I was using & they asked me leave the weights on. At the time I train (4:30am) none of weights are ever in their proper place, dumbbells are scattered all over the gym & it is hard to find a matching set. In addition, machines are usually stacked with weights & not put away. The interesting fact is that there were no verbal or written warnings signs about this new rule (charging $50.00 for not re-racking weights) posted anywhere leading up to my last gym workout. My written agreement does not have a clause that states I will incur a $50.00 re-racking fee. I have never received a written notice in the mail or via email of this new rule change even if the initial agreement says they can modify the rules at any time. I spoke manager at the Doral location on the phone. He was rude & dismissive regarding my concerns above. The fact that I was charged $100.00 (almost a year’s worth of mem fees) in 1 day just shows what kind of an organization this is. The bottom line is Amped Gym treats their customers like shady individuals and second class citizens. It’s unethical to try to steal people’s money and time to contest these charges. People should be aware before they do business with them.Review from William S

BEWARE! If you sign up for anything other than a regular gym membership, you will end up paying EXTRA FEES and PENALTIES...perhaps to the tune of HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS!I signed up for 6 months of personal training, finished it and when I tried to cancel before the next billing they told me that since it was under 30 days I would be billed another $400 dollars and given 10 sessions?!I finished my commitment and wanted to cancel before the next auto billing...seems easy enough right?WRONG!I am already behind on sessions that I have paid for and I don't want another 10. I also don't see anything about their 30-day prior cancellation policy on my initial agreement. I pointed that out to the front desk and they just didn't care. The front desk and those that work there seem more concerned about keeping their jobs and hitting sales quotas than addressing the predatory practices that come from upper management. They kept referring to upper management and blaming it on them while not giving me any way to speak to them except a generic email.Review from Tammy B

I am beyond floored at the lack of professionalism at this gym. In life, you get what you pay for. Since September 2022 at Doral, I have tried to cancel, sending a certified letter to this gym, for which I have documentation they received. They never acknowledged the cancellation. They do not respond to anything in writing. I received a verbal confirmation they would downgrade me from the manager and of course he did not. I was charged $390 and $24.95 after canceling in writing. I received an apology by text, that they would refund my $390 and of course they never contacted me. I was also charged $70/month for a ******************************* that I could never use. It's a scam to offer a service and not have the staff available to render the service. So I paid $140 for absolutely nothing. I have about 12 training sessions remaining and they are paid for and I rather lose them than continue to patronize a place that does not honor their own policies.Several times I went to the gym and could not enter because they didn't properly charge the card on file. Literally for several months in a row, I had to go to the manager's desk and say I could not get in again, please charge my card on file. They said it was fixed and it wasn't. Imagine going to the gym 3x and you cannot get in, because someone did not set up the payments correctly. This has been the worst gym experience ever. The saving ***** is my trainer, she is AMAZING! They are friendly and everyone speaks to you, but managing billing is a nightmare. I need proper documentation for any cancel, downgrade, or change to my account. You cannot say you will process a change and don't and charge me the full price when you said you would downgrade me (see why I ask for things in writing??). It's unethical to charge someone who followed your written agreement. I have contacted my credit card and a lawyer because they don't follow their own agreement. Beware signing up at this gym if you are paying more than the $9.99 fee!Review from Amanda S.

I have been going to the Amped Facility in Doral for months now, signing up was very easy and fast i was told my membership included a guest as per I choose to pay for this option, I mostly come to the gym by myself but sometimes i have brought a friend or my cousin(only one at a time ), as again I know i requested the companion membership, i never use the front door as I'm an introvert and greeting estrangers isn't my favorite thing to do, I today got up at 4:30 am as I've been doing this entire month got to the gym by 5:30 and to my surprise i could not access it, called costumer service etc. for a good 30 to 40 min i was trying to get in touch with someone that could help me so i could have my workout done before going to work, as a result an agent told me i had to call the Amped Doral front desk as my Acc had been CANCELED BY ONE OF THE ASSOCIATES AT THE FACILITY, i was very surprised, i went straight to my payment history looking for maybe a none payment notice, but nothing my payments were up to date and everything was fine, I later from my job called the Doral Facility and a lady told me in fact my acc was canceled and there was nothing she could do to help due to that i had brougt a guest by the back door , i asked her if could then pay the subscription all over and she said no since her two managers were the ones who canceled it, i took my lunch break to go talk to the manager in person, i explained her i never got a notice that i wasnt bringing a guest in (sporadically )not following the right process of having him/her walk through the front door, she then stated she sent me emails** which didn't come form Amped instead they were coming from camio** A WORD I NEVER RECOGNIZED THEREFORE NEVER SAW, i after it ask if i could then go to another facility and she said no, that i had to wait 6 month to enter any Amped gym becasue she will put a note so every facility was aware, I find this specific situation extremily wrong managed, and I need my Acc back.Review from Maritza L

I signed up at the location in ************** for physical training , and I was never told about a cancellation fee , they claim that it was on the contract that I signed , which they just tell you lies as you sign and forget to tell you that part , the cancellation fee is $300 , so if you have an emergency and cannot continue with your training then you are stuck paying for a year !! I try to speak to several of managers and they dont call you back and then when they do they say they called but dont leave a voicemail and fi lay when I spoke to one he was super nasty with me and told me that I am stuck and that I should have known about the fee and should have read the contract after I came home . Their policies are horrible , gym is not even clean and theres garbage in the floors at times , I am very disappointed with this Gym , and my daughter was also not told about the fee , neither was her boyfriend , so that tells me that they are just scamming people and once you sign you are stuck paying the fee for a year I pay $140 a month and can barely go for the sessions because of the time and my job . Please be aware !
