This company screwed my wife and I signed us up for a lawyer we didn't want without our knowledge all we needed was an estimate for our roof and now we apparently owe almost 13k for something we never agreed to. ********, we have filed multiple complaints. Do not use them do not trust themReview from Sam A

BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE!! Please do your research and go with a company that’s for there customers and no to just make a dollar!! I only put one star because I can’t put 0. If you want to be lied to taken advantage of and just flat out screwed over, this is your company! After getting my roof replaced of which the quality was absolutely horrible. Even had a roofer stop by to point out how bad it looked. I have since then received an invoice that was double what so called scope of loss was to replace my roof. So now because my insurance company refuses to pay because they a fraud, they are treating to put a lien on my house. Absolute disgrace of human beings, with 0 morals or ethics. PLEASE BEWARE AND DO YOUR RESEARCH.Review from Tammy H

DON'T USE THEM! Look them up on BBB they have a D+ rating!! A Florida Roof Specialists (FRS) employee showed up at our door, cold call, encouraging us to let them take a look at our roof due to a recent storm in the area. We did. They said that we had damage and that they could put a new roof on for us for only our deductible. The employee assured us that almost ALWAYS the insurance company pays 100% less the deductible AND if they didn't they had an attorney that would represent us to go after the insurance company. The employee assured US we would pay zero dollars after the deductible. We proceeded with FRS, which was a big mistake. The invoices to the insurance company were within line until the last invoice, which was VERY high. The insurance company rejected approx $4700 of the last invoice. We were contacted by FRS to reach out to our insurance company, which we did, and they refused to pay any additional funds. We were then contacted by our original *** employee encouraging us to meet with the attorney they suggested. By that point we had done our research and found that FRS is a habitual offender of this type of scam and had numerous liens on homeowners for the exact same issue as ours. If you don't do as they suggest and disagree with the final invoice (as our insurance company did) they WILL file a lien. FRS then filed a lien on our house. We were contacted again by FRS to use the attorney they suggested. We refused since learning that this was a scam FRS uses to milk the insurance companies. FRS's attorney has now sent us a letter they will sue if we don't pay. We will now have to make payments to the attorney since we do not have those kinds of funds. This type of business practice is costing all of the taxpayers money. We learned our ****** the hard way.Don't use Florida Roof Specialists and don't let them represent you to the insurance company...they will use this against you.Review from Regina V

This company quoted me for a new roof and then after they put the new roof on they added $6000 added cost to my roof when I submitted their claim to my insurance company it was denied because my insurance company said the roof wasnt worth an extra $6000. This company is a scam. They put a lien on my house and have sent me a certified letter from the lawyer setting that theyre going to sell my house on the steps of the courthouse in the next five days if I do not give them an extra $7000. This has been the worst mistake of our Lives. To anyone thinking of using this company is a scam read all their reviews everyone says the same thing.Review from Amy B

There was literally only one person who I even wanted to talk to from this company. The worst, sleeziest company Ive ever worked with. They just want to see what they can get away with. Im going for my home inspection ************** tried to pull fast ones on me. My husband is in construction & took him for an idiot. By law, workers who are on a surface above 4:12 pitch have to be harnessed and tied off, and they tried to tell me that that is false. I wish I wouldve called OSHA the day they did my roof. They stated that if a supervisor was present, they didnt need to be tied off which is FALSE.They did our roof wrong, and even with picture proof, they tried to tell us its done correctly. Again, my husband is in construction. He works with all of these trades.I completely understand that in our contract, it states that they are not responsible for any damages done to our gutters, but we SPECIFICALLY told them not to take them off and they proceeded to do it anyway, and threw them down on the ground and damaged them. In this case, they should 110% be responsible as the gutters were still screwed on under neath the drip edge every ********************************************************************** tact. If they needed to be taken down and put back up, they shouldnt have ripped them off like that.Even the DUMPSTER owner who dropped off and picked up our dumpster told us that they should be eating the price for our gutters.Again. My husband is in construction and Im working on my home inspection license, we are NOT idiots. I would NOT recommend this company to anyone and if I could, Id give them a 0 star rating. Their lack of communication is also ridiculous. And theyre a complete and total RIP OFF. Theyre a sad excuse for a company and just trying to cover their ***** and not take responsibility for their mistakes.Review from Jose R

Warning do not use this company. They will add money to job after work is done and after insurance company agreed to a price. They will also tell you that they will not put a lein on your home, but they will for money owed that insurance company will not pay for. I'm in law suit with this corrupt company now. Also they put a lawsuit on me and the job isn't completed yet. I've tried to contact them to let them know and they will not return my calls.Review from Ron S

FRS is a joke, I have been in the Construction field for 30 years. Just like all the other reviews you read, get you to sign for one price and at the end the price more than doubles! I understand that things come up when you start uncovering things and there will be some additional charges. But not 10,880.00 dollars worth. Like everyone else my insurance company paid the original bill will not pay this because FRS can’t even break down what all these costs were for. I would tell anyone I knew if they asked me who I used on my roof I would tell them but do not make the same mistake I did. They are the worst contractor I have ever dealt in my life!!! One star is to much for them!Review from Marc H

Stay away from this company as they will take advantage of you. They price ***** and hide their true intentions on what they will actually charge you for the services they provide. They get you to sign up telling you that they will do the work as authorized by your insurance company but in reality, they do not supply you with an estimate until the work is done. At that time, you will find out the cost will almost be 100% more than authorized by your insurance company and if you do not pay, they will place a lien on your property. This type of company gives a bad name for the roofing industry, and it is entirely a scam operation There is never any communication from these people. They are a joke, and they want us to believe that they are above board. They are far from that so beware of doing business with them. They have the last time I looked had 63 complaints filed against them with the Attorney General of Florida.Review from Karen S

It has been since April 2024 waiting to get a new roof from this company. Back and forth calls and no one has a clue what they are doing. Get a different person everytime. They dont respond to emails and never call me back. I have a check that they have for 25k and cant get them to send it to mortgage company, Do they not care about people? I am a kidney transplant survivor and I dont need this stress in my life. I only wanted my roof replaced, 3 other conspiracy es are around 15k and theres will cost me 28k for a 1500 square ft home. Is there not any consumer protection anymore?Florida Roof Specialists, Inc. Response

********************,Looks like you had an attorney involved in your Insurance Settlement and you have both reached a settlement in the amount of $30,525.00 and we wanted very much to do you roof but you decided not to move forward with getting your roof done by us. All we asked for is to pay your cancellation fee.Review from Lori B

I was approached by the salesman, and given a quote. Insurance approved the quote. The work was done and then a month later they came back with a quote that was double the amount of the quote. I have been wrapped up in an legal battle with them now for over a year. They are liars and dishonest. Do not under any circumstances do business with them. The sales person I dealt with was *** Clearwater (ironic last name, since I am in **********, **). I have worked in construction for more than 11 years and never is a quote double the amount of the original quote. Maybe a few grand different, but nothing like this. DO NOT do work with them, no matter what.Florida Roof Specialists, Inc. Response

The contract with Florida Roof Specialists (FRS) and ******************** states It is agreed upon the amount of the contract shall be based on the amount equal to full replacement cost value on the insurance scope loss including deductible and all upgrades, supplements, extra charges and/or settlements unless otherwise noted. As a State of Florida Licensed Contractor, FRS is under certain obligations to the Federal, State, County/local governments and municipalities laws and/or codes along with Floridas Manufacturer Product Approval requirements and Manufacturers Installation Instructions. Insurance companies/adjusters often do not include required Florida Building Code items that are required but, nonetheless, must be performed or installed for inspection purposes. The roof project (per the approved insurance scope) missed many required items which were included in a final as-built Xactimate estimate/supplemental invoice to the insurance company. The insurance company, by way of the homeowner, was invoiced for a supplemental payment of those items not provided for in the approved insurance scope. In accordance with FL Law, a lien was placed on the property until the supplement payment can be resolved with the insurance company (which has taken up to a year in some cases). It appears you hired an attorney on this file and settled it and we are currently waiting on a settlement check from you.
