Victory offered us a lifetime membership with monthly payments. When we accepted the offer, they told us it had to be paid in full, that it was not monthly payments. They acknowledge the wording was confusing, and they could see how someone would think that its monthly payments. It is not confusing, its quite clear that they offered monthly payments. We have proof of their text offer (photo attached) that spells out the offer that we agreed to. We would like the offer honored as written with monthly payments. We are not trying to get anything free or rip anybody off. We just want to have the offer we were given honored.Initial Complaint

I join victory martial art as a free trail I receive 2 weeks free and then they had a Mothers Day promotion I got excited for the kids to get the free class because it was giving as a gift and we also purchased a Groupon . When I went they stated you put the deposit down and if you decided to cancel let us know the kids went for a few free classes while my deposit was down I was going throw a hard time so I put my first payment to September which would offically be the end of their so call free class. I cancel in august because *** been calling back and forth leaving message waiting for call back because the person who I signed up with stated they would be able to cancel if I do it before the class and I did and they lied stating they need to keep 200 for FREE. Class that we received from the other victory , they lied and show all the free classes we took and never once investigated to see that those was free classes because they did not want to give back my money I didnt even get to actually start the class and was scammed out of 200 dollars I report it to my bank and they lied stating it was free I have text I have documents and they still lie they should be out of business for stealing they constantly do it under they reviews they are lying and deceiving. Imagine going on a intent a free class signing up ask about the terms information was anytime before the actual class to be lied on stating the class wasnt free when in fact it was free I am very disappointed in this company and they need to do better and stop stealing I want my money backInitial Complaint

I have signed a month to month contract initially with Victory Martial Arts, located at: ***************************** ********, ** *****. There corporate office is the one at ******************************************************. My month to month was around 226.87$a month, I paid a total in fee's of $2041.83 I switched to a prepaid contract on 12/29/2023 for 7 months in an effort to save some money. I paid 1150$. I tried to cancel on 1/22/****. I knew I signed a contract but I also felt my child was losing interest in the class, and was more interested in other things. I asked the director *********************** if she would make an exception and return my money because we will not be returning back. I went through a lot of back of forth. *********************** tried to give me suggestions as to why my son may not be interested, even saying it is because of his age, or maybe he is wanting to please me, and he is torn in having fun and making me proud, basically a lot of reasons why I should stay. She also suggested I freeze the account and come back later, none of these things I wanted to do. I wanted to cancel the membership. Because I feel personally I already spent 2041$ previously in fee's and was paying a higher month to month, these guys out of good faith would do the right thing. Ultimately she said she had to check with their HQ and she did get back saying she would refund me a total of 250$. She added a cancellation fee of 150$, she also said she could only change it back to month to month at the regular rate which is the **** rate of 250$, so that is also higher than my initial month to month of 226,87$. Further more, she deducted two months as well and I am not sure how this was calculated, but she could only refund me 250$. I only attended two classes in January.Customer response

I cancelled my membership due to unforeseen circumstances and my son having to move to NC. I emailed Victory (Tenaya) informing them immediately. I sent over the necessary paperwork and asked if the fee of $180 could be applied to my cancellation seeing as how I had paid for a month he didn't even attend. The lady responded that she would email corporate and let me know by Monday. Days went by and she never responded. I was charged again another $180 and emailed her again asking if they could reverse the charge. Still nothing.Initial Complaint

This request is made to get assistance and also to make other parents aware of the practices that are being carried out at the Victory At Alamo Heights. I have reached out to the Alamo Heights office, and no one has responded to me in over three weeks. I signed up recently for the second-degree black belt program to now realize that it was a scam and a ploy to get money. Suddenly after signing up, the availability for testing became nonexistent. Instead of three months to the next belt, it changed to six months with zero explanation. I am also military and currently have orders which per our initial agreement with me signing up with the Alamo Heights victory was told that situation such as this they would release me from the contract also and give me a refund. I need to bring this to light as the last time victory at Alamo Heights overcharged me, I made at least three requests for the erroneous payments to be refunded to my account. No one at the facility did anything until I reached out to another entity for assistance. Why does it take three requests and waiting over three weeks for a response about my money, but they remember to reach out to you at least three months before your contract is up with them. Where is the business structure? Where is the communication, honesty, and respect that is supposed to be the pillars for victory martial arts as a whole? Where is it? Maybe that's just something they say to the enrollees because it sounds good and not something they live by themselves because it's not demonstrated in any way, shape, or form in regards to its members, specifically me. It seems that only when spoken publicly do they pay any attention in regards to providing what they state. This even goes as far as to equipment you pay for. It seems as if only when parents remind them publicly in the presence of other parents do they get the equipment that they pay for.Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 11, 2022/06/14) */ She was upset that he will miss the Black Belt Testing in June because he is out of town. We already informed the mom that we would extend his membership even if it ended so he would be able to achieve his rank. But once that email was sent we have not heard anything back since Consumer Response /* (3000, 13, 2022/06/24) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) No one has responded to any communication I have sent to Victory at Alamo Heights seeking resolution at the lowest level. This response also solidifies the view that this organization is a scam and a ploy to get money. I have not received any email in an attempt to get a resolution. I also mentioned that I am military and currently have orders which per our initial agreement with me signing up with the Alamo Heights victory was told that situation such as this they would release me from the contract also and give me a refund. This was ignored entirely in this response to the BBB. I say again, where are the communication, honesty, and respect that is supposed to be the pillars for victory martial arts as a whole? Where is it? Maybe that's just something they say to the enrollees because it sounds good and not something they live by themselves because it's not demonstrated in any way, shape, or form in regards to its members, specifically me
