I hired Done Rite Roofing to replace the tile roof on my home. The total price was $69,798.50 Deposit of $16,000 was given 10/16/23.Job started 3/22/24. Only 11 skids of new of tile were delivered from Eagle Manufacturers. I was told the remaining 14 skids of tile had been delivered early to Done Rite's yard and would be delivered in a couple of days. The remaining tile arrived, it was clearly not new tile. It had been repackaged, no labels, clearly weathered and with many broken tiles. The salesman *******************, swore in more than one conversation that they were new tiles that had been sitting in the Done Rite yard. I contacted the **************** and when pressed, they admitted that the tiles had been delivered to another job and loaded on the roof. The home owner was unable to use them due to HOA rules. Done Rite had them unloaded and re-palletzed and sent to their yard for months. My roof was already torn out and needed to be finished. I could not wait another 24 weeks for new tile. I told the office that if they were going to use old tile on my roof, I should have been informed and offered a discount for the used tile. I was told there would be NO discount. This was deceptive business practice and I was lied to about the condition of the tile.I refused to pay the remaining balance until we could come to an agreement. After some time, *********************************** of Done Rite offered a $1,000 discount for the used tile.A small discount for a job just under $70,000 was not acceptable.Photos attached 1. New tiles, labeled from manufacturer 2. Re packaged used tile 3. Close up of weathered tileBusiness response

The tiles were in fact at our warehouse and were there for less than 20 days as I advised ****************, I even showed him the original invoice and the bill we got when the tile loaders stored them at our warehouse. These tiles are in fact brand new they were never used. This roof looks amazing and **************** admits he cannot see the difference in the "used" tiles vs new tiles. Mr. has not given us the second draw as per contract. I have sent several emails as well as a claim of lien for non payment **************** has acted like a dead possum with no response at all. My final message was to offer a $ 1000 discount before I send to the attorney to start foreclosure procedures he owes us over $ 50K on this roof he has only paid us $16K for a roof that has passed final inspection and is absolutely stunning. This roof is now in legal proceedings so I am no longer in liberty to discuss this matter any further.Initial Complaint

I am writing to bring to your attention an issue we have encountered with the roofing of our home, which we purchased in August 2023.Recently, after a series of rainstorms, we discovered a leak in the roof. In our efforts to address this issue, we attempted to obtain information from the previous owner, who unfortunately, at 94 years old, did not possess the paperwork from the installation 8 years ago.Upon contacting several roofing companies for quotes, we were informed by them that Done Rite Roofing had performed the replacement work 8 years ago. According to the permits they uncovered, we should be covered under either a 10/20-year warranty. Consequently, we reached out to Done Rite Roofing to explore our warranty coverage.Initially, Done Rite Roofing indicated they had no record of the replacement work. However, they did acknowledge pulling a permit 8 years ago. Subsequently, after expressing our concerns, they informed us that the paperwork was found and that we only have a 7-year warranty. Nevertheless, upon further inquiry, they were unable to produce the paperwork, which raises suspicions regarding the accuracy of the warranty terms. The inconsistency in the information provided by Done Rite Roofing, coupled with the inability to produce the necessary documentation, has left us feeling uncertain about the warranty coverage and the integrity of the company's operations. We kindly request your assistance in resolving this matter promptly and transparently. We believe that clear communication and access to accurate documentation are essential in addressing this issue effectively.Thank you for your attention to this matter. We look forward to your prompt response and a satisfactory resolution.Business response

We have no records of a contract or any payments received for this roof. A permit was pulled in 2016 for a new roof. Back then DRR only did 5 year warranty's so it would not be covered not to mention looks like this customer is the 3rd owner of the home since our permit was pulled. We offered to give a competitive price on the repair but the homeowner declined. No one has any documentation proofing that we were indeed contracted or paid for the roof. Our system goes back 10 years and nothing comes up.Customer response

I am rejecting this response because:I spoke with Done Right and they did tell me they did do the repair but that I only had a 7 year warranty and was out f coverage. I am only the second owner and not the 3rd.
They cannot seem to get their lies staright and that is why I rejected any offers to get a quote.
Sincerely,

I apologize you are correct you are the second owner. There are no lies this company has been in business for 26 years and definitely not off lies. I have an entire new staff here and as the owner I am telling you there is zero records of any invoices, payments or work done to your roof so we would not know what the true warranty was. No one has any records so I am sure you understand why we would not fix something for free if there is no records of payment on this project. I apologizeInitial Complaint

I had a water stain that developed in my living room ceiling from a slow leak on my roof. I called multiple companies and Done Rite responded the quickest. They evaluated the issue and asked for $2800 up front to be paid by check. Unfortunately, my wife gave it to them. They didnt even schedule a definite day to do the job. Just took the check. Two days later the insurance company assessed the roof and said Done Rite did not see the real problem. They communicated and Done Rite came back and said it will be another $2800 to fix it. The next week they came and fixed it. I had painters come to apply primer and paint the 20ft high ceiling and they said my ceiling was still wet. I called Done Rite to come back and assess and they did. They said they saw the problem and fixed it. Two weeks later we had our first bad rain and the same corner of my ceiling gave way to water gushing down my wall and into my living room! This was after they went on my roof twice. Now I had an active water leak in my house. Paint on my wall bubbled up with water. I called them immediately. The girl answered the phone and said someone will call me back. That was a Monday morning. I called Tuesday during my lunch break and was told the samesomeone will call me. Ive called daily the rest of the week and finally had another company fix the roof. Now I have damage the insurance company estimates over $3000 due to further painting and work that needs to be done to the ceiling and wall. Not only did Done Rite take $5600 to do a job they didnt do Rite they didnt even have the decency to respond to people who had an active leak in their living room in the same exact area they claim they fixed, twice! I went from a slow leak to an active leak causing more damage after their work on my roof. I would never ever recommend this company to do any work on your house. *** learned my ****** and am posting this so others dont make the same mistake.Business response

Done Rite Roofing charged an outlandish fee for work they DID NOT DO. The charge was $1,200. to remove cracked and damaged stucco from the chimney of my house that was causing water to seep into the interior. They sent the bill stating the job had been finished but unbeknownst to them, I watched their employee do the entire repair and I have construction knowledge and experience. He did not remove any stucco, which is significant; he merely globbed on a thin coat of Thin-set type material on two sides of the chimney from the juncture of the roof and the chimney; about 6- 8 high, and 5 linear feet long.It took him less than 30 minutes to do the repair and about $1.25 for materials. He didnt use a bonding agent, which gives concern about the repairs longevity. Quikrete cost is $5.97 for an 80 pound bag and this job only required about 15 pounds or less of material. When I called the office for an explanation, they wouldnt talk to me about the repair or return my calls when I left messages. I tried to discuss the matter with them on several occasions. I told the secretary that they had not performed the services that were agreed to in the contract, and without any explanation, she sent an email with an attached bill reducing the amount owed to $800. from $1,200. That was an hourly rate of $2,398.75 per hour, which is excessive, and worst of all, they never removed any stucco. This was an in-and-out quick fix by an unskilled laborer. The price charged for this service was a rip-off to begin with but the fact that they did not perform the service is FRAUD.Business response

Mr. ****** the office to express he was not happy that we were not at the jobsite long enough to justify our bid that he signed prior to ** showing up., therefore we reduced it by $ 400. Unfortunately you are paying for more than materials, you are paying for a expert to come out and do the repair as well as fuel, workers comp, insurances etc. I am assuming we stopped the leak. Customer still has a balance due at the moment or the warranty will not be valid.Customer response

Complaint: 20486006
I am rejecting this response because:My biggest complaint and problem is not just the amount of time spent at the job site, albeit $1,200. for 30 minutes of work performed by a handyman type of laborer is disproportionate to the services rendered. My major issue is that the agreed-upon bid presented to me stated that Done Rite would remove and replace deteriorating stucco, which they DID NOT do. The removal and replacement of stucco was in essence why the bid was so high, supposedly.
They voided the agreement when they did not perform to the dictates of the bid, and declared the job complete, demanding full payment for services rendered. They knew they had not performed the work described in the bid. Upon challenging the bill, without explanation, or communication with me, they immediately reduced it via email from $1,200. to $800. and refuses to talk to me about the bill and wont return my phone calls.
I also am concerned that the repair performed will not stop the leak but only time will tell, as not using a bonding agent on a repair such as this provides a weak link for future deterioration.
Sincerely,

Complaint: 20486006
I am rejecting this response because:They have not spoken to me regarding this matter. I leave messages and they don't return my calls. I have spoken to two other companies that do repairs and they both said that they did not repair the damaged stucco properly. A licensed, certified and reputable stucco company with over 50 years of experience doing stucco installation and repairs said that what they did was a scam and I need to have the job done right by removing the damaged stucco and replacing it properly and the entire job would cost $500.
Sincerely,

In 2016 we had Done Rite Roofing do repairs to the flat roof on our house. When they did the flat roof repairs they told us they also had to do the tie in areas along the flat roof.We haven't had any issues with the flat roof but we have had issues with leaking coming from the tie in areas.2 months ago DJ from Done Rite came and inspected the roof. He told us they would redo the tie in area of the **** and everything would be covered since we were still under the 10 year warranty. He told me not to worry that they stand behind their work.A couple weeks later I received a blank estimate for the work. I gave Done Rite a call and then they sent me a new estimate this time wanting $600.00 for work that I was told was covered under the warranty. In September I talked with ********************************* in Done Rite's warranty department and she said she would need to discuss this with the owner and the owner would call me back.I never received a call back.I left several messages with Done Rite since then and haven't received a call back.Business response

Spoke to customer on 11/29, will re-do shingle valley at no charge. Explained to this customer 4 years ago that his shingle roof is 16 years old and was in bad shape then. The roof is now 4 years old and in extremely bad condition. Explained again to customer and told him we will re-do that area for the last time with no warranty he was not happy but understood. He is just simply putting a bandaid on a wound that will not heal
