I hesitate to file a BBB compaint, but after not receiving any response from Suncoast Introductions I think I have no choice. I paid $6,000 to Suncoast about one year ago, after my friends suggested a matchmaker might be the optimum way to meet possible dating connections. The matchmakers I met with originally were great, but soon thereafter they were gone and someone else became my matchmaker. They did not inform me that the company was bought by another matchmaking company. I was very specific about my requirements and I was hopeful I would find a match, especially after the suicide of my husband four years ago. I had one in-person date that on paper seemed okay, but clearly was not at all what I had hoped. So, I was patient and thought the next one might be better. They were going to introduce me to a man who was not divorced, which I rejected. Then, another they begged to meet, even though he was clearly not at all within my parameters. So, I contacted Suncoast and never heard back from my matchmaker. Finally I sent an email to someone higher up in the organization and finally he left a message, however, when I called him back at least three times, there was no response. I know matchmaking is a process and often imperfect, but this business is an absolute sham and is not what it appears to be on paper and online. So, I would like a partial refund, since I have no confidence in the process or the matchmakers at this point. I'm sorry to have to report them, but after I read the myriad complaints against Suncoast, I realized I might have been taken advantage of as well.

We sincerely apologize for any lack of communication **************** has experienced. Our clients are valued and important, and we will reach out to her immediately so that we can work with her to resolve this concern.

Regarding the introductions we've provided to her, we will agree that she has not received as many introductions as we hope to see at this point in her membership, and apologize for this. However, the introductions that we have provided have been quality introductions. Her first introduction was highly educated, made a great living, active, local, and relationship-minded. In the post-date feedback given, she simply said he was a nice guy but not for her.

Her second introduction was with another educated man, successful, active, and attractive. After researching this match, **************** elected not to meet him. As the Important Facts form she signed states, we suggest our clients keep initial phone conversations brief, focusing less on small talk and more on logistics.  We also strongly encourage our clients to try not to judge their date based on the phone call, alone. Wait until the date to see how things go in person. However, we cannot control the way our client uses their membership.

Her third introduction was not formally educated but he was extremely successful, active, ambitious, and local. She did not meet this introduction either.

******************** membership is not eligible for cancellation or refund. We would like the opportunity to communicate with her to discover a solution to her concerns and set her membership on the right path.

I signed up for the service but then had to leave the area to take care of my mother who developed dementia. I explained the situation and they told me my contract was cancelled and I didn't owe anything. Then they sent my account to a collections agency.

I see a note where we offered to write off her balance due.  I have reached out to the collection agency and had them write off the debt.

I paid Suncoast ,****$ after being told that there were soooo many men in my area that I would be introduced to. ****************** told me that she was so excited for me and that once the background check was done, I would be sent matches. From January 12, 2022 to current, I have been sent just one man that met my criteria. I ask for a man that lives here full time and was within a certain age bracket and wasnt an alcoholic. I tried to get a refund and they would not give me anything back. Roughly, it is 500$ a match. Two women in management called me and both said they would look for a man for me as far away as 100 miles. **** within the hundred miles, there were none! One man sent me a pic in his underwear! They said they wouldnt count him. I paid for 14 introductions, and I met 2! One was 90 miles away and didnt fit my criteria and another was here only half the year and lived up north the other half. They both told me they were going through the same situation and with the exception of me, the women didnt fit their criteria. Its a scam and many states the same. They are selling something that they dont have and especially for a woman. There arent nearly enough men and it makes it such a disappointment along with knowing you are being outright scammed. ***** let me believe she was my matchmaker knowing she wouldnt be. My matchmaker works in ******** and hasnt even met me!!!!The women that told me they would help find me someone disappeared. ***** wouldnt answer my calls and she does the interviewing of the people to see if they are a good fit. Haha She charged everyone different prices. There are three packages and one guy paid *****, another ***** and another ***** and I paid 7,000well ****. This business, which goes by different names throughout *****************, should not be in business! Its fraudulent inducement.,

We're sorry to hear that ****************** has yet to find success through her membership.  She purchased a membership that entitles her to twelve introductions.  She has received eight so far.  We emphasize that one of the most important factors for our customers to be successful is to meet each introduction face-to-face in a public place.  We ask our clients not to prejudge people by phone.  She has not met four of her introductions.  In addition, she received her last introduction on 8/3 and we have not received feedback on that introduction yet.  ********************** membership is not eligible for any refund at this point.  However, we will continue working on her behalf until we have met all of our contractual obligations.

    Complaint: 20487015

I am rejecting this response because:

Here is my agreement with Sun Coast Introductions.

As you can see, its for 12 & 2, which was the number at the time for paying that day the price of 6995$.  It was the middle package and ****************** was the person I met with for an hour and a half. We discussed the process and she led me to believe she would be my matchmaker during the process.

She claimed there were thousands in the Naples area, and I would have so many potential matches to meet.

The first match was an uneducated guy who stated he wrecked his ****** when he was drunk and was recovering from his injuries and wanted to meet for drinks and I declined meeting him. I had told ***** my biggest must have was a nonalcoholic.

The second one, ****, sent me a pic of his p**** and lived in an RV park traveling around the east coast. I had ask for a full time resident.

The third one chose not to meet me because he recognized me from dating site and said he wasnt attracted to me. His name was *************************.

The next  was a never married guy that was 60, and I had states someone who had been married before. He was stating that he was renting and had never owned a condo or home before and he said going for appetizers would be expensive if went out on 5th Avenue! He babbled and called over and over and I chose not to meet this guy.

The next guy was ****. I met him for lunch and he was a nice guy but only lived here half the year. He claimed he was very disappointed with the company and I was the only match he had met that he was happy with.

The next guy they sent me was ***********************. He was the second guy I chose to meet and we had appetizers at Trulucks. He claimed he was married for one night and his wife had passed during the night in Vegas where they got married. He was selling all her jewelry, including a Rolex watch and lots of diamond jewelry in stores in naples. He lived in ***********, not Naples, and talked about buying a condo in Naples but the biggest thing was his story of his wife passing and the autopsy and the fact that he clearly was dishonest. He also showed me his receipt for the Sun Coast agreement. ***** allowed him to pay 2,000$! Even if his was the first package out of the three, she told me 4,999!

The next guy was ***********************. He uses medical marijuana but uses it all day and is very heavy and sleeps with a c-pap. Regardless, I understand we all have medical issues and problems but a heavy marijuana user is not someone that would be a match for me. I chose not to meet him after a few phone calls. My son was visiting and he did send me some pics which I guess we arent supposed to do but I think most do. I did not send pics to the guys above except to two of them.

I even agreed to meet matches from other cities and there arent any. I ask for educated over money, taller than 57 and full time resident and married before. I dont feel these are expectations are off base for 7,000k or even 500$.

In closing, I reached out to you in order to help others avoid making poor decisions when signing up for services that arent there or not what they profess to be.

Not one introduction that was what I had said I was looking for. I should have read all the complaints and bad reviews all over the country.

The last guy, ****, told me the matchmaker, ******, had called him and said please call these two women today and ask them out for coffee. One of those women was me. lol

Supposedly, they have a new match for me that is ready next week. I have heard this several times in the last several months. His name is ***.

The special of the 12 & 2 was because I was getting a special. That package became 12 a couple months ago. Obviously because they dont have anyone available. ***** told me I should feel happy because I was getting 14 instead of 12 like the people who signed up after April.

    Sincerely,

    *************************

After I explained the facts about my situation they called me to try and sell me more. Management is terrible, customer service doesnt exist. They did not provide any matches even close to what I was told. I tried numerous times to be clear. Offered to come in and discuss, but no. They seem to just blow you off and try to sell you more garbage. I was ripped off by false advertising false promises and a bad attitude from management. Do not waste your time or money!!! Its a scam.. seriously if you ordered chicken and got meatloaf what would you do?

    Business response

    07/24/2023

We are not a restaurant and do not make chicken or meatloaf.  We do not manufacture people for our customers to meet.  We are a matchmaking company where we match our clients with other clients who, in our sole opinion, most closely fit one another's requests.  **************** purchased a membership for eight introductions.  We have gone above and beyond our contractual obligations by providing him with ten introductions.  We will commonly go above and beyond our contractual obligation in an attempt to help a customer find success.  His membership has been completed at this time.  We have had multiple discussions with **************** explaining that his membership has been completed and isn't eligible for a refund.  He decided to curse at our representative and hang up on them last week when she explained this to him.

The company promises matches using a user profile, computer algorithm, and judgement by a "professional matchmaker". However I signed up in January and the company keeps trying to match me with men who do not meet the objective criteria as agreed upon. I made it clear at the initial meeting not to match me with men who have or want kids. This happened 3 times already. Additionally one of these men was not-local. A match in ***** Bay can not reasonably be considered local to someone in Winter Park. This man was also lied to and he was told that I wanted to move (false statement) and that I wanted to start a family (false statement) and that I was in my early 30's (false statement I am 39). The company just says they wont count these as matches however since this was done 3 times they have proven they are incompetent at their line of work. Additionally they tried to get me to match with someone outside my selected age range. I made it abundantly clear no one in their 50s is suitable and they tried to pressure me into accepting the match.

    Business response

    06/30/2023

A lot of time and effort has gone into ******************** membership. She enrolled on January 13, 2023. Her first introduction was provided on January 20. This match was 6 miles from her, has no children, educated, stable, artistic, and compatible in many ways. In her feedback provided on January 27, she said he was a "Nice guy but not outgoing and not exciting. He's high quality for a more introverted female." Her second introduction was provided the same day. This match was 13 miles away, did not have children, and was educated.  She provided post-date feedback on February 21 sharing that she was open to seeing this match again. It is true that her third introduction had children but when we discussed this with ****************, we apologized and offered to add a complimentary match as a resolution, which she accepted. Her fourth introduction was provided on April 18 with a man that had no children, was educated, and was stable. Unfortunately, they decided not to meet due to distance. Her fifth introduction was 25 miles from her and did not have children. was highly educated and successful and athletic. On May 25, she informed us that she would not be meeting him based on a phone call.

Matchmaking and dating are not perfect science. We work with real people from all walks of life who are looking to find companionship. It seems **************** is closing herself off from opportunities by adding and changing her profile. She started her membership by stating she may be open to having children in the future but has recently changed her mind. She also stated that she was open to someone 30 minutes to an hour away, and now wants to date in her local area. She also demands that we share with matches that she has multiple snakes, which the match must be open to. Her other preferences include beards and long hair, masculine men, no dogs, and needs a country boy.

At this point, we have provided **************** with 5 of the 7 introductions she's invested in. We have also added a complimentary match to the end of her program. We have spoken with her at length about her profile, and multiple managers have reviewed her concerns. She is past the point of cancellation or refund. We will continue our efforts in hopes of assisting in her dating and relationship goals, but encourage her to have an open mind about dating and the matchmaking process.

    Complaint: 20253995

I am rejecting this response because:

The company is lying. Only 2 of the matches the company agreed to constituted matches and only because I had never updated my profile or was even explained the process of the profile in the 1st place. I made it clear when I signed up that I did not want children. This includes existing children and future children. If their sales rep did not put this in my profile then this is the companies fault. I did not change my profile since after the 1st 2 matches. Most of the reply information provided by the company constitutes false statements. The company has only agreed that 2 of the matches counted. None of the individuals presented after the 1st 2 met my Objective criteria (age, children,) I have had 0 hobbies and interests match with the 1st 2 individuals thus the company continues to lie. I also made it clear that all potential matches must be made aware of me reptile collection before agreeing to a match as some people have a fear of reptiles. This is documented and the sales rep and matchmaker both refuse to include this information. Their idea is to trick potential matches by refusing to disclose important information. Owning over 60 snakes is not something you can leave out. The website advertises that this service is superior to online dating however this claim is false because they are refusing to accept the filters.

Also the company doesn't like to put anything in writing so once again lying because only 2 of the matches counted verbally. I still have 5 matches left. They are using this tactic to avoid litigation.

I have also learned that this company was found to have committed fraud by the ******* attorney general and has a D rating with the BBB and is unaccredited.

The executed contract clearly states that an introduction is considered made once both members accept the match from the matchmaker.  However, we are always willing to go above and beyond our contractual obligations with any members.  As stated earlier, we have added a complimentary introduction to her membership.

    Customer response

    07/05/2023

    Complaint: 20253995

I am rejecting this response because:

I agreed to the contract under false pretenses as setforth by the sales representative. The representative stated that I would work with a "certified matchmaker" that would take my information, record my requirements, build a relationship and provide me with matches that met the criteria provided. I was told that females of my age demograph do not need more than 7 matches to be successful as she defined as a long-term relationship and that the matches would be provided within 6 months. The representative stated I would be so happy with their services that she was expecting that I would be providing referrals for the service and positive online reviews. While a matchmaker can not predict compatibility based on subjective matter for compatibility as stated in the contract, it does not have any stated rights over objective criteria as defined by the client which is left up to the client. As a client, I stated that the match must be male, live locally, be within an age range less than 50 my age (now 39) - 3, must not have or want kids and eventually I stated they must like the outdoors and fishing and these must be listed in their profile. The objective criteria was ignored by the matchmaker going against the clients will and rights 4 times. This was not a mistake that happened once it was delibetate failure. Furthermore I stated that it was imperative that all potential matches must be informed of my work schedule and ownership of more than 60 snakes. The matchmaker did not disclose this information to any potential match. The contract does not *************** for the business to reject objectively defined user criteria, only subjective criteria. Furthermore the sales representative in writing stated after the contract was signed that they would not disclose the snakes against my will and that I "need her". The company reserves no rights to reject user objective criteria and the contract does not permit this right. Furthermore there was a privacy breach where I was not provided any information about a potential match and my phone number was given to a potential match without my consent. The contract does not state any right by the company to distribute client personal information without discussing with the client and I was harmed as a result of this privacy breach. Because the company clearly violated my privacy, and went against the objective will of the objective criteria of the client the contract is therefore nullified and the business must return the funds as the solution. This solution is appropriate as both parties end up financially in the same position as before the contract is signed, we then go our seperate ways and the matter is closed. I agree not to pursue legal action for the privacy breach if all funds are returned within 30 days upon receipt of this notification. Return of the funds on the original payment method will consider the matter settled.

    Sincerely,

We are sorry to hear of ************************************** complaints. We want to assure him that our company prides itself on our enrollment process. Prior to offering our services, we spend *****+ minutes in a face-to-face consultation reviewing our service, answering questions, and ensuring that each person is a fit for our matchmaking membership. This allows the prospective client to make an educated decision regarding our service and if it's a right fit for them. It also helps to ensure that our database of singles is serious and ready for the dating process. ************************************** agreement also allowed for a 3-day cooling off period where he was able to cancel and receive his money back. When we spoke with him 2 days after enrolling, he had no questions and did not express these concerns to us.

************************************** first introduction was provided on March 20, 2023. At that time, we also reminded him of our process and the importance of a short phone conversation to allow for an in-person meeting, as well as the importance of providing feedback after the date. These are also reviewed in our new client paperwork including the contract and important facts sheet, which he signed, as well as in the new client paperwork he was sent home with after enrolling. We did not hear from him so we sent him a message to check in on March 27 and left a message to check in on April 19.

His second introduction was provided on April 20 but we did not hear from him again, so we sent him a message to check in on May 26, then called and left a message for him on June 26, 27, and 28th. We finally heard back from him on June 28 when he sent a message stating: "I have had 2 introductions 1 spoke to person asked two times to meet no answer there was no interest the second one we went on 2 dates really nothing in common pleasant but not my type".

In a detailed conversation on June 28, we reminded ************************ of the importance of communication. We rely on post-date feedback and face-to-face meetings which help us understand our clients on a deeper level. Unfortunately, we have not experienced either with ************************. The call on June 28 ended with him admitting that he was struggling emotionally and asking to place his membership on hold. We sincerely care for ************************************** dating and relationship journey.

We would like to encourage ************************ to learn more about our coaching options so that we can support him through this process. His membership is not eligible for cancellation or refund, but we will reach out to him again to review his concerns and discuss all options to help him achieve his goals.

I met with ****** from the matchmaking company (who did not disclose that this was Suncoast Introductions). Basically, the whole intake process was pushy like other people are saying. They try to get me to pay everything upfront but I was hesitant and I didnt wanna spend all of that money right away. also, I asked them if they would have a difficult time finding matches for me being a black woman and a single mother. They assured me that they could find introductions. I paid them $1500 down and I just paid my first payment of nearly $300. It has been nearly 2 months and I have had no dates.I want a refund.

We want to assure ************** that we work with singles from all walks of life. For decades, we've been committed to creating a safe environment for quality singles to meet and date other like-minded singles. Matchmaking is not a perfect science and takes time, which is detailed in the new client paperwork she reviewed and signed upon enrollment. Specifically, the agreement states ************ does not guarantee that you will receive introductions in any specific time period."

There are many factors to a ************* including availability, match preferences, timing, compatibility, etc. When we called to present two matches to ************** on June 28, she declined the match due to distance. She insisted that her matches be local to her specific location. This will also impact the time between match options.

With this said, we take ****************** complaint seriously. While we cannot control the outcome of our client's membership, we are committed to our client's experience. We have reached out to ************** directly to discuss her concerns and work to resolve them internally. The requirement for cancellation is a note from a Doctor stating that the client is physically unable to utilize the service.  This would mean a disability that would keep someone from going to a public place to meet someone new.  We have received no correspondence from a Doctor stating that the client is disabled to an extent that they could not go to a coffee shop or restaurant to meet someone.  So far we have received a note from a ******** clinic, a diagnosis from a doctor from 2017 (six years prior to him joining), and a note that he is currently under the care of a doctor.  We have received nothing indicating that he is disabled to an extent that he could not physically utilize his membership.  We have been working with the client diligently to resolve his issues and will continue to do so.

My **** card will not credit back the fee because the contract is so tightly written. SCI operates under several other dating agency names. The Attorney General has awarded victims reimbursement in 2012. I am seeking to get a refund as this service is a scam. Thanks you for your help and attention in resolving this for myself and others.

We are sorry to hear of these complaints. Our matchmaking and management teams have worked hard for ******************* and we are hopeful that we can get her membership on track.

Ms. ******** enrolled in our service on November 22, 2022, and purchased 14 introductions. We provided her first introduction on December 8. This man was highly educated, professional, attractive, in excellent shape, 15 miles from her, and very compatible in a lot of other ways. On December 13 she called in to let ** know that she had not met this introduction due to an illness and placed her membership on hold.

Our manager reached out to check on her on February 2, 2023. ******************** said that she and her first introduction never met but they talked and "he works way too much for her". She confirmed that she was ready to be matched again. On March 1, we provided her second introduction. This was another quality man that was very successful, financially stable, professional, educated, athletic, tall, youthful, and compatible in many other ways. On March 6, she informed ** that they were unable to meet because he was out of town but that they should meet after March 14.

We also worked on a number of other matches and reached out to her on March 13, 30, and April 5 to see if she was available. On April 6th, she declined a match and demanded that we make a special exception for her and share pictures of our matches. We reminded her of our process and as our paperwork states, we do not share pictures of our matches.

We've selected a new match option for her. This man is accomplished, successful, tall, in shape, educated, athletic, and enjoys volunteer work. ************************ membership is not eligible for cancellation or refund based on the agreement she signed. We will reach out to her to see if she would like to accept this match or continue a conversation about how we can improve her experience.

Gold Coast Introductions / Love life Academy is a fraudulent company. You sign a contract after a lengthy due diligence discussion with their sales woman ******. I asked several questions to gather detailed insight into their operation. ****** is a great con artist, providing answers that are not a true representation of their bogus operation. I confirmed that their screening process evaluates lifestyle. ****** assured me that lifestyle, financial security, activity level, world travel, is all part of the evaluation process. My matchmaker *****************************, *********************************** did not even read my profile. The gentleman I was introduced to did not have anything in common. A home body, who works in his garden, who is not used to the finer things in life, judging by his choice of clothes. The next match he suggested lives an hour away. Not acceptable. I am a snowbird who is leaving Naples until the fall. How can this company misrepresent themselves, take your money and have no consequences?I would like my $3000 refunded as Gold Coast introductions is a fraudulent company.

To help clarify our process, our new client advisers spend their time qualifying people for our membership. They ensure the person qualifies before offering membership. While a part of the enrollment qualification includes match-ability, we also qualify on relationship status, background checks, financial status, relationship goals, and many other areas.

After enrollment, our matchmakers spend time evaluating match options based on compatibility and availability. We rely on our client's communication and follow-up after each introduction to help learn more about their unique needs. We disagree that the introduction provided had "nothing in common", as ************** states. The two have dogs (which she expressed was important to her), share similar relationship goals, are compatible in their personality evaluations, live in the same city, are the same age, and live an active lifestyle.

We would like to remind ************** that she's only received one introduction so far. As the agreement she signed states, "When selecting matches for you, the Company will select an individual from its pool of members who, in its sole opinion, most closely fits your profile while ensuring we do the same for the person we are matching you with. You understand and agree that meeting each introduction face to face is the most important key to success through our service. You must be willing to use your entire membership in order to be successful through our service. While we cannot guarantee success for any member, experience shows these as important factors to success".

Per the executed agreement, ****************** membership is not eligible for cancellation or refund. We will reach out to her to discuss these concerns, explain our process more clearly, and work to move forward with her to assist her in her dating journey.

I am rejecting this response because:

    To whom it may concern,

I hit return prior to responding to Gold Coast Introductions reply:

I reject their response as the gentleman may have a dog, he is not active, did not ask any questions, I did all of the asking. Obviously not compatible with my energy.  Have they met the gentleman? I also stressed that lifestyle is a high priority.  Blue colar and professional backgrounds are not a match for me.

They did not consider financial status, finer qualities in life, lifestyle or activity level.

If there service is reputable,  why do they have 56 complaints on the *************************** site? Why does management not return calls or repond to their dispute forms by email? I assume their service is non refundable as they know they are misrepresenting themselves.

    *********************

    Sincerely,

We are still in the early stages of her membership and will continue to fine tune her matches as we gain more experience with her.  Thus our statement that members must be willing to use their entire membership if they expect to find success.  56 complaints represents less than 1% of the customers we've enrolled in *******.

I am not longer in *******.  I was clear that I am a seasonal resident,  which the company had conflicting responses from their staff. No one from the company has made any effort to reach out to me to discuss the situation.
