Brought wife whom is not totally fluent in English to give plasma at BioLife Plasma Services in ******. They would not allow me to stay with her to assist in questions they would ask her if needed. They said I must leave. Also, it is almost single digits in temperature outside, that is where they made me stay. I sat with her for the first 15 minutes while she was awaiting to see someone after her appointment time. I understand security is a possible concern, but all businesses face the same issue and deal with it appropriately. There should be some circumstances, a husband or wife should be allowed to stay. Why do they have a childrens waiting room and not an adult waiting room?

On more than 1 occasion, I have arrived for my scheduled appointment to be coldly locked out and ignored by all staff members even as they hear me (and can seems) knocking at the business doors which are glass. I do understand that the business closes at 7pm CST however if Im able to set an appointment for 7pm, they should be more than able to follow through on their behalf with services- especially when going by their everyday rules and guidelines aka their 10 minute ***** ******* The absolute least they could do is have some sense of decency or respect for a *recurrent* donor and answer the dang door with a sorry excuse but instead the employees opt to laugh and humiliate their client who has not done anything wrong to them or their establishment. They set the ***** period guidelines for their business and they should abide by them! I dont think thats too much to ask for or expect. Although I wont push for it personally (as of now) maybe they should start paying for clients wasted time, efforts, gasoline, stress etc. since they dont want to do their job appropriately. I feel as if they should be ashamed of themselves for making a donor feel so belittled when in reality, we make a big impact.. not to just the lives we are helping, but the employees livelihood all together cause they wouldnt even have this job if there werent a donors so they need to humble themselves greatly and I believed they all need to be trained more thoroughly on how to handle such a situation and how to care for a client vs getting off a clock. So disappointing and disheartening. Their work ethic is sorry and the audacity is sad.

Dangerous and abusive business practices.Made an appointment for donating on 12/31/2024 at 11:30 arrived at 11;20. They immediately took my information at the ****** my vitals (screening) Then told me to wait for my physical telling me there were only two people ahead of me and they had three nurses.1 hour later I asked where I was in the line, they said 4th.1 hour later I asked where I was in the line and was told 6th.1 hour later I was told 3rd.15 minutes later someone offered an additional $20 to cancel as they would soon be closing. I asked how this would work for somebody who has yet to get their physical, they then told me I was next for my ************* thing I know the manager pulled me in her office; lectured me on my attitude and wrote me up, telling me one more right up and I would be permanently barred from donating ******** the time I was there twice as many people had to see the nurse than actually donated as they had been bruised and left with huge hematoma. This place needs to be investigated, and probably shut down for their utter incompetence.

I have donated before at another clean professional plasma facility and came here from a promotion receiving more money which I could use over the holidays. The most concerning issue is the technicians in the screening process I noticed several were NOT changing their gloves in between donors! I had to ask twice on different occasions for them to change gloves, and am shocked a place that handles blood should have mandatory practices or disciplinary actions on employees that do not hold standard as they are drawing blood on each donor. Someone needs to take action to correct this from the top! Because most of the donors don't say anything when they sit down and the staff had used the same glove on several donors! This is a health risk issue. Also the three individual shared men/woman bathrooms are filthy. Worse than a gas station bathroom. Completely unsanitary. I pointed this out to a staff member she informed me the front desk staff, along with the nurses rotates to clean. Can you imagine? There is not a full time dedicated professional cleaning company keeping up with the cleanliness of this facility. Feels dirty overall. The way they handle the overall screening/approval process sending you all over the place esp. as a new donor. It is clunky at best getting to the chair. The actual donating process has been fine, and friendly staff. Even though my actual donating time takes no more than 30 minutes with appointments it still take 1.5 hour. I hope these concerns of mine will be addressed and taken care of. As it is good to help save people's lives by donating, but not at the risk of being contaminated by a faulty process. and unsanitary conditions.

On December 7th, when I tried logging in at the center, an alert popped up that I could no longer donate. I had not been informed of there being any issues prior. I went to the front desk, and they told me there was a problem with my donation. I worried that there could have been a problem with my blood since I had heard stories of people finding out they had diseases after they tried to donate blood. Since nothing had happened during my donation, I assumed it was because of something with my blood. The front desk told me I had to speak to a nurse immediately - making me anxious. When I saw the Head Nurse, she told me that I exhibited signs of anxiety during my donation. This came as a complete shock to me because I was on my phone during my blood donation and I felt pretty relaxed. I feel the nurse is lying. The Head Nurse chastised me about my anxiety and made me feel worse. Because of how abrasive the Head Nurse was speaking to me, I was nervous. How the Head Nurse criticized me was offensive and upsetting. She caused me to be nervous by her actions and then blamed the nervousness on me. If they knew I couldn't donate, why did they let me schedule an appointment? I drove 40 minutes and wasted gas with the money I didnt have. I am poor. If I had been informed immediately after my donation that I couldnt donate again, that wouldve been fine because I would not have scheduled an appointment or showed up to the center. They handled the situation poorly. I maintain that I had no adverse reaction while donating blood. If ******** or one of the other nurses had been so worried that I was having anxiety during my donation, why did none of them approach me during or after my donation? The nurses did not ask me if I was okay during my donation or make comments that indicated concern. It doesnt make sense. I feel that I experienced racial discrimination because the nurses were looking at me offensively while I donated blood and they lied about me having anxiety.

I have donated with Biolife once, in 2008 when I was a young single mom and needed the additional income. I am now in a position where the additional income would benefit my family greatly but because of the one time I donated in 2008 they have a paper file they need to dig out of storage and cannot proceed without it. I sat for two hours trying to get this issues resolved and was told I needed a drs note about something I was honest with the nurse about suspecting and then was hung up on by several managers all who could no provide a valid explanation as to why I was being denied. When I mentioned that I wouldnt mention something unless Im sure about the the manager stated I was dishonest and put me on a list thats stated I can never donate again. This is ridiculous and I will be seeking legal ramifications and follow up on this matter

I went to BioLife Plasma Services on ***************************************************** Tx on November 27 and November 29 to donate plasma. On both visits, it appeared that numerous phlebotomists werent changing their gloves between donors. I even asked one phlebotomist if she had cleaned the workstation before she began handling me in which she agreed to clean the station after I requested. On my second visit on November 27, I asked the phlebotomist if they change gloves between every patient And she said no, we do not. I did not donate plasma on either visit and I do not plan on going back to BioLife due to fear of health concerns.
