My name is ***************, I am the owner of Second City Roofing and Exteriors we are writing in regards to the complaint written by ********** regarding the work done on her house per *City of Chicago code with City of ******* permit number B200022484* per contract dated on July 9, 2024. I personally came out per Ms. **** request to address her issues/concerns regarding the work that was done on Ms. Poes house before we received a formal complaint from the BBB, due to Ms. **** insistence of me coming to look. I was there and inspected the work comparing the work that was done with the contract that was written and found not only did we do the work described in the contract but it was also done properly. By the way, ********** did not come outside with me, I was accompanied by what I think to be her granddaughter who ********** instructed to show me the issues. Upon going outside with the granddaughter and reviewing the work issues I thought everything was done properly.

Before going out and inspecting the work that was performed I did have a reasonably long discussion with ********** regarding the project timeline and let me summarize briefly the discussion that took place with **********. Seems to me like her main complaint was REALLY not the work but the fact that she was upset that she was not properly informed that the crew will be arriving the day of and that error on our part caused another one of her main complaints that she was not able to properly inform her tenants and the neighbors on each side of the home, that there will be dust in the air and were not able to close their windows to save a small cleanliness issue inside their apartments.  She also complained that she was not happy with the debris that was left on the sidewalk or the exterior window ***** and she had to have someone clean them. We were never alerted by ********** or a neighbor on either side regarding the dust or debris until it was time to resolve the final balance owed. During this conversation with her she made a point to show me the television set she has hanging in her dining room that seemed to be hooked up to a closed circuit system around her property. She kept telling me how she has videos of how the work was not done but she never showed them to me.

To try and make her happy even though the work was done properly with a City of ******* permit I offered her a generous deduction of her balance that I felt was more than adequate and said that we would come back approximately on September 18th or 19th to physically address a couple more masonry issues that she expected to have done that were NOT part of her contract. To which she seemed to be agreeable and no financial conclusion was reached at this point. The balanced owed to us was put on hold until we completed this little bit of extra work that I agreed to do that again was not part of the contract.

Regarding, the part of the complaint referencing the worth of the job, Second City Construction is a licensed, bonded and well insured ******************************************************** the City and State. It is not inexpensive to keep this status and if you investigate your records and any other customer consumer protection agencies you will find that Second City has an extremely good record.

To summarize we are willing to do minor additional work on her property at no additional charge and certainly agree to a small deduction on her balance for the lack of cleanliness but we are looking for the balance of the financial obligation.

I am rejecting this response because:I have tried over and over and when I try and talk to owner I have to be called out of my name and all kind of racial slurs.I am a senior 77 years old and have never been called out of my name the way this man have done. And to tell me you shut the -up, like I am some kind of lest that an animal. And also when you have messed up you want to blame me, and put a **** on this property. No I will seek other help and with God it will work out.

    Sincerely,
