After the devastating loss of our home due to fire, on March 30, 2020. Our insurance referred us to this company. Unlimited Fire Restoration, Inc. used their architect to move forward with the gut/rehab our home. During the rebuild, I had many conversations with the General Contractor about the center of my floors sloping, -hence (FOUNDATION WAS NOT CONSIDERED) inward to the center of my home. I Also, addressed whey they modified my walls, **********. to the slopping/foundation instead of fixing the DANGEROUS problem. They NEVER took my complaints into consideration and we were left with having to move back in before it was fixed because our insurance allotment for housing had been exhausted. After countless conversations with them, my insurance company and being ignored by the architect (after calling him countless times). Im having to fix this structural hazard and soon to be unlivable home with a cost out of pocket nearing $20,000 because of THEIR negligence. They have taken advantage of our humble family. They reassured, our family, to be at ease with our choice of hiring them. Unfortunately, it has been nothing but absolute disheartenment and we have been left with a nightmare to be relived.Business response

Dear **************************************
Thank you for reaching out to us. We understand your frustration and appreciate you bringing these concerns to our attention. We want to assure you that we take all customer concerns seriously and are committed to providing the best possible service. We have reviewed your policy and the details of your claim. Unfortunately, foundation repairs are typically not covered under standard fire insurance policies. This is because foundation issues are often considered pre-existing conditions or structural defects that are not directly related to the fire damage. We understand that this may be disappointing news, but we are unable to provide coverage for repairs that are not included in your policy. However,we are happy to discuss your options and provide any assistance we can within the scope of your coverage.
If you have any questions or would like to discuss your policy further, please do not hesitate to contact us.

I am rejecting this response because:As my hired contractor to take care of the repairs to my home after the fire. It was your responsibility to bring to our attention. If there were any structural problems before you began to repair the home or any other problems you may have encountered as you gutted the home after the fire. How are you going to build on something that is not structurally sound? What type of business practices are you in? It is your job to make sure that everything is up to code, and if it is a problem, you are to bring it to your clients attention. However, this was never done and your contracting company built on something that was not up to code you built the walls and framework to compensate for the sinking floor. As I provided in the pictures before, you can clearly see that your company Took it upon themselves to continue the work without notifying your client. As you know, the fire department had to come to our house twice because the fire started again. There was a lot of water poured into our home to sustain the fire. Remember, it was a three houses on fire.
then our home was left boarded up for months before anybody ever got in here to start demolition. I also have photos of your company, going onto my crawlspace and repairing some of the boards so you clearly saw there was a problem, but chose to just repair certain boards and not the main beam to the house. Believe me, I wish I did not have to bring this to your attention in this manner, but this is for the safety of my family, and I know that my home is not structurally sound, and it is not not my fault. It is the fault of your company and the way you choose to practice. All Im asking is that you to repair the damage that would have been repaired from the very beginning.
Sincerely,

In regard to the rejection of our response, our response was exactly what you had asked for which was an explanation of the funds which i gave you down to the *****. The chimney liner was done to the code per the ***************. The bedroom window and the storm door both have what you call shims "A shim is a thin and often tapered or wedged piece of material, used to fill small gaps or spaces between objects,Shims are typically used in order to support, adjust for better fit, or provide a level surface". I hope this explanation helps. Please feel free to contact the office at ************ with any further questions.
