    In Aug 2021, there was water damage that destroyed our flooring, carpets, and drywall. We called Chicago Water Fire Restoration (CWF) for the mitigation services. *********************** (Project Manager) came and analyzed/marked all the damaged areas and advised that damaged drywall/cabinets/flooring would need to be removed and sanitized. I asked him for the preliminary estimate, but he did not provide it to me. He said if the insurance wont cover the mitigation cost, CWF would provide a much lower estimate. We did not receive a quote and he assured us that our insurance would cover ALL the costs and CWF would deal directly with the insurance company and my HOA.A few days later CWF started working on the mitigation process. They began tearing up the kitchen cabinets, drywall and flooring. During the mitigation process, CWF broke my countertop in half, damaged my fridge, threw away the kitchen faucet and garbage disposal, which was in working condition.When the mitigation work was finished, we received an invoice for $ ********. My insurance only paid $2,719.79 and HOA declined to provide any payment. After CWF was not able to collect the remaining balance of $4,607.30 from my HOA/insurance, they kept on mailing/emailing us for the outstanding balance of $4607.30, or else they will put a Lien on our property. When I tried to contact ***********************, he did not answer the phone or email. They continued to harass and threaten us about the Lien or the remaining balance would be sent to the collections. After a number of email exchanges, CWF never provided us any proof that *********************** or CWF ever contacted my Insurance or HOA to discuss the preliminary estimate before starting the mitigation work.On Oct 19th, we received a Lien document from them on our property. They ALSO charged $4,607.30 to my credit card WITHOUT MY AUTHORIZATION. This is a case of misleading, deceptive, and fraudulent business practices, not to mention mental harassment. Please help us get back $4,607.30

    I am rejecting this response because: CWF's lawyer reached out to me to take my comments off the BBB site. I did respond to their lawyer last week and explained my entire experience with CWF in detail to clarify any issues or concerns. I still have not heard back from CWF or their lawyer yet.
