A refundable deposit of $500 was put on a vehicle(2/23/24), after test driving the vehicle(2/26/23) I decided I did not want to move forward with purchasing the vehicle. I have followed up with Exotic Motors by phone multiple times and each time I am told I will be refunded, but they still have not refunded me as of 3/20/24 almost an entire month later.Business response

Entered into agreement to purchase a used 2013 Land Rover LR2 from Exotic Motors in ***************, ** on Aug 24, 2023. Agreed price was $15576.26. Provided seller with a $500 deposit to hold vehicle while being prepped. Balance of payment provided via bank transfer on Sep 20, 2023 and electronic sales documents signed. Vehicle was delivered to my home in VA on Oct 14, 2023. Vehicle condition is as expected for being used and not an issue.Problem is getting a physical copy of the vehicle title needed to re-title and register the vehicle in VA. Told title sent via ***** but was lost on Nov 8, 2023. Multiple requests for updates sent via email, text, phone on Nov 28, Dec 5, Dec 19, 2023 and Jan 8, Jan 9, ****. On Dec 5, 2023 dealership staff stated they were working on the issue. After Dec 5, 2023 dealership fell silent and has not replied to any inquiries. To date, no physical copy of vehicle title has been received and temporary tags are expiring leaving vehicle illegal to be on road in VA.Business response

Better Business Bureau:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.I would also like included in the case notes that Exotic Motors did not reach out to me at all for nearly a full year to resolve this issue; potentially leaving me with an unlicensed vehicle that was illegal to drive on public roads. It was not until the ******************* subpoenaed Exotic Motors to appear in court in October ************************************************************* a certified copy of a title. Exotic Motors ignored BBB's request for resolution of this complaint for roughly eight months before responding.
I applaud the efforts of the ******************* in pushing Exotic Motors to do the right thing and provide me with a title, but it's sad that it took the scheduling of a court date and the likelihood of fines before they did so. I also thank the ********** for assisting me by providing temporary tags that allowed me to legally operate the vehicle that I paid Exotic Motors for over a year ago. Resolved? Yes. Do I think this business should be credited for positively responding to my BBB complaint made against them? No.

Bought this car 10/27/23 and within 24 hours the check engine light came on. Was told by EXOTIC MOTORS that with the warranty to take it to any *** dealer and I did. Almost $13,000 worth of problems with the car Ive only had for one day. *** said that the car was sold with no catalytic converter and without it the warranty is voided and most likely EXOTIC MOTORS just deleted the check engine light temporarily. Brought the car back to EXOTIC MOTORS and was told the only thing wrong was the car was the 2 front tires were a different size than the rear. Wanted to return my car and cancel the purchase and was told no. No rental has been given whole time and car doesnt work. EXOTIC MOTORS knows my phone number and transfers me to a random line and no one picks up. Have gone in person and I dont get help. Before purchasing the car I asked the salesman if the car was stock and I was told yes. They lied to my face. I am financing ****** for this car and they dont seems to care. I told EXOTIC MOTORS I replaced the rear tires that were not the correct size for the car which was $680 and they said they can not refund me. $230 for a *** service appointment to check the light. I need help because I think that just because I am a girl I will let this slide. I have screenshots and proof they dont reach out after many many attempts. Thank youBusiness response

I initiated a vehicle purchase with exotic motors which required financing. After being approved for car loan, I did not finalize the purchase due to concerns with the dealership contract. I never took possession of the vehicle (2016 ****** 370z). On July 24th, 2023, I notified them I was no longer interested. However, the dealership processed the loan and was wired funds from the finance company (******************). I am being billed by Westlake for monthly payments. No o e at Exoctic motors is responding to calls, email, texts or voice mail.Business response

Purchased a vehicle March 14, 2023. Immediately upon leaving the facility a chassis error code popped up on the screen. I contacted the dealership and the ownership swore at me and told me to leave their establishment. I had several items in the *** section of the contract they refused to honor including fixing the chassis issue. Repeated attempts to contact with no luck. This establishment needs to be shut down immediately. Consumers are at risk.I had to take the vehicle to a service center where I was quoted several thousand dollars to repair. I am requesting Exotic Motors to pick up this repair bill.Business response

WE are under new management now and would like to see what we can do to resolve this issue. When we put repairs on paper we always make sure to have the car brought back to our facility for the repairs. If out of state the car should be taken to a repair facility and estimated then compared to our estimate we will come to a solution. This business sold me a car that came damaged there are safety concerns to the vehicle to where its not safe for me to drive. I was promised 15 days with the car and I could take it back there was mechanical issues. Theres over 4k in damages when the car came. They told me to pay for some of the damages and to send them invoices and I would be reimbursed which I have in writing. They promised to take the car back due to it being a ****** within the 15 day time frame. Now they refuse to respond. Safety concerns!!! Im stuck with a car that is not safe to drive!! WE always honor our 15 day warranty. This does not mean a return of the car or fix anything that is wrong with it. It is an engine and transmission warranty only. A full refund is not part of that warranty. These people are criminals and fools. I bought a 2011 Mustang GT500 from these conmen and they sent me a dysfunctional vehicle. It took them 45 days to deliver it too. While I waited they tried refusing delivery because apparently one of the finance goons wanted more money after I had already paid for the car in full. Now theyre refusing to pay to have the car repaired. This has got to be illegal. They knowingly sent me a dysfunctional car (violating the contract we signed) and refuse to get the car fixed. Their preferred option is to buy the car back from me and try selling it for more money.Business response

I bought a 2012 Shelby ***** from "MD ****" He assured me the car was never in an accident, the car was perfect, and I would love it, the tires were in great shape etc. I am an out of state buyer, so I took the word of the sales guy (bad idea). The car arrived to me and the first thing I noticed was a large dent in the passenger door (looks like the drove it through an icy snowbank). I then went for a test ride and the check engine light comes on for an EVAP code. I reach out to "MD" to let him know I'm not happy. I never got a response back from him. About a week later I am driving the car I noticed the A/C didn't work, Windshield washer fluid did not work, and my fog light/ marker lights don't work. I had the car further inspected to find the car was crashed and repaired by EXOTIC MOTORS. Weird, they said it was not in an accident. The bumper was held on by machine self-taping screws and electrical wire. After removing the bumper, we found the A/C condenser had a hole in it, both fog lights and both marker lights the wiring was ripped out the car and the windshield bottle was cracked. The ambient air temp sensor was gone. I also noticed the fasteners were not installed properly causing them to chafe the tires. Also, a cracked head light I called Exotic Motors and spoke with **** the sales manager. He asked me how I knew they fixed the car and that it was crashed? THE SHIPPING LABEL WAS ON THE FENDER WITH THEIR NAME ON IT! He exploded on me and told me "its not his fault his sales guy MD mis represented the sale." He then offers me $500 to move on and fix the car. The parts alone were way more the $500. I tell him to send me the money and now he is ghosting me. The car had a temp registration tag on it and was not safe to go down the road or pass a state inspection.Business response

2016 ****** *** transaction. he car was definitely NOT the car described to me at the purchase process. I specifically if any work had been done to the car. They lied about all that was done to it. To only find out there was MAJOR issues. Told me that the *** was traded in by a local guy on a ********* Come to find out the car was purchased at an auction. I was not born yesterday, I do expect used car salesmen to lie, unfortunately it is the nature of their beast, but all of these factors go into the decision-making process when I was deciding if I was going to purchase the car or not.I asked specifically if there were any scratches, dings, dents or damage. I asked how the paint looked in person and about the tires, I was told paint was near perfect and tires were new. I asked how the car ran and if any issues. Assured me that there was no damage other than normal wear and tear, it ran perfectly. I purchased a 2014 ******** CLS-550 on 12/21/2022.Was told the car was in no major accidents. On 1/2/2023 I took the car through a car wash and the soap/water/polish mixture started leaking in puddles through the windshield. This caused severe stains throughout my headliner. The next day I took it to an auto glass company and they had me take a video of them testing the seal on the windshield and it was unsealed across the whole top half of the windshield. I called Exotic motors and they first tried blaming me for unsealing the windshield but the shop I was at overheard the conversation and told them that theres no way I couldve caused this. That it had been like this at least 3+ months most likely due to an accident where the windshield needed to be replaced and wasnt sealed properly. Exotic motors agreed to have the windshield replaced but I had to drive 90+ min to get to the only shop they would pay to do the work. My only problem now is that I still have water damage in my headliner from the car wash. I got them a quote at a detail shop close to me for $129.99 and a quote from ******** for $400+. They refuse to pay the $129.99 and are saying I need to bring it to them to get the stains out. Thats a 2+ hour drive and will cost me gas and hourly wages missed at work. I cant pay out of pocket for gas and hourly wages missed to take it to them. I believe that since they accepted responsibility for the unsealed windshield they should at least pay a measly $129.99 at a local detail shop near me so I dont lose hourly wages and spend so much gas out of pocket. They are not willing to do that and have been increasingly rude and condescending each time I call. Bottom line is, they sold me a vehicle with a defective windshield and I shouldnt have to spend any gas money out of pocket or lose any hourly wages to get stains removed that their defective windshield caused and they already accepted responsibility for the defective windshield.Business response
