I traded in a ****** sienna back in August to purchase a ****** armada. They told me that everything I got for the trade i would not have to pay sales tax on per indiana state law. I told them I live in **** and asked if it would be the same they said yes. Now after going to register the vehicle in **** I am being told that I owe 2700 in sales tax. When I tried to contact the dealership they started ignoring my calls. I can not afford to pay these taxes and now I have a vehicle that I can not drive.

Per Indiana state law we have to give a tax credit when trading in a vehicle no matter what their state allows or does not. Since the customer was not charged the tax by us then we can not pay for something we id not collect

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined the response would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

Your salesman lied and said that I would not have to pay sales tax in my own state I asked him repeatedly and he said I was covered. I reached out to you for help and you just ghosted my phone calls. I still can not drive my car. All I asked is that you take the car back and refund the money from the trade and you wouldn't even give me a yes or no. How can you treat your customers like this? If you will not make this right by either meeting me halfway on the tax or taking the vehicle back and refunding me then everyone deserves to know what kind of business you are.

    Regards,

    ******* True

I sold a car I purchased from Unlimited Motors and I have been trying to get the refund money back from my warranty since May 2024. No one would return my calls. I went to their location and was given a person to email and there was no response. Turns out she no longer works there. I got all documentation to them they requested. I have called and emailed and no response. The voice mail is the person whom I was told no longer works there. I sold the car just over a year later and no one will provide my refund. I sold the car 4/30/2024 and provided that information

I bought a 2020 Jeep Compass from ***** at Unlimited Motors in June 2024. After I bought the Jeep I realized I could not get comfortable driving the jeep. I went to a dealership to see if they would purchase the jeep. The Manager said he would not purchase the car because it has structural damage listed on the Car Fax Report. I was not told that by *****. I did see the front of the jeep was listed as minor damage on the report. I asked ***** about that and he said minor damage no problems. He did not tell me the report listed structural damage. After I found out, by the dealership, I contacted ***** and he said someone would call me with an offer to buy the car back. I have not heard back. ***** said I can dispute the CarFax Report. If he would have told me the report listed structural damage, I would not have bought the car. He knew that, that is why he brushed me off when I asked about the front end collision. I told him I am very dissappointed in them as a business. I want $23k for the car and I am taking a loss at that price. I should not have to try and clean up the report. The car had another dent that he did not mention.

Customer stated that they saw the Carfax report and decided to purchase anyways. If they want to trade in their car or sell it to anyone they can. It would need to be appraised at current condition and market value. It has a clean title.

I did not see the report where it said structural damage.  I saw front end report but not the structural damage. The car is less valuable because of the report. ***** was not honest when I said something about front end collision. The structural damage report was ptior to the front end collision. ***** brushed off the front end collision and did not mention the structural damage. To me that is being dishonest. I thought he was a decent salesman. He knew if he told me structural damage I would not have bought the car. The dealership would not touch because of the report. He said he could not sell it.

I was sold a vehicle which with major mechanical issues were either intentionally hidden and/or simply not disclosed because of failing to do a basic inspection of the vehicle before listing it for sale. At a minimum. the vehicle needs a new engine, does not shift in and out of gears properly, and does not have proper keys. The cost to fix these issues is approximately $8000 at a minimum. No problems were disclosed in the vehicle listing.

I bought a 2020 ************ on January 17, 2024. The next day I realized that the sunroof was an operable and got stuck open in 20 weather with my six-year-old in the car. I also noticed the trunk not functioning properly in the tail lights, blinking as if there was a short, I contacted the ********** and they got me in a couple days later. I took it to a Kia ********** who told me the car had been in a very bad accident and they could open it up, but that the warranty would be if the work that had been done was not by a certified mechanic and they suggested I take the car back to where I bought it When I took it back They told me the ********** was just trying to pull one over on me. They had me bring my car back for a couple days when I got back, they said the sunroof just needed to be greased, and that they ordered parts for the tail lights, but the sunshade still would not close. When the parts came in for the tail lights, I brought the car back, this was on February 8, 2024. Since then they brought it to the same Kia ********** I did in the beginning and would not tell me where it was. I finally found where it was and the ********** said it had been in a bad accident and they were having trouble with the electrical fixing it. I am now at over 30 days consecutively not having my car and this is the third time Ive brought it to the shop since Ive bought it, Ive only had it a couple days since I purchased it and now cannot get communication from the ********** I bought it from. I asked about what my options were as I am paying for a car. I havent had but a couple days since I purchased it and they will not get back to me. I am at a loss of what to do. I do not have any documents to submit as they are in my car that I do not have access to. Please help me.

Purchased 2013 Silverado 2/28/2023 Unlimited Motors, ************* On 3/3/23 all lights came on, RPM were high, could only drive <10 mph, called **************** and was instructed to take to certified GM dealer which was Royal Chevrolet in *********, **. Dropped truck off for diagnostic and to open claim with extended warranty company, over a week later claim opened and adjuster inspected issues at Royal Chevrolet, they stated due to being pre existing they would not cover it even though warranty purchased did cover issues they defaulted to Dealer to fix since it was only driven for 3 days. Since March 16 my truck has been sitting in parking lot of Royal Chevrolet as Unlimited Motors emailed me that they were going to get transport to come to Coldwater and pick it up and repair it and have it back to me by April 12. At this time Unlimited motors will not answer any of my calls or my mom's calls or emails. To get in touch with them we have to use other cell phones or work phones, then we get transferred and not answers. Even Royal Chevrolet has been trying to contact them with no return calls/communication. I have made 2 payments on a truck I have only driven for 3 days. Many broken promises and not standing behind their issues. I have documentation of all correspondence. Filed claim with ******* ************************ as well as sought legal representation with letter of demand on 5/8/23. At this point, I simply want my truck to be fixed and they can pay Royal Chevrolet to fix it so I can have warranty on the service provided and use my truck. No one has helped cover rental for me to get to and from work. They state they can fix it for 1/2 the cost, but nothing is done and as stated it has been two months now that my truck is sitting at Royal Chevrolet. The extended warranty will not even cover it due to it being pre existing and defaulted to dealer. I just want my truck fixed with a warranty on the service work completed so I can have my own vehicle that I am still paying for.

On March 11,2023 I signed a contract with unlimited Motors for 17 grand for a 2014 *******************. From the appearance of the picture online I assumed it had been garaged; it had not. When their employee came to pick me up the car was filthy with no floor mats,I even said to him guess I don't have to worry about getting it dirty,it already was.A day later I looked up what it was worth, much to my dismay, under 5grand. He was selling the picture trying to make a fast easy buck at my expense. I want an adjustment in the price of the car. Really I just would like to return it and be done, but he isn't willing to let go of the fast easy buck he made,at my expense.

*********** inquired on the 2014 ******************* and had submitted a credit application to get approved for financing. Once approved she did not have a ride to get here so we made arrangements to pick her up. She came to the dealership and decided to purchase the car and several days later she had contacted ****** the bank she had gotten approved with. They reached out to us to let us know she was in touch with them. I called a left several messages so I decided to text her and she replied which is attached. I asked her was everything ok with her car and she responded all is good.

If she decides she does not want the car she can trade it in either back to us or any other car dealership.
