We took our truck to Winfield Motors dealership in Winfield, Kansas last week to get new tires put on. The mechanic broke two of our factory rims.Truck VIN ***************** is a 2019 Ram Classic Crew Cab with 17 inch tires. Before we left, the dealership provided a paper stating that they would order new rims. A week later the dealership called to tell ***** ******,my husband to bring the truck over(24 miles)so they could get the number from the tire to order replacement rims.He took the truck over today and they took the truck back into the service area.Later they told him they took the rim cover off and would put new ones on that they would order. I have called several dealerships including the one where we have purchased a truck in the past and they have serviced this truck. I was told the rims were from the factory and you have to order them as a whole which includes the rim coating. ***** called the dealership this afternoon and a woman told him 4 rims were ordered and they will replace all 4 so they will match. I called the dealership and talked to the manager. He told me he ordered after-market replacements off from EBAY when I asked him for the part number. I told him we do not want refurbished or after-market parts. I also told him we do not want our other two good tires/rims touched. I am not comfortable having this dealership do service on our truck again. We spent $898 for the tires. I would like another dealer we trust to put the correct rims on.This dealership broke our rims that were in good/perfect shape. They are not resolving the issue in an ethical way. Ordering after-market parts off from Ebay is not acceptable in any way.The rims to order replacements are $700 according to Parks Motors. Winfield Motors has ordered $20 knock-off rim covers. I asked him why he ordered four since only two are damaged and he said on Ebay he had to order a set. I found the set and it was $79.Today, they tore the covering off our rims.that were sealed at the factory.

It is the RIM that the dealership took apart and broke chunks out of. I used the term tire and it is the RIM at issue. The new tires we purchased form them seem alright. But the broke 2 RAM rims that were assembled at the factory and ordered some EBAY knock-offs (only the outside part with the intent of removing the factory sealed covering and gluing on the Ebay covering that is not a Ram product. I have contacted two Kansas dealerships including the one where we purchased the truck and both said you cannot take the Ram rims apart. You have to order new rims as they are assembled at the factory in a unit. One told me a Kansas dealership would not ever use Ebay parts - only Winfield Motors is as they ordered them from Ebay as they told us. Attached are some photos of the two broken rims. They had no defects prior to them putting new tires on and htey told us they broke two.

My name is **** ***** and I am the GM of the dealership. I’m aware of the situation regarding the complaint from the customer regarding the wheel damage that happened at our dealership. I’ve spoke with my Service Manager **** ******** regarding this and he acknowledged the damage that we did to the chrome cladding but no damage to the wheel itself. We can prove that the factory wheel that came on the truck from the factory was not a chrome clad wheel but was a silver aluminum wheel. We took the part number off the chome clad “cover” that was on the customers wheel and matched it up with a part number on eBay due to it not being a Mopar part and found the exact Chrome Clad Cover. We could only buy them as a pack of 4 so we did infact do that with intentions of just using 1 of them to replace the damaged one. So in our belief we owned up to our mistake and will or have already replaced this cover on the customers wheel.

    Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because: the dealership is refusing to replace HERE IS OUR RIM NUMBERS: **********    ********** ***
We need 2 rims to replace those they ruined. He is attempting to put on knock-off caps that he got on ebay. Our wheels are made in the factory - see the part number - comes in ONE UNIT all together. Cannot be tampered with. The part number shows one unit. HERE IS OUR RIM NUMBERS: **********    ********** ***
We need 2 rims to replace those they ruined.  The CHROME CLAD is sealed with FOAM that hardens at the factory and then the CHROME CLAD is place on top of the hardened foam - at the factory - to seal and keep out rain/water, dirt. They have already broken apart two of our rims further by tampering with them and tearing into them. IF they attempt to place their knock-off ebay caps on the rim, there will be a SPACE where the hardened foam was and they will not glue on right - plus NO GLUE type is listed - as it's a jerry-rigged job. We do not and will not have our truck ruined further from this dealership. We have two ruined rims that are our property - and were in perfect shape when we drove in. We will need to contact our insurance company for the property damage or the police department for assistance for property damage that has not been corrected by this dealership. The point is - look up the part number on the rims. HERE IS OUR RIM NUMBERS: **********    **********   THIS IS STAMPED IN MEATAL FROM THe factory for this wheel. Other dealerships tell us it is one unit and is in their catalog as one unit.
We need 2 rims to replace those they ruined.

    Sincerely,

    **** ******

We ordered our replacement parts at our cost. Winfield Motors ruined two of our truck parts, specifically  ************** which we ordered today from an auto parts online store. No apology from this car dealership for ruining our property. We did not want the EBAY ones they ordered as

they aren't the correct ones and it is obvious this dealership has no intention to either apologize or restore our property to the condition which we drove in with it. It is very unfortunate we spent nearly $900 at their dealership on new tires. They mounted and balanced them with the two broken rim skins attached. This will be an additional expense for us to have the tiers rebalanced to correct their damage/mistake. Thiis dealership denied our request to both apologize and rebalance our tires.

Our case was closed, which further breaks my heart. This was a true injustice for the consumer. Thank you.
