Company called to find out who does maintenance ordering, got his name, then started shipping bulbs that are three times the amount of what we pay. We didn't ever place an order for these bulbs, yet they keep shipping them every month and sending an overpriced invoice as well. My mistake for paying the first few, but we do not want any more bulbs that we never ordered. By federal law, anything received in the mail that you didn't order (that is addressed to you) is considered a 'gift' and will be treated as such moving forward.

    Business response

    12/15/2022

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/12/14) */ In accordance with the consumers request, we will not ship any more orders to the business. We have no record of any emails or telephone calls from the customer indicating any issues with this account. The allegation by the consumer that our sales representative got a maintenance workers name and started shipping product is patently false. On December 23, 2021, one of our sales representatives spoke to *********** from *******************************. Mr. ****** told our rep that he was the maintenance supervisor for 3 years and took care of 256 apartments. Because it was a new account, our shipping manager called Mr. ****** to confirm the order. He went over the type and color of the lights he wanted. When asked about where the bill goes, he stated the shipping and billing address were the same. The product was shipped on December 24, 2021 and delivered on December 28, 2021. On February 8, 2022, an invoice was emailed to *************, Property Manager. On February 9, 2022, Mr. ******* paid the invoice by credit card and asked that future invoices be sent by email. Since the first order, three additional orders have been placed. All of which were shipped, billed, and paid for. Nothing else will be shipped per the customer's request. Consumer Response /* (2000, 7, 2022/12/15) */ (The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.) **** has no recollection of this order. I have paid the invoices in the past, which was my fault. I assumed they were legit--did not find out until later they are charging four times the amount of normal light bulbs and shipping automatically even though, according to their statement, we placed an order once a year ago. Nothing in the order or on the invoice indicates this is a recurring shipment. It's an extremely shady business practice. Our legal team is investigating to make sure no other communities of ours have fallen for this scam.

    04/19/2022

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/04/18) */ On march 18, 2022, a sales representative called the maintenance director of customer who agreed to place an order for lights. The order was shipped and billed. On April 18, 2022, we received this complaint. We have no record of the call from the Maintenance director asking to return the product. Had we known we would have picked up the product immediately. Federal Express will pick up the product tomorrow and we will void the invoice when it returns. Consumer Response /* (2000, 7, 2022/04/19) */ (The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.) Sales rep sales says that product will be picked up by Fed Ex, but have been waiting a month for the return labels to be sent.
