This complaint has been investigated and the information reported by ***** ***** does not represent the facts.  Federal law prohibits Michigan First Credit Union from confirming if someone is a member.  Thus, we cannot confirm whether Mr. ***** is a member of the Credit Union, nor respond in this forum to the allegations in his complaint. It is our belief that Mr. ***** may be referring to another Financial Institution. We have attempted to contact Mr. ****** but unfortunately the contact information provided in the BBB complaint is not accurate as the call results in a busy signal. Mr. ***** is welcome to contact us directly for resolution of the alleged concern. Until we have received further information, we consider the matter resolved.

Im not liable for this debt with Michigan first credit union. I do not have a contract with Michigan first credit union. They did not provide me with the original contact as requested.

This complaint has been investigated and the information reported by ****** ***** does not represent the facts.  Federal law prohibits Michigan First Credit Union from confirming if someone is a member.  Thus, we cannot confirm whether ******** is a member of the Credit Union, nor respond in this forum to the allegations in his complaint.  It is the Credit Unions practice that when a loan is originated following a valid credit application, balances are established and payments are made or not made, and appropriately reported to a credit bureau in accordance with the loan contract and federal and state law.

This complaint has been investigated and the information reported by *********************************** does not accurately represent the facts.  Federal law prohibits us from confirming if someone is a member of the Credit Union. Unfortunately, we cannot confirm whether **************** is a member of the Credit Union, let alone respond to the allegations in his complaint.  What we can say is that when an unpaid loan balance is charged off, it is sent to a third-party agency for post-charge off collection until it is paid in full.  At that point, any applicable credit and financial reporting is appropriately modified.

Michigan First was my credit Union from 4/ 2024 - 7/10/2024 , the day I closed this acct due to dissatisfaction with the manner my bill pay acct was being managed which was different from the way I ask for it to be set up and administered.Of the seven payments made from my account by the bill pay ***** I realized since closing this acct , all access to this information was contained in the closed acct. I. called to the bill pay **** @ MI First On 8/26/2024 to request a copy of the seven payments made on my behalf to receive for my records for future proofs or reporting requirements etc.**** pay customer service told me that all that her **** could do was to fax me or to email me the requested documents. I restated my request for a fixed, hard copy for my records, that I didn't want a cloud based document that, I much preferred a mailed copy for my records. She reiterated her position with a repeat of allowable options. I asked to speak to a supervisor/ manager, who essentially repeated the same options as before. In hindsight I can't figure how I banked with a business like this for which basic business Practices seem to be a luxury or even small amounts of effort are in short supply. All I want is a copy of those seven payments made on my behalf. Thank you BBB for your help in this matter.********************* (P.S. The payments began in December 2023 - July 2024 . Totaling seven consecutive rent payments )

At Michigan First Credit Union, I discovered that a substantial amount of money was fraudulently withdrawn from my account at an ATM located at the ****** and ******* branch on 5/18. Upon discovering the unauthorized transaction, I immediately contacted the fraud department at ****, and they advised me to visit a branch in person to resolve the issue. Following their advice, I visited the branch on the same day. At that time, I was unaware of the specific location where the fraudulent withdrawal had occurred.During my visit to the branch, I spoke with *************************. Unfortunately, ****************** informed me that there was nothing that could be done to assist me. She did not offer any solutions or provide me with a dispute form to contest the fraudulent transaction.Unsatisfied with this response, I proceeded to the ********* location of **** later that day. At this branch, I was informed that the fraudulent withdrawal had taken place at the ****** and ******* location. The staff at the Southgate branch were more helpful and provided me with a dispute form to officially contest the fraudulent transaction, something that ****************** did not offer during my initial visit. The Southgate branch staff also advised me to file a police report, which would allow for the retrieval of camera footage to identify the individual responsible for the fraudulent withdrawal. I have followed their instructions and am currently awaiting the results of the investigation.Given these circumstances, I believe that there may be an internal issue contributing to these fraudulent activities. My suspicion arises from the fact that other customers have reported similar experiences of fraudulent withdrawals and lack of assistance from the **** fraud department, as evidenced by numerous ****** and Yelp reviews.I urge the BBB to investigate these incidents further, as the pattern of fraudulent activity and inadequate response from the credit union's fraud department is highly concerning.

This complaint has been investigated and the information reported by ****************** does not represent the facts.  Federal law prohibits us from confirming if someone is a member of the Credit Union.  Unfortunately, we cannot confirm whether ****************** is a member of the Credit Union, let alone respond to the allegations in her complaint.  What we can say is that, the type of situation described is common in the financial services market. Financial institutions set up various security procedures that customers/members are asked to follow to prevent these types of situations, and customers/members are required to maintain proper security over their personal information.  Some of the security measures actually contain language telling the customer/member to NEVER share this information with anyone. When customers/members willingly share that information, despite being told not to, they are violating their customer/member agreements and are responsible for the transactions.
