I swiped my card @ a hotel in ********, ** on 4/9/22, I immediately cancelled the room as the accommodations were not what was represented online. The hotel refunded my money. I waited the 3 business they told me it would take for funds to be deposited back to my card. The credit union is yelling me that I need documentation on the hotels letterhead saying they won't charge the card. *************** is saying that's a corporate thing and their not authorized to do anything remotely close to that. They say they have released the funds and did everything necessary on their end. The credit union is saying that this is their policy. I've never heard of a banking institution requiring the customer to do the leg work to verify a refunded charge.

Unfortunately, due to the public nature of this forum, we are unable to provide any details for the issue ****************** references.  He has also filed a complaint with the State of Michigan.  We will be fully responding to that complaint shortly.

I have been a memeber of Michigan First Credit Union since ****. The week of February 9th, I received a call from Michigan First Stating they were locking my account because someone attempted to empty my account of $20,000. I instantly rushed to a Michigan First Credit inside of Krogers to get information and change my account. The representative changed my account number that evening. The attempt to steal my money came from Coinbase.com Within the next two days, using the new account, that I hadn't even had time to really access someone took thousands of dollars from my account using coinbase.com. They also initiated a loan request through Michigan First . I called the company and they changed my account again, and requested I come in to receive the new information.I went into the branch the morning on Feb 16th, By then the SECOND NEW ACCOUNT had already been comprised. I didn't even know this account number at all. The representative ********************* reviewed the details and became alarm that this account to have been comprised. She researched for awhile. The loan department contacted me while sitting at Michigan First. They wanted to talk about the loan. I let them know this was another fraudulent request. The representative spoke to the Risk Team. She then came back and stated that they would only ALLOW me to keep a saving account with the credit union. I let them know that I would be closing my account, because they are not doing anything to securing my money. They cut a check for what was remaining in my account was $14,000 or so dollars. I asked what about the rest of my money that was taken out my account fraudulently. They said they had to file a investigation that would take **** business days. I had $20,000 or so in my savings account, and $3,200 in my checking account. The assistant manager or anyone did not even have any empathy for this happening to me. I am senior citizen on a limited income. It is now March 4th and I have yet to get my money.
