I sent two referrals to the optima plasma with my code they tried to scan it once they couldn't get it to scan so they told him that they wasn't going to try it anymore and that they wasn't going to use it and I don't think that's right because I sent them y'all off of referral bonus I think I should get it and I didn't get itBusiness response

Upon review of *****'s visits, she would not qualify for the referral bonus due to her not donating two times as of 17 FEB 23. Upon review of the alleged referred donor's information, no referral code information was populated. There is no way at the center level to track if a referral code was provided during registration of the referred donor.Initial Complaint

On 1/06/23 I went there to donate plasma for $100 compensation. I passed the pre screening and allowed to donate. On the donation floor, the worker that tried to put the needle in my arm to collect the donation could not do it correctly. She also needed help with the donor immediately prior to me. The worker that did it wrong asked for help from another employee. The request for help was denied. I requested to both of them and a manager to try a second time, which is allowed, and they refused to allow me to follow through with the donation. I was told that I would receive full payment, which is $100. As of 1/11/23 I still have not received owed payment. I called today and explained everything to who answered the phone and was told I would receive a return phone call by their end of business. They never called. I want to be paid what is owed, $100.Business response

Other than the first donation as a new donor, donors are not guaranteed full payment unless they complete their donation. The manager on duty paid out $5.00 due to him donating no plasma at all. Donors are not owed anything here without a full donation. This information is posted throughout the center for all donors to see. However, a payment of $95 was completed on 18JAN23 to resolve his issue but the donor could not be reached. An email was sent to inform the donor today.Initial Complaint

On Friday the 28th 2022, I walked into my local Octapharma and did the standard procedure. About a 2 hour process. They took the plasma and all was good. I was issued a pay card which I had no idea money compensation was even a part of the process. Apparently 30$ was supposed to be issued to that pay card. They claimed a 2 hour delay was possible. Its been 24 hrs since I donated. I called the bank who backs the pay card and they also claimed that Octapharma never sent a payment. When I contacted them back, they werent professional but emotional in their responses. Its not secret that this company gets you cash same day. The methheads atm. I dont have recommended Octapharma for donating plasma. Find a place that cares about the medicine, not just pumping out pay cards.Business response

The ************ center attempted to resolve this issue, but the payment was made to the Donor by the ************** center. The Donor came into the ************ center on January 26th, made a big commotion, and had to be escorted out of the building. The Donor threatened litigation, and policy is to decline donations by the Donor until litigation is resolved. The Donor was informed of this policy and refused to leave the building. It was stated by management at that time we would have to call the police, and the Donor got very belligerent using curse words and calling management ugly names. The Donor is not welcome back to donate until any litigation is resolved.

My husband and I recently visited a center in ******* ** ( ************************************************************) and the way we were treated and others as well was unacceptable. I was there personally for 3 hours in which a whole hour consisted of the staff going back and forth with an error code in there computer and no one new how to fix it. I was in the medical examination room for an entire hour then finally the manager went to the next room and said the code meant. They told me I was unable to donate and that my time there would not be compensated. As I was waiting for my husband, one of the staff members began to ask everyone in the seats what they were waiting for. She told the gentleman next to me something, then came over to me and I told her I was unable to donate (which she already knew because she was one of the staff members trying to figure out the computer error.) I told her this and she said I was not allowed to wait there. I told her we had no car at the moment due to repairs and she still kicked me out. I told her I can not be outside roaming around for 2 hours until my husband finishes because I had no where to go and I told her if something happened to me they wouldn't be responsible. She still told me I couldn't stay inside to wait for my husband who was in the process of donation. My husband spoke with the manager and explained the situation and said there was no way I could wait inside for him. They simply didn't care. My husband stopped his donation process and we ended up leaving. They treated us very unethical and also some of the people in the lobby unfortunately we're homeless residents but they were qualified donors and they even kicked them out after there donation in a really embarrassing way. I understand the homelessness in the area but you don't know these people's stories, they were not making a scene and they were respectful to be treated like that.We need compensation for our treatment and time spent there that we lost.Initial Complaint

The Donor is temporarily deferred for ear piercing that he was using a band-aid to cover it up. The Donor will be eligible to return February of 2023. He was made aware of this when he was deferred. OPI must follow our SOPs, or else the *** would shut us down.

On December 2nd, I went into Octapharma Plasma to make my biweekly donation. After I was done, I was told I would get $60.; however, based on my number of donations within the past 35 days, I wouldve received $75. When I asked the employee, she informed she informed me that they had just change the rates and she was not sure if they would remain at the reduced rate. I do not have a problem with the decreased rates IF I was notified about it prior to my donation, I was not, there was no signage posted at the business, I didnt receive an email, nor was it updated on the app. Below is a screenshot of the app indicating that my next estimated payment is $75 (taken after I donated today, Dec 2nd). I tried to call corporate, but I was unable to reach a representative. I am requesting to be reimbursed $15 from Octapharma plasma. Thank you, *************************Initial Complaint

I didn't get paid my full donation of $100 even though they withdrawn my blood and played in my arm with an needle to find an vein and that was very painful, and i told the person it was hurting but she continued to play in my arm with an needle to find an vein and the machine was acting up also. they wanted to re-stick me with another needle to try to give me my blood back, but I did not want to do that because the last needle was harmful to me and i did not want them to play in my arm again. so I talked to the manger, and he said even if I did chosen to be re-stick with an other needle to get my blood back, I would have not get paid either way, they would only pay me $5 for the first sticking of the needle and i would get defer for 54 days. even though they took an lot of blood from me and sit there and played in my arm with an needle that was harmful to me and i told them that and they continued play in my arm, and i they on paid me $5 for that whole event. so i would like my full fund of $100 or I'm going to ***Initial Complaint

I received injuries from my Octapharma blood donation at the *** Nuys, **. location, which made my entire left arm bruise up and turn purple for over a month, thus making it UNSAFE and impossible to complete my 7 donations within the 35 day promotional period. Even though I was physically harmed, scared for my health and life, Occtapharma thinks it is okay to compensate me unfairly for this treatment. I spoke to at least 2 Octapharma admin and was told based on a ridiculous technicality there was nothing more they could do for me. the 35 days- NO EXCEPTIONS even when the company ***** me. EVEN WHEN IT IS UNSAFE TO DONATE, I SHOULD HAVE IN ORDER TO COMPLETE THE 35 DAY PROMO period. I feel this is dishonest, CRIMINAL, disingenuous, and outright false, and completely at the company's discretion to right this wrong. I was unfairly compensated for my donation this morning based on this technicality. I am sick of being screwed over by unfair technicalities, this type of overreach makes me disgusted and sad for the exploitation I witnessed today on myself. I am hispanic, 1st Generation AMERICAN, not a criminal and I will not tolerate this violation of my human rights, personal safety, and my dignity in the light of this BLOOD VAMPIRE company.Business response

***************** had spoken with the Donor about this situation via phone call 2 days before the Donor filed this complaint with the BBB. ***************** was attempting to explain the situation, but the Donor would not listen and continued to curse on the phone call. ***************** had no choice but to end the call at that time. Upon receipt of this complaint from the BBB, ***************** once again attempted to call the Donor on the phone several times but the Donor never answered and there was no way to leave a voicemail. ***************** has put a hold on the Donor's account in case he comes back in to the donation center, so that they can try to speak with the Donor again about this situation.
