I agree with all of the posters. SafeOpt is spam. They presume to contact you with no prior consent. This is invasive and, yes, creepy. Have we no longer any right to privacy? My information is mine alone and unless I am willing to share it, no one is *********** buy or sell it. Were I able to get the private email addresses of the ********** of ******** they would receive a relentless barrage of emails to help them understand what they do on a regular basis. JOIN THE ***** ACTION SUIT like I did.AddShoppers Response

Thank you for your feedback. We value privacy highly, which is why we include not just an unsubscribe link in each email, but also a link to more fully manage your personal information. While most recipients of our emails are pleased to receive an offer from a brand they love, we understand that is not always the case. We have unsubscribed your email address from future offers.Review from Kristen W

I browsed a website one evening without entering any of my personal information whatsoever. The next day, MY FIANCE received an email ad from this same company saying that they noticed him browsing and sent a discount code. He then asked me about it since he had no idea what this company was. This is a COMPLETE invasion of my privacy and wrong on all levels. I should be able to browse a company's website without the company (via SafeOpt) stealing the personal information of the owner of the WiFi that I am using and sending them unsolicited emails. It DOES NOT MATTER that he can "opt out" when HE NEVER OPTED IN in the first place!!! This is truly a disgusting practice. What if I was looking for something personal and not meant to be seen by the other members of my household? What if I was shopping for a surprise gift for someone?? WHAT ABOUT WOMEN IN ABUSIVE SITUATIONS??????? You cannot explain this away. I will be getting in on any upcoming class action lawsuits (like you have already had against you).AddShoppers Response

Thank you for your feedback. We use a proprietary technology to email individuals we believe are interested in offers from our customers. Our emails do not contain personal information, only an offer from a company. Sometimes we miss, and another person may receive an email offer instead of the person interested in the product. We apologize that this happened in your case. We have unsubscribed your email.Review from Not G

Safeopt sending spam about a random brand, to which I have no affiliation or desire for interaction. This is textbook spam. There is no way AddShoppers can/should be allowed to pretend otherwise.AddShoppers Response

Thank you for your feedback. SafeOpt works hard to match people with money-saving offers from brands they already love and use, and do not send random email blasts. It appears in this case we missed our ***** We have suppressed your email address from receiving further offers.Review from Nikita B

I am disturbed that AddShoppers/"SafeOpt" is able to, and does, collect data about me that I consider private. I did not consent to emails from this company, it should be Opt-In rather than Opt-out, this is where I have issue with SafeOpt's practices, why is the burden put on the consumers to Opt-Out when AddShoppers is not being transparent to consumers about their practices? If I am made aware of SafeOpt at a company as an OPTIONAL CHECKBOX that I HAVE TO CHECK along with a CLEAR DESCRIPTION OF PRACTICES and the PURPOSE and what INFORMATION is being reveiled, then that would be absolutely acceptable to me IF I decieded to Opt-In, and we might even do that, but to have it DONE SECRETLY WITHOUT CONSENT, that is what is completey WRONG.The companies selling our data are also to blame and it does expose a deeper question, why is private data allowed to be shared with anyone? The law needs to be changed to prevent this type of invasion without consent.AddShoppers Response

Thank you for your feedback regarding AddShoppers. We work hard to bring together shoppers with brands they love thousands of times per day in a way that not only complies with applicable privacy laws, but also gives transparency and control to shoppers. For example, we include one-click unsubscribe links to both the top and bottom of every email and clearly identify ourselves as the source of the email. We believe this is a more transparent alternative than the common practice of selling an email address back to the brand, or pretending to ************ itself sending the email. We have unsubscribed your email address from all future communications.Review from Carol S

So unethical to use my IP address to spam me. You didn't have my permission to send me email and it's not my duty to unsubscribe to your spam.I see there's a class action lawsuit against you for this practice and I'm glad. This needs to be shut down.AddShoppers Response

Thank you for the feedback on AddShoppers. We understand that not everyone wishes to receive a money-saving offer from **, and so we make it simple to stop future emails. We place one-click unsubscribe links at both the top and bottom of every message. We have placed your email address on our do not contact list.Review from John P

AddShoppers has been trying to get me to partner with them for a year. I am not interested. I have asked three different representatives to stop emailing me about becoming a partner, but I keep getting emails requesting I get on a call to discuss a partnership. I've had to go into my email server and set up various filters to send their emails to spam since they do not honor anti-spam laws. This violation of anti-spam laws is just another red flag to add to all the others listed here.AddShoppers Response

Thank you for the feedback on AddShoppers. As an advertising technology company we recognize the importance of both the letter and the spirit of the laws regulating sending emails, and have processes in place to follow the requests of businesses and consumers to opt-out of future contact. Unfortunately in this instance, due to a technical error these processes failed to prevent additional mailings from being sent after an opt-out request was made, and we regret the error. In addition, it appears that a second email address associated with the user was not identified, and it may have been contacted as well. We have now blocked both emails from receiving additional communications.Review from Dane S

If you are a business owner, do not hire AddShoppers. Their sale attribution calculations were incorrect for every month we worked with them. Based on their calculations, their software attributed to $10's of thousands of dollars, but when you compare these metrics to ****** analytics, shopify analytics, and others, you will find a HUGE 80%+ discrepancy. Their attribution definitions are extremely ridiculous. For example - if an email is sent on day 1 and the user completes a purchase 30+ days after opening the email, this conversion is attributed to the initial email. This directly contradicts the contract that I signed with them. When I called them out on this, they pretended it was a mistake. However, attribution discrepancies happened month after month. I kept asking them, "why would someone read your email and not use the 20% off discount code?" and they could never explain why their attributions did not match any tracking conversions stemming from AddsShopper emails.AddShoppers Response

AddShoppers believes theres been a misunderstanding on how our service operates. This description of our services is not accurate. Consistent with our contract, we provide a transparent customer dashboard showing attribution details and bill based on that data, not third party data. We tried to resolve misunderstandings via conversations with this customer and made significant concessions to try to meet halfway. Our goal is to have satisfied customers. We welcome discussing further if helpful.
