On January 9, I attempted contacting the dermatology practice where I've been treated by Dr. Alexandra H. since 2023. Multiple telephone calls that day and since have received no answer, and the practice answering machine has been unable to accept messages. I have also messaged the clinic through its AthenaHealth portal--the messages are attached. The first received no answer but was simply closed by someone at the practice. I was only informed today (Jan. 22) that the doctor has left the practice. At no point did I receive a practice departure letter informing me of the change, something which has been standard practice at every medical facility I've visited in the past. After 13 days of attempted contact I have only received a curt apology for "inconvenience." I've rarely had the experience of being treated so negligently by the administrators of a medical office, and I don't believe any other patient should be put through this, given the gravity of the stakes involved in medical care. The dermatology clinic in question is located at: ** * 18th Street New York, NY 10011 And the phone number is: ###-###-####Initial Complaint

On 8/26/24, I went for a physical exam with Dr. C. of Summit Health (SH) which included getting annual blood work. SH asked me to sign a waiver for certain blood tests that may not be covered. I asked before signing if there was a problem with payment from ******** would the doctor do what was necessary to collect this on my behalf and I was assured by the office staff that they would. I received a bill from SH for 4 blood tests which were medically necessary due to the fact that I have been experience vertigo and it was suggested by a Neurologist to have checked when I went for my physical. Their billing dept. was very inexperienced as I have had these tests done before at Quest and never saw a bill. I was told by ******** that the initial billing sent it was incorrect. I was told we would have to appeal. I called and spoke with SH and explained what I was told. They said they know it was sent in wrong and they would resend. Claim was denied. SH sent in a letter of Medical necessity in Sept. but not covering all tests. Claim denied. SH sent in another letter of medical necessity covering other tests and duplicate tests, very inexperienced. Claim denied. Now I am being billed, calling both ******** and Megan, office staff at Dr. C. office and am being lied to. Upon calling both today, 1/15/25, they are both referring to the Waiver I signed. Basically, ******** nor SH is interested in helping me for which I pay over$650 a month in premiums. They know that the Waiver will get them paid and have given up trying to get that money from ********. I will never use their lab again, as Quest has never billed me even if I have signed a Waiver. Very uncaring for a doctor's office. Very inexperienced in billing. I know many others that have complaints with SH billing and I have learned my lesson. I am going to an attorney and filing a complaint with NJ Consumer Affairs. Disgraceful! Don't let them get away it! Will send Waiver as soon as I getInitial Complaint

1. Summit Health is charging me a copayment for a doctor's office visit on November 14, 2024, with Dr. M. that I did not have. 2. Summit Health keeps trying to charge me copays for office visits that I have receipts to show I paid. Saying it's because there was a visit in the past that I did not pay but will not tell what date that visit occurred.Initial Complaint

I contacted customer to discuss a physician who did not provide treatment and ignored my reports if symptoms. After a second opinion, I discovered he did not even test me for hallmark indicators, which later were discovered by my new physician. This lack of care resulted in further damage to my thyroid and I now require higher doses of medication to function. I contacted customer support several times and have been ignored. I have never dealt with a business like this who simply does not provide patient customer care.Initial Complaint

I am rejecting this response because:I expect the business - MY DOCTOR THAT HAS ALL MY MEDICAL HISTORY AND personal information - to be notified that her office refused me an appointment and I SHOULD BE CONTACTED - not a lame response to BBB with NOW a working number and place to send an EM**L- I phoned and searched and sent NUMEROUS requests to speak to someone and was provided false information.
The doctors office has NEVER reached out to explain.

When I am sick, I expect to be able to get an appointment with my doctor or one within the same conglomerate (or whatever you call what you've merged into) - I should not be told to go to Urgent Care or have to travel
elsewhere nor provide my entire medical history again.
The initiation of ** to try to communicate or explain is NOT what I expect for health care that I pay for nor having to repeat myself numerous times because the human that answers is seemingly answering from abroad with minimal knowledge of the english language. Also not what I expect nor want for my health issues.

in January I went to Dr ******** in Axia Health and my pap smear came up abnormal. Thus, I was asked to do a follow up on a pap smear in June. Later that week, I received a letter from them saying that they were not accepting Horizon Blue C BS anymore, so I decided to make an appointment with another gynecologist in my area, which I was able to make in September 17th, 2024 at Summit Health. However, I did not know about codes, so I just made an appointment as a regular pap smear. For this reason, my insurance is refusing to pay for the lab work done, which I. needed, and summit health is refusing after many attempts to change the code for a follow up.Business response

On 8/19/24 at 8:30 AM I had an appointment at Summit Medical Group, PA (SMC) in ************* to discuss hearing aids with audiologist ****** *****. I decided to proceed, and was told that the cost was $6,600. I paid a 50% deposit that day as requested on my credit card in the *** of $3,300. I rec'd the hearings aids on Sept. 16, 2024 and paid the remaining balance of $3,300 via credit card that day. ***** (Audiology Benefits Mgr at site) said the claim would be sent to Aenta on my behalf. But *** sent the claim to ***** for $6,600 stating that they shoud be paid the $6,600 when I should be reimbursed since I already paid SMG in full! This is double billing and this was not our agreement. Now SMC states that I have to wait until Aetna reimbursed them then I need to wait *********************************************************** about 11-19-24 and that is unacceptable. *** refuses to issue me a check and will not stop the claim with Aetna so they will receive $13,200 for hearing aids from both me and Aetna and will not reimburse me. I called and left vms for ***************** and ********************** and spoke with ***** the ********** Audiology Benefit Mgr today indicating that she needs to retract the claim to ***** and have a check ready for me in four business days in the amount of $6,600 to reimburse me for the hearing aids that I will return that day. Please help me. Thank you.Business response
