    I was a member of Matrix Fitness for over 5 years. On Nov 20th 2022 I responded in-person to cancel my membership and I spoke with *********After a brief conversation, **** explained that the last billing cycle had already past and that he could not refund my fee for Nov-Dec. He then explained that Dec 20th would be my last day to work out. If I decided to return to the gym after Dec 20th, I would have to pay the start-up fee again because it would essentially be a new membership. We signed a paper form, and wrote Dec. 20th at the top of the form. I kept a yellow copy and he kept the white copy.The last time I worked out was prior to Dec 20th 2022. Fast forward to May 2023 and I noticed that I was still getting billed for my gym membership. $55.23 for 6 months.I called **** and explained my situation. He canceled my membership "effective immediately" and asked if I had a copy of the form that we signed. I told him that I moved to a different apartment and the paperwork was lost in the shuffle.He claimed that he checked his records and said that he did not have a copy either. By the end of July after multiple phone calls, **** tells me that he would process the refund.Its now Oct 2023, I still have yet to receive any reimbursement for the Gym memebership dues.I spoke with ***** the "owner" ***** tells me that they do not use paper forms and that **** is claiming that no paperwork was ever filled out, because they have not used paper forms for a long time. Even though through the email conversation, they acknowledge that a written cancellation form exits.After going back and forth with *****, he tries to offer me 8 months of a free membership for the gym, stating, "you'll be back to our gym don't worry. No one likes to work out in their building's gym."I don't live in the area of his gym. I will not be returning to his gym. I don't want 8 months of a free membership. I want the 6 months of the gym membership dues they collected without my permission.
