Jan 2023 I had my Hyundai ****** towed her from ******* because my car had not been operational since October of 2022 and I relocated to **. I finally got an appt with Empire Hyundai in Jamaica for Jan 3rd 2023. Towed the car there and they kept my car more than a month with the end result being cylinder misfiring. So instead on repairing all cylinders the dealership only replaced one cylinder and spark plugs. 2024 same issue begins to happen with the way car had been driving before stopping completely again dealership had my car 3weeks one time and more than a month again to tell me my transmission needed to be replaced. If they had fixed it properly this wouldnt have had to been replaced. Then again now 6months later my car not running at all because the same cylinder that was supposed to have been repaired and replaced has now misfired and spark plugs are damamged again. Hyundai corporate refuses to honor any work done by any dealership because Im told they are independently owned so theres nothing they can do. My complaint is how I be responsible if the work that was done wasnt suffice in the first place and now they refuse to work on the car because it is 1400 miles past 100k.Customer response

I've been spending a lot of money on motor oil and time in order to prevent the car from stalling. I've been taking my car to Empire Hyundai of Jamaica for the past year and have paid for testing oil consumption twice without proper resolution. Since then, I continue having to place oil in the car and it continues to shake. In May 2023, we changed coil #3 with **** and was told there will be a warranty of 12 months. My son was there and was informed it was #3 and the receipt verifies that. In December 2024, the car started shaking again and this time they held onto our car for multiple days even though we called every day for about a week before getting a response. I was then told the cost will be ******* for parts and labor to fix everything to resolve the issues. It was paid but I followed up with **** who angrily informed me that ******* did not look at the notes for the car and had grossly overcharged us. I asked for a refund and not a credit and he informed that he could not do that but will speak to the manager and get back to us. We never told how much we were overcharged by and they never got back to us. On May 14, 2024, the car was shaking again and they said coil #3 needed to be changed again. I pointed out that I am still under the 12 month warranty but they refused to change it without charging me. They said that the credit I was given (******) would be the charge for everything. The car was shaking again on May 17th and I had a mechanic friend check the coil and he said it wasn't changed. This is a constant issue with them and I know I have been overcharged at this point. Additionally, Hyundai already had a lawsuit they lost for the issues I am dealing with and they acted like they did not know that this model car was having this issue. I would like to be reimbursed for the total cost they charged in December due the amount of money I am still required to spend on these issues that were supposedly going to be resolved by all these charges.Initial Complaint

having failed the government inspection of my vehicle, April 10., because of a check engine light. I went to the service department of the company which sold me the vehicle, to remove the check engine light, at 8:30am, April 11. they told me that a module needed to be replaced and they would rotate the tires etc. the price quoted was $1700+ After not hearing from them for four days I called and was told that they replaced the part they thought was bad but the check engine light, which is why I brought the car there, in the first place, was not corrected, and the technician was unable to find the problem. I got several text messages, over the next few days telling me that the technician had not solved the problem as yet. Finally on Friday April 26, 5,06pm I got a text message saying it was a connecter that was the reason the check engine light was on and they replaced it. Now they charged me for a check engine light which obviously was the connector all along, by there obvious finding, but they charged me for the misdiagnosed part anyway. Conclusion:If the technician was competent he would 1. Not have misdiagnosed the problem, in the first place. since it was was just to replace a connector.2. He would not have spent so many days to find the problem.. Which now makes me want to find a company with better diagnostic practices. (Auto Zone could have found the problem easier, I have seen them do it.)3. I would not have been saddled with $495 for unnecessaries, Plus over $1400 for a part I did not need, and was not why I brought the car there.. I would not have paid $2406.06 for a check engine light caused by a faulty connector.Initial Complaint

This dealership uses bait and switch tactics. They refused to sell me a car at the price listed on their website because I was paying cash, despite knowing I was paying cash before arriving. In their opinion this is not false advertising because it says "Must finance through dealer when applicable" in fine print at the bottom of their website, even though this term is clearly about 3rd party financing. Financing is not applicable in a cash transaction.Customer response

This dealership sold us a car with faulty tires, a defective trunk, no wheel locks for repairs, a missing key, and the car was filthy and smelled of cigarette and feet. The salesman claims that the car was thoroughly cleaned and a 100 point inspection was done on the car, however that is not the case. I told the sales person specifically about the tires and the cigarette smoke because I am going to drive an infant in the car and he disregarded all of my needs. All they wanted to do was to pressure me to buy the car.Initial Complaint

On October 25 me and my uncle visited this dealership to buy a potential car. After test driving and hearing their absurd prices my uncle decided to not move forward with the deal. Ever since that date (11/20 As of today) I have been getting constant calls from that sales agent everyday regarding if we are still interested. Worst part, these call are coming from unknown or no caller id numbers, so I am unable to block them. Please help me with this situation. I am being harassed by this desperate sales agent everyday.agent info:Name: ******************* ************** ****************Initial Complaint

10/9/2023 Lease a Hyundai ******* limited for $667 month, with $4000 down and $4000 for my trade in. So end of the lease i will end up paying $32012 for a vehicle which MSRP is $44000. I have a very good credit score so i shouldn't be getting a price like this. This whole dealer ship is shady. They didn't provide me any selling price of the car. Came out with weird quote which is no where near to there website price. I was in rush to go to work that's why didn't get time to dig into the paper work and price break down. I am willing to go to court. They are not transparent at all with there business, i am sending a letter to Hyundai also about this matter. I don't want to pay this amount of money for a lease Hyundai. I am wiling to take legal action against them if necessary.Customer response

Recently I was on the Hyundai automobile website, chose a model and used their calculation platform for the model I chose. I was offered a free, credit check which would not harm my rating according to them. I proceeded to enter info such as name, email and address and submitted. Less than 2 minutes or so after that I received a call from the dealership and the sales woman went on and on with her pitch until stopped her. I stated to her I was inquiring about my credit score as stated on your website and did not ask to speak to a sales person, I said to her that credit score pitch is highly misleading. I was infuriated that they would use this to gain sales information and stated this to her. I also stated to her that whatever they are doing they should cease doing so. The credit agency if I remember correctly was Eqiufax. In closing I DIDN'T receive my credit score. Thank you.Initial Complaint

Got a used Hyundai ******** from them. It took the whole day for them to process **. (11am-around 8pm). Our agent ****** offered to get auto insurance for ** which turned out to be a scam. We were scammed of $1500. He (******) asked us to pay in cash, and then used a credit card. Every info they put in our policy was wrong (phone number, address, driving history, only registered my husband in the policy, which is supposed to be the 2 of us) resulting to getting a higher quote and in turn getting cancelled by the insurance company since we can't provide documents (of previous insurance) because they falsified the application. We are new immigrants starting our lives in the US, which they know which is why they might have taken advantage of us. Goin back, the policy was cancelled. The insurance then refunded (to the card) the amount we paid in cash. So we did not get a refund at all because it was returned to the card. Now the insurance company ************) is asking us to pay 1400$ because we did not complete the policy. So we got scammed of 1500$ and suddenly we have a debt of 1400$. This company gave us nothing but stress and headache. When you try to reach out, they'll give out reasons like they used an insurance agent who they only know "*****" is the name, or pass you to another person or they say they'll get back to you. The manager, financial manager and Empire ********** are well aware of our situation but they're not doing anything about it. Now *********** is harassing us to pay and referred us to a collections agency. I want to get refunded
