Called in for my daughter with an ear infection. The ** got on the phone and advised he couldnt do nothing. We needed to take her somewhere else. I was literally on the phone for less than 2 min. Just for him to tell me that. I was charged almost $53 to be told to take her somewhere else. So now I have to pay more money. I demand a refund this is none sense. To take someone money like that and tell them you cant help them.Business response

Teladoc is a scam. I told my symptoms and he automatically said I have an ***. A month prior to the call I already got tested and tested negative. Got tested again after the call and negative again. Also not even sexually active so its not possible for me to have an ***. Yet, he still submitted the diagnosis as unspecified *** and asked no questions but said call teladoc to request a refund. I called them and they stated per their policy they cant refund even after explaining everything. Im not stupid to think I can get treated for an *** over the phone when I know the doctor would need to know which *** you have to get treated. They keep throwing the policy in my face saying sometimes the doctor cant help which I understand but in my case he didnt even attempt to help just automatically ruled it as an ***.Customer response

1/12/2025. Teladoc had my new insurance and they had to process it, it had changed. When they do that, they create you a new account, and you lose all access to your documents, notes, and health care providers. I lost all my appointments for therapy and psychiatry. They are unable to re-instate appointments or contact my providers. Therefore I lost continuity of care. For someone with mental illness and suicidal thoughts, this is a big deal. This should not be legally allowed. There should be merging or updating insurance without losing access to your providers. This is unsafe practice. This causes more mental health distress. This causes disruption in medications.Business response

I spoke with teledoc 12/23 and received a prescription for benzonate for a cough. I requested a refill as per the company's website and upon calling teledoc again I am being told I need to schedule another visit. My insurance pays the visit however for principal purposes why should they pay for another doctor's visit when your web site FAQ clearly states you can do refills. I requested to speak to a supervisor twice and was told I could not. The supervisor's name that refused to take my call is named ******* ******. She pushed back on the *** ***eating a refill could not be done. I asked several times to speak her and she refused to take my call. Absolutely false. I will also file a complaint with my husband 's employer in hopes of them ending the relationship with ******* to seek a provider that will give the service that the company is paying for.Business response

I am sure if I call the poor customer service *** will not know anything and get caught up in the mess the company created. They need to contact me and address the issues I have. They need to explain why a supervisor 2 times would not take my call and mainly explain to me why I couldn't receive a refill per the company policy as stated on their website. They are billing twice for the same service and it is completely unethical and illegal.

December 30th 2024 3:57PM EST, I set an phone appointment with a Teledoc Doctor (or Nurse.) The call came in about an hour later. I explained that I had just recovered from a flu and was just starting to get symptoms for Bronchitis, which I get chronically. Nothing serious. I explained that this happens every fall. I explained I had been tested for COVID and more and it was diagnosed as just thee flu. The nurse, ******** *******, I think, who spoke to me was in a bad mood. Being sick I was in a better mood. I only mention this because she refused to listen and kept saying very belittling things. Like,"Well you might think you have whatever, but I have the degree." Wow! ok.... I was just trying to explain my diagnoses with chronic bronchitis. It grew worse and worse and the questions she asked had no relevance. A explained I was unable to go to an urgent care because of my location. She started cutting of my answers and I felt ignored. She said they couldn't help and I gave up and hung up the phone while telling my co-worker forget this. As a psychologist I believe she was just upset before the and during the conversation. This affected her professionalism and level of care. She was very unprofessional and did not even advise me to seek medical assistance elsewhere. In the end the interaction left me feeling that TeleDoc was more worried about the money than the care. I was also scared that if I could get a simple antibiotic I could get worse. In the end I called ********* and they called a doctor from my past and mad it happen in minutes. I later received a letter telling me that I was reported as being inappropriate. I guess swearing to my co-worker as I hung up was "inappropriate". To be honest I was upset, but I am always professional. I never would have treated ANYONE the way I was spoken to. What she did was dangerous. Someone else could have given up and became very sick.Business response

My daughter used Teladoc on Dec 29th 2024 and was charged $49 even know our insurance covers these visits for free, I have tried multiple times to get that $49 back, United Healthcare called on our behalf only to be sent to voicmeial over and over- no one is helping us get that $49 charge reversed. I will never use them again, they are crooks!!!! I will be sure to spread the word. I just want my $49 back!!Customer response

I called to be helped by what they call a professional. That professional was far from, not even listening for weekday symptons I had. Not once did I say I had coughing problems and ended up getting prescribed for coughing medication. When I called back they said they were going to issue a refund of the first visits which would have given my free visit back. Instead they charged me 20 dollars and the next pro never prescribed any medication.Business response

I set up an appointment with teledoc and the provider told me I need to be seen in person. They did not provide any type of care and I had to pay a $45 copay for nothing! Its absolutely ridiculous. I will not use this service again. First and last time.Business response

Our team has reviewed your refund request, but unfortunately, we are not able to honor it per our visit policy (included below for your convenience).
Teladoc Health policy:
By requesting a visit, it does not guarantee that a physician will be able to treat you. Some conditions will require you to seek specialty or emergent services that cannot be treated by our providers. If a provider can treat you, it is also not guaranteed that a prescription will be written. Some diagnoses are treatable with over-the-counter medications or other treatment plans as ordered by the treating physician, which may include further treatment from your primary care physician. Once the visit has started, the visit fee is nonrefundable.

12/17/2024 I reviewed all the information they provided on their website to be sure that they provided the services I was needing, before making an appointment they require payment beforehand and since I dont have insurance my payment was $89.00.The information on their website states that they treat depression and can start new prescriptions to treat it. I dont have depression but I have insomnia and my prior primary care providers have prescribed me trazodone (anti-depressant) dating back to 2021. I made the appointment and attached 3 photos of past prescriptions for Trazodone showing that its a medication that have been prescribed for years and have a history with. On 12/17/24 the doctor called me at 7:00am for my appointment. I told the doctor about the reason I wanted to be seen and he replied that they dont do that, and they dont start new prescriptions they only offer refills on prescriptions and that I would need to go find a primary care provider. The call was over at 7:03am I paid $89 for a 3 minute consultation to be told sorry we dont do that. Youre advertising a lie! Afterwards I received a summary of the appointment and it states that they preformed an evaluation on my medical condition which isnt true at all! The doctor didnt even ask about anything health related and that IJust told me they dont do that. At the end he stated I voiced understanding and acknowledged their reasons for referral which they didnt refer me to anyone! They told me to find someone else. Worst company!Business response
