I have filed my taxes here for several years because taxes are something that I don’t understand well and pay for a service for peace of mind. In January 2025 I received a bill from NYS regarding my filing in 2021 being done incorrectly. This resulted in a bill of over $500. When seeking a solution. I was contacted a week after reaching out and was told it was human error and there was nothing they could do. I asked why someone should trust paying for their services if they do not claim responsibility for their own “human error”. They stated it wasn’t something they were at fault for. In my profession human error would have me in court. After saying this I was offered a small discount on the coming years filing. This statement showed me exactly how little their customers mean to them.Review from Paul

I found that in 2021 my HSA contibution was entered wrong by EG tax and I was charged an anual penalty of $480. I have beeen going to EG tax for many years so I made an appointment at the main office. I brought my last 4 years of tax returns and the ladies in your office found the mistake and rectified it with an amended tax return. No applology was offered! Instead one woman said "Gee, we should call John B*** in to let him know he missed that".

Mr. ******, I am very sorry that you had to go thru this. I am sure the person who helped with the amended return sent word to the staff member who did the original return on the mistake so he can make sure he will not make that mistake in the future. I do apologize if the staff member at the office did not seem to not care about the issue and just went along and did the amended return. Mistakes are not taken easily with myself and I would only hope that would be the case with all staff members. This was, by far, one of the worst experiences I have ever had doing my taxes! Had an appointment for the Delaware Ave location at 1pm 3/26/2022 and we left within 15 minutes of being there. The woman who was our “tax professional” had no idea how to work with **** **** or any crypto. She was given all of the information that was available and was extremely rude when we tried to explain that the sheet in front of her was a list of all transactions. She called another location who told her to input each transaction, to which her concern was cost and time. Mind you the transaction sheet was half a page long. She was very concerned about inputting information from a sheet that was right in front of her. I was asking if the one sheet attached was a 1099-MISC form and she could not answer me and continued to argue that she could not use the information directly from the reports from coin base. We packed up our stuff and left. I have never been so frustrated and talked to so nastily from the moment I entered a tax establishment in my life. If I was asked where to go, this would be the absolute LAST place I would say, and would even say you would be better off doing your taxes on your own. DO NOT go to EG! Terrible, rude service!!
