Informed me of renewal on same day as date of renewal instead of letting me know ahead of renewal date giving me the option of wanting to continue me auto renewal. Company charged my acct anyways. Sent email responding the same date they emailed me to cancel but informed me they could not cancel as I cancelled after renewal date. That is what you say now. Several rounds of correspondence with your customer service representatives communicated the exact opposite message about a refund of the membership fees. Even after advising your representative that I would have to challenge the charge with my credit card, I was denied the refund, and forced to initiate a challenge, which I ultimately won. It is unfortunate I was forced to take that step. And unnecessary. Had you initially granted the reasonable request for a refund, I would not have had to do what so many of your other customers have also had to do -- initiate a challenge.Review from terry g

signed up for a free trial. was charged a $40 renewal fee for a service I used once! Most expensive ecard I have ever seen! I requested to cancel before the end of the renewal date. Was told they would not cancel and reverse charges to my account. This is corporate thievery and I would recommend no one ever use american greetings if they want to receive fair treatment. The auto-renewal was not announced until they were able to say that it was too late to opt out of renewal. This is the biggest rip off in history and very sad that they build a business by misleading honest, hard-working people.American Greetings Corporation Response

I did not know this is an automatic renewing subscription! I asked to cancel and refund a renewal charge that day! Five days later they said they will not cancel that subscription and will not refund the renewal fee charged! BEWARE!!American Greetings Corporation Response

I was charged for an automatic renewal membership without being notified. Prior to the charge, I noticed a charge was pending on my bank account online, but it was not in the name of American Greetings. There was a category cards, that caused me to log into American Greeting to investigate. The credit card visible on American Greetings expired in 2016. The bank would not assist until after the charge negotiated. I’m not sure how my account was charged. Once the charge posted the name American Greeting was shown. I reached out to the company & was told the renewal was automatic and no refund would be made, but the renewal feature would be turned off. I never set the feature. This is irresponsible, unprofessional and should be an illegal business practice. I noticed this unacceptable business practice is being done to others, as well. I paid for a subscription without being told that auto-renew is the default setting. I was never notified that the subscription was about to be renewed, I was just sent an email after the fact. When I asked to cancel was told that subscriptions are non refundable. This is very deceptive and should be illegal.American Greetings Corporation Response

I paid for an ecard and egift card for an older friend on April 25, 2024 not knowing that he did not have the capacity to download them. Once I discovered such, I emailed to American Greeting Cards customer service, twice, asking that the order be canceled, and the egift card sent to me to deliver to my friend. I have not received any acknowledgement of receipt of my emails or any other responses from the company.American Greetings Corporation Response

Make sure the correct month is displayed in the drop-down. 5. If the recipient has not picked up the ecard, you will see "resend gift & ecard." i ordered a card for 6.99. they charged me 29.99 plus taxes and signed me up for a full year with automatic renewal. I did not give them permission to charge anything except the 6.99 for my birthday card.. I keep trying to contact them to give me the difference back and take me off the auto renewal and nobody ever returns my calls. Please help me get this sorted out.
