I bought a used car in mid December. During our negotiation on the price of the car, the finance manager mentions that he "likes to at least have people feel like they are getting value," and asks if a 7 year, 150k mile bumper-to-bumper warranty would help.

It was heard by my wife and I to be complimentary. After all, he mentioned "value" and we were negotiating price. Why would he do something that would INCREASE the amount of money we were spending? In the finance office, he never once mentions that the warranty costs money. I didn't realize that until going back through the contract, after signing everything, that we had been charged an additional $1974 for this warranty.

In my opinion, this is a deceptive sales tactic, considering it was brought up by the finance guy during negotiations for the price of the car. As a result of this interaction, I have already told two people interested in buying Mazdas to avoid Germain. I will never be back to service my vehicle, and will certainly never be buying another vehicle from Germain.

Since purchasing a Mazda CX-30 it has been burning oil. I have multiple codes on their Mazda app and they continue to deny a problem. Every forum I’ve read that other CX-30’s have been doing the same thing. Now they’re telling me to ride around with oil in my new car so I can add oil when it gets low. They have a TSB update and they recommend replacing a bad exhaust seal but continue to act like it’s not a problem burning oil. I am a traveling cardiac nurse and take call so I need a reliable vehicle.

Our team at the Mada dealership is committed to ensuring the proper working condition of Mr. ***********s CX-30 and our service manager has been in communication on appropriate timelines and benchmarks to monitor regarding his concern. I have called and emailed Mr. ********** personally to ensure he is satisfied with our plan of action, but I have not heard back as of yet. I will continue to stay involved, but I believe we will be able to satisfy Mr. ***********s concerns.

I purchased a used 2014 Chevrolet Cruze from Germain Mazda of Columbus on Saturday March 26th, 2022. I flew in from Las Vegas and picked the car up from Germain Mazda on Thursday March 31st, 2022. I immediately started having problems with the car slowing down on the interstate even when I was pressing on the gas, jolting forward, and blowing out white clouds of smoke from the exhaust. Just one day after I picked it up, on Friday April 1st, 2022, I dropped the car back off at Germain to have my concerns looked at. After Germain’s service department had the car for a week, they told me it was bad gas and it would be fine to drive to Las Vegas. I returned to Germain one week later to pick the car up to drive it to Las Vegas. I continued having problems with it on the drive from Ohio to Las Vegas, and took the car to Findlay Chevy dealership to be looked at upon arrival in Las Vegas. I was told my knock sensor needed replaced and so I paid to replace it. My check engine light came on again less than a week later and I took it back to the Findlay Chevy. They dug deeper and found that my engine needed replaced. Findlay Chevrolet suggested I contact Germain Mazda for assistance with the cost to replace the engine, as in their opinion, it was clearly a problem that had existed before I owned the car. I took the car to My Mechanic for a second opinion, and they also found the engine needed replaced. I spoke to Ron Susi at Germain Mazda about the issue, and he asked me to send the estimates over so he could decide whether to put me in a new Cruze, or to pay to replace the engine. I sent the requested documents over. After that, Germain has avoided and refused to return my calls for more than a month. After calling them almost everyday, they finally said they would pay for HALF my engine. Because both places I took it to be serviced in Vegas said it was a problem that was going on before I owned the car, I believe Germain should pay the full amount to replace the engine.

Germain Mazda has agreed to pay for an engine replacement and they are currently in contact with Findlay Chevrolet in Vegas to get the engine replacement done for me. They said they will pay Findlay directly. Thank you for your help.
