If I could give 0 stars I would. My fiancé brought my HHR in initially for a transmission leak. This turned into not only replacing axel seals and axel shafts, they said my lower control arms were bad. Our quote is what we were charged, alignment included. The invoice was a joke to read through as nothing had a clear thought or reason behind it, and now I know we were severely overcharged for services. We also had an early drop off time on a Friday. When we called at 2pm because we hadn’t heard anything, they said they were just bringing my car in. Wow, alright. Why did I have it there so early then, but okay? We had to wait to pick it up on Monday because we both had to go to work so I had no car all weekend. Fast forward about a week, my car is leaking in the same spot again. We call and set up a time (on a Friday) and take it in. The tech, ****, said transmission fluid had gathered in a spot and that it was steam cleaned but no leak was found. We will see. My fiancé let him know that my car was pulling to the left, so Mike asked for preauthorization to fix it if he found anything. That prompted the question of us being charged for it, because we were quoted and charged for an alignment already that should’ve been done the first time when the control arms were replaced. So that begs the question if they did the alignment at all the first time. Anyway, Mike said it was taken care of and that we didn’t have to worry about it since it was warranty work. We weren’t able to pick up Friday, so we had to wait to pick up today (Monday). My fiancé called and was told we were going to be charged $99 for the alignment (that hadn’t even been done yet) and that, conveniently, Mike was out today. We picked up my car and told them to forget the alignment. Don’t waste your money. No transparency, horrible communication, blatant lying, and time management isn’t strong either. They charge for things they aren’t doing and overcharge for stuff they can’t get away with not doing.Review from Travis W

First time purchasing a vehicle from Germain and ended up purchasing two. Even though both vehicles were as-is, our salesman guaranteed that each vehicle had to pass a safety check, or they wouldn't let it off their lot. I was buying two Buicks which are relatively reliable cars, and I am not worried about minor issues. The report they gave us on my wife's vehicle had the TPS sensor light with the possibility of the sensor being bad. We were told that they put air in the tire, and it would take 50 miles for the light to go off. If not, they would look at replacing the sensor since it was the only item we asked for on her vehicle. 100 miles later, my wife took it back to the dealer to have it looked at once again. While there, she also asked about the windshield washer fluid, but was ensured that they filled it. Upon further inspection, our salesperson told her that there was only 19 pounds of air in the tire and that he had now filled it himself. That is a definite safety issue that they sent us away with. When my wife returned home, I checked her fluids and added 1 entire gallon of fluid to the reservoir. Both of these items were simple maintenance items that should be looked at and weren't. Furthermore, we were told they were, so we were lied too as well. With the vehicle I purchased, my only request is that it would be detailed before delivery. It wasn't even swept. Prior to getting there to purchase the cars, my wife dropped off all our paperwork at noon and went to the bank for a cashiers' check. To do a cash deal, it took over 3 hours. The reason for purchasing local was to have a dealer we could trust to do our service for years to come. After this experience, we will not return to Germain for any of our service needs. We are also looking for a 3rd car for our daughter but will not look at Germain for this purchase. This is definitely not the family friendly environment that Dan Hemm provided to Sidney for years. I do NOT recommend Germain.Germain Chevrolet GMC Buick Cadillac Sidney Response

we apologize for not living up to the customer's expectations, however both vehicles were safety checked as stated. as for cleanliness of the vehicle if it did not meet expectation, we will gladly detail the vehicles for the customer at their convenience and top off any fluids we may have missed in the process.
We strive to meet the community's expectations every day through hard work and communication with our clients and truly apologize for any inconvenience we have caused this customer.

Both vehicles could not have been safety checked as the issues I mentioned before. One thing I forgot is that our new mechanic told us the codes for the airbags had been reset which is a huge safety issue. Germain is about selling cars, not helping customers. Also, as I stated, I filled the fluids myself after my wife was assured the 3rd time she returned that his had been done. Missing simple things like air in a tire and filling washing fluid, and now finding out about the deleted code, tells us that we cannot trust your company to do the right things, so we are choosing not to return to Germain for any service or sales needs. We will do service with ***** ***** or **** ******** even though both are 20+ miles away, we cannot trust this local dealer for simple tasks. As for detailing the cars, you had the entire day on Monday to get them ready as we confirmed purchase at 9 AM and didn't arrive to the dealer until 3:30. It then took until 6:40 to get out of there. I would've expected the best with the amount of time you wasted of ours. Instead, no real apology, we were told that if we had a complaint to take it to the service manager. It was a sales issue as we didn't take the car to service, you did, and you should've made sure it was on the up-and-up before we took possession.Review from Amber B.

I have never left a negative review but thought it was important to inform others about my experience. I bought a 2016 Honda Accord Sport from Germain in Sidney, Ohio. I have bought my last four vehicles from dealerships and figured with a big name I could trust them as Paul Sherry has sold me 2 vehicles with no issues, Airport Toyota no issues, and Kings Honda no issues. All vehicles were used, and they did a wonderful inspection and have been great cars. We still own 3 of the 4. We did have 1 experience before the last 4 where we had an issue on the way home and the dealership brought it back in and apologized and fixed it. I never bought a sports car and thought it rode a little louder than my jeep but figured since I was on the ground compared to my jeep that’s why. I was returning from a trip when my car started feeling weird. I got home and took it to the tire shop that I take all my cars to, and they brought me to the back to look at my tires with them. They showed me 1- my tires were 12 years old. 6 years older than my car and 2- the tires were the wrong size for my car. I had a 3-inch crack in my sidewall from the age of the tire. All my tires had deterioration and cracks. I was shown how to read the age and truly inspect a tire. Very thankful! I was also so shaken up as he wouldn’t even let me drive away with the front tire and insisted, I get new tires asap. He gave me a spare for the really bad tire and ordered me new ones. I went to Germain to let them know about the tires. First, I talked to my salesman Kyle who pretty much gave me a feeling I was wasting his time even though I said repeatedly I want you to be aware of this and the danger. He said the tires checkout out though inspection they were fine, and you have had the car long enough (which he isn’t wrong..months) that doesn’t explain why I had the wrong size tire that were 6 years older than my vehicle. The NTSB website states that after 10 years a tire should not even be on a vehicle as it coulGermain Chevrolet GMC Buick Cadillac Sidney Response

Mrs. B******** purchased her Vehicle 8 months ago and completed her AS-IS paperwork during the purchase. we explained that our vehicles are inspected and sold AS-IS. we have no control of what another repair shop trying to sell something may tell a customer, and we dispute their findings on a vehicle only 6 years old. Our apologies to Mrs. B******** any inconvenience she may have incurred.Customer Response

Still Germain stands by selling tires over 10 years old that were cracking (6 years older than the car they were on)... not to mention the tires were the wrong size for the car. They want to blame the tire shop (saying they just want a sale) who showed me in detail how to read the tires and inside my door as to which tires are suppose to be on my car. Germain will not own up to They failed with their inspection.. there is no remorse sorry we truly messed up this shouldn't have made it through inspection... we will make sure our team inspects better so our costumers get a safe car. I DO NOT recommend buying from this place.
