I have started getting letters and phone calls earlier this year, ********. It is for equipment returned to ****** *** , around 350 dollars. When I got the letter I called the office to dispute the debt as instructed by the letter. I was then told that i had to dispute the debt on their web site. So I did, with no option for confirmation or to be cc on an email. The next call was to tell me I still owed the debt, and they never got my dispute? That structure at the very least is unprofessional and offers no accountability. i have since gotten constant calls from them and the people calling are incredibly rude when I tell them this is not a valid debt. I did contact ****** *** and was told they received the equipment on march 3rd and was given a reference number. When I tell the people calling me that i am presented with rudeness and unprofessionalism. They have offered 0 due diligence to establish the validity of this debt, even after I disputed it. i have otherwise attempted to call the business back but the numbers they call from do not ring through. the last on ************ i tried to call back as soon as I WAS HUNG UP ON and it went to nothing. i want the calls to stop and for them to research for themselves before pushing collection when there is no valid debt. A little kindness and professionalism would not hurt either

I am rejecting this response because:

This did not address your refusal to investigate the validity of the debt in the first place when I refuted the debt.. it doesn't address the rudness and unprofessional attitude of your employees,  and it is a cop out to just send the debt back instead of making any effort whatsoever to resolve the matter. A simple apology for the unprofessional attitude of your staff and acknowledging that due diligence was not done would have been an acceptable response

I received a debt-collection letter on August 9, 2022 from Media Collections, Inc. DBA Joseph, Mann & Creed. It was dated August 1, 2022, yet it took over one week to get to me, which is relevant because of a statutory 30-day deadline to file certain disputes. The letter was in regard to Reference Number ******** and Budget Truck Account Number *************. Joseph, Mann & Creed sought to collect a debt of $58.87 that was supposedly owed to Budget Truck as of June 28, 2022. I have contacted Joseph, Mann & Creed now by email and letter to explain that I owe no such debt (due to non-provision of services by Budget Truck), as verified by documentary proof that was presented to Budget Truck. Specifically, the debt encompasses charges for furniture pads and gasoline that Budget Truck charged me for but did not provide, plus associated tax. I presented Budget with a copy of my contract signed and dated by an on-site manager stating that I had not received furniture pads. I presented Budget with a gasoline receipt from a nearby gas station showing that I had to fill up the tank (before my one-way trip) notwithstanding Budget's claim that the tank had been full at pick up. I lodged immediate customer-service complaints after picking up the vehicle, which Budget stated were documented in its system. After Budget failed to provide a promised refund and failed to reply to my customer-service requests within the promised time frame, I disputed this portion of the full charge with my credit-card company. To be clear, I paid for all services actually rendered by Budget Truck (approximately $600). What is disturbing is that Joseph, Mann & Creed would fail to do any due diligence with Budget Truck before pursing charges, particularly with the major ramifications of credit reporting. What is also disturbing is that a letter supposedly sent on August 1, 2022 would take over a week to reach a consumer who faced a relatively short statutory deadline to contest the collection.

I don't know why you are still giving me this "other than you" feedback. I AM ME! and I'm asking you to delete the fraudulent accounts that I saw on my credit reports. I attached documents such as IDs, SSN, and my POA. I'm getting annoyed with this bullshit you are giving me. You are avoiding deleting the accounts that I keep on reporting and giving me the same feedback! Delete the accounts that I am reporting and I'm only giving you 15 days, you are testing my patience! Again, These are the accounts that you must block because I DID NOT AUTHORIZE ANYONE TO USE MY PERSONAL INFORMATION hence, these are all fraudulent accounts! I rented a Thirfty Car on 10/11/21. At pickup, the employee refused release the vehicle without me upgrading the insurance coverage for an additional $348.42. I have had numerous conversations with Thrifty trying to resolve this issue where some employees said I would be refunded the money since this is not a mandatory charge, as I was told that it was. I was also charged an age differential of $114. The same employee made this requirement of the woman before me in line. I asked repeatedly where it was written that this charge was required, and I was told "on the website", but when I called I was told that it was not required and I would be refunded once the car was returned. I disputed the charge with my credit card issuer and won the dispute. Budget gave the charge to Joseph, Mann & Creed which billed me. JMC led me to filing a dispute but would not tell me any information or deadline of when this would impact my credit. I completed their dispute form for the fraudulent charge. I have not received a response. Thrifty never took this issue to small claims court and there is no legal order to enforce.
