    Concrete patio completed by Hastings and Sons Concrete in August 2021. Chipping’s all over patio after snow/rain. Contacted company March 2022 through email, telephone call, and text messages for repairs as it’s still under warranty. Company was not able to come out and see the patio till June 21, 2022. Per the pictures and their companies evaluation, they claim that we have used rock salts which has caused damages so it voids the warranty. I have explained to the company that we have not used any rock salts at anytime to cause that. I have never purchased any rock salts. A representative states they'd have to tear down the patio in order for them to replace but at my own cost.

    We have stop over and looked at the patio I talked directly to the home owner and let her know that due to someone putting salt on the patio and ruining the finish per our contract we can not warranty the patio

    Alleviate the problem we will offer 50% of her money back or come out and do an overlay on the patio to repair the damage

    Hastings and Sons installed a concrete patio at our house. After the concrete was poured, we were told that they would smooth out the rough spots of the concrete, clean up the concrete that was splatted on our house, repair the stucco that was damaged on our house, and repair our yard by replanting grass/sod. They never did any of that, despite acknowledging in writing (via email) that they would come back out to complete the job "immediately." It has now been two months and they have stopped returning our calls and emails.

    I have reached out to the customer they stated that some of the repair to the yard and cleanup has been completed by them. They also stated they are usually home after 2:00 most days. Im going to try and reach out to them to stop by today and find out what's left that needs to be done as well as compensate the customer for their clean up.

    Had concrete patio poured at the end of March. The foreman doing the job broke one of the deck boards where the concrete and patio meet. He owned the issue and said he would get it fixed. There is also concrete splatter on the decking boards, it's been 2 months and I can't get them to come back out. They also said he would be out in about a month to seal it. That hasn't been done. To make matters worse now there is pitting/gouges in the concrete. Have many text messages with the foreman and the Salesman who gave me the quote without any resolution. Called the owner on 5/31/22 who said it would get handled. Still not fixed. Called the owner again this morning 6/13 at 9:45 and left a voicemail. As of this writing at 4:30 no response back. I've been more than patient. I truly get the feeling that they are just trying to blow it off and not finish what he said he was going to do. It was my mistake to pay the final bill without satisfactory work being completed.

    At this point the contractor and I have spoken about a resolution. Since then there have been many text messages that have been unanswered. Since they did say they won't do any work while an active complaint is pending can you please put this on hold? I will notify the BBB of any communication that I receive from them.

    H******* installed a concrete apron in front of our garage on March 14, 2022 for $4,730. We needed a concrete apron because we had a drainage issue with our asphalt driveway and water was backing up into our garage. We went with H******* because our sales person, Shawn H*******, said they could install the apron so that the water would drain away from the driveway and garage. But they ended up creating a low part on the driveway itself, which just pools with water now, and also with heavy rain, the garage is completely flooding. I have sent emails to Shawn with photos of the standing water, we have left voicemails and my husband even spoke with Adam at the office who said he would send someone out to look at it. That was 2 weeks ago and we still haven't heard anything. On May 20th I emailed a video of the garage flooding and have not received a response. We really want this resolved as we paid a lot of money for this and have to walk through pretty deep water to get to our cars. The standing water on our driveway is causing mosquitoes to breed as it doesn't drain anywhere, and will result in us getting fined by our Code Enforcement Officer.

    This is a follow up to the original complaint filed previously. This Has Not been resolved! I cannot reach anyone at the company for a status update. A representative came to our property today to asses the problem and has proposed a fix. Not sure if there is a way to update the complaint with this info or not. I am not ready to mark it as resolved but they have at least been in contact and things appear to be working on it.

    We have all drain materials in stock and we have a will call order for the concrete for this repair. We are waiting for an open spot in the schedule that does not have a forecast for rain. We expect the project to be complete in the next week.

    Hastings and sons put a patio and sidewalk behind my home around March 28, 2022. Once we had set a date, concrete was scheduled to be delivered at 12:00 noon. Although rain was in the forecast Adam from Hastings assured us that the concrete delivery company would not risk delivering concrete where it was going to rain. The delivery got moved up to 1:00 and then got moved again to 2:30 pm. Then there was the subcontracted concrete pumper and the delay to their lines being jammed up. All of this happening as the clouds rolled in. When concrete finally began being pumped the subcontracted crew could not get it done fast enough and the rain started while they were still pouring. Without finishing anything the entire project was covered in plastic to wait out the rain. By the time the rain stopped everything was well on its way to hardening and finishers tried unsuccessfully to finish properly. We were always reassured that everything was going to work out. Even though the fished product looked terrible, I was told by the Hastings Florida project manager, Mason, that the curing process takes 28 days and it would look better after that time. So I paid Mason in full and trusted that it would work out. After the 28 days I invited Mason out to look at the work and we both agreed the concrete all would have to be replaced and that they should be able to get it done by mid May. Since, I have been getting a run around from both Mason and Adam both telling me each time I call they they will get back to me but never doing so. I am extremely frustrated at the entire process and would like a full refund so we could have this all redone.

    BBB referred vendor. Contacted Hastings & Sons LLC concrete company owner Shawn H******* ###-###-#### and Branch Manager Adam V******* ###-###-#### and explained the job was not finished. Back fill was not performed, top caps needed sealed from rain allowing water to run in the new concrete block wall and grate on drain was cemented over not allowing to remove grate for cleaning. Was told by Adam that he would take care of these issues and contact the crew and resolve the issues. Now no access to their phones nor are they returning calls.     After receiving the response to look at the project issues from Mr. ***** I immediately went to the project. I took pictures of the areas that he wanted addressed I have called him several times the last call being this past Saturday to let him know that people would be there on Wednesday of this week in order to correct his issues every single time that he has called we have returned his call and also got his voicemail there is no error or miscommunication whatsoever I don’t see the need for this complaint I received a call from him last Monday about the complaint I was there on Wednesday I have somebody scheduled to be there this Wednesday I’ve also spoke to him in person today

    We (Shawn and I) have spoken about the issues of the walls needing to be replaced. I want to keep the complaint open until the project is completed.

    I understand that this bears a burden on the company, however I need to have the walls built to acceptable levels: Plumb, Level and capped with a water resistant cap which will keep water from leaking into the cement block. ie cemented butt joints and back filled.

    Their sloppy work and the length of time to resolve the walls is a joke.  I will never recommend this company for any type of work.  It took months to resolve an issue, that should have never happened.  Now I have a driveway that needs repaired, due to their lack of expertise and professionalism.  The work site was left with trash, broken cinder blocks and a cement mixing container with a hole in it.  The walls are shorter in height than the original and shorter in length, but at this point I do not want them on my property.  Guess I learned a lot with this experience about the BBB and their recommendations.

    We hired Hastings and Sons to replace our front stoop and sidewalk leading to the driveway on 3/9/22 for $3925. Once we were able to walk on it, we noticed incorrect sloping of the sidewalk (it slopes down toward the house instead of toward the driveway) and pooling of water on the same area of sidewalk. The finish work was not “phenomenal” work as Adam claimed it would be, nor did it “look like we were never here”. We sent pictures of our issues, and Adam said he would come and take a look the day after we sent an email. He never came, but had the guys who did the work come and clean up their mess. As they cleaned I noticed water coming in through my garage and basement wall (both are attached to the replaced stoop). I was told it wasn’t from them, which it clearly was coming from them and it was an issue we never had before-pictures are attached. I called to explain the issues and how I expected Adam to be there like he said, but no one answered or called me back. He seemed to have time to call the crew there cleaning up, but never called me. The finish work is not great quality, poor sloping and water pooling, and we have called and emailed on several occasions without a response.

    Adam called me and let me know that there was an issue with the work at this property. Adam has been unavailable since Thursday last week I have not had a chance until today to stop by and look at the work performed. Adam had the crew out the same day the customer reported the issue. The stoop is not attached to the house and neither was the old one the water was being forced under the band board between the block foundation and the band board the house is built on from the power washer from the crew cleaning up the mess I’ve inspected the work today and the step and part of the walkway needs to come out to correct the sloping issue the customer stated she did not want anyone to return to fix this work until someone had come out to look at it I was there today I inspected the work the stoop is great there’s nothing wrong with the finish work the cleanup has been finished and there does need to be a repair which we are more than willing to take care of however we were instructed not to come back by the homeowner. Adam is now back at work as of today and will be contacting the homeowner to schedule the repair. There was no damage done to the house
