Received a scam letter from Assured Collections, LLC about a debt with some Philcare Medical Supplies. Reference #*********. I never had any dealings with Philcare. I believe someone is trying to scam people to get rich. I am filing this complaint to document my case, and help warn others of these dishonest businesses and their practices. Not sure however that any of these two companies is legit.Business response

If the debtor could please fill out the model validation letter that was sent to dispute so my team can provide the documentation. There is a physician written order, signed by the debtor accepting the product and the financial responsibility as well as a proof of delivery of the product to the debtors address.Business response

Please dispute the charge using the validation letter our team sent so we can provide the documents and you can review them to make a proper case against the charge.Customer response

I am rejecting this response because:
I am not going to provide anything that this business can potentially further use against me.
They made a miatake. They should accept that, and move on.

Just received 20 collection letters saying I owe Philcare Medical Supplies for services dates 3/17/20, 4/17/20/, 5/27/20, 6/17/20, 7/17/20, 8/18/20, 9/17/20. 10/17/20, 11/17/20 & 12/17/20 totally over $1,800.00. During 2020 I had Aetna insurance and satisfied my deductible in February 2020. I have never been contacted by Philcare Medical Supplies nor have I received any billed from them. Any claims for supposed services should have been sent Aetna which I no long have for them to pay and cannot receive reimbursement for after 3 years . I do not believe this are services provided to me or owed by me. All attempts to collect for services that were not rendered or should have been billed to Aetna need to stop.Business response

There is clear indication that the debtor signed the physician written order for the product that was billed monthly for several months. The charges are for the debtors patient responsibility portion of the claim. However, in the space where the debtor signed, the form is generic and does not state Philcare Specifically as the provider. Therefore Assured Financial is closing the account and will no longer be attempting to collect.Initial Complaint

Received a letter from Assured Collections on 4/6/2023 regarding a debt we do not own. The date of service is from over 3 years ago from a Philcare Medical Supply company. Philcare texted me in Sept 2022 regarding a $395 debt we felt we did not own based on a 1/20/20 service. Since this was the 1st time we found out about this, I asked for more details and received a "bill" that was very vague as to the describe of the service. I contacted my doctor and they never ordered any service for me from Philcare and had me call the hospital to see if it came from them. Again my hospital records do not indicate any services from Philcare. I contacted my former insurance company and again nothing they denied. When I called PhilCare after my research, the number is no longer a working number. I never received anymore contact from Philcare. Now I have a letter from Assured Collections for a $2995, and (4) $98.81 bills. I believe both of these companies are scammers.Business response

The claim signed by the debtor was sent to Philcare Medical Supplies to be billed. However, the paperwork did not indicate that and therefore we are closing this account with no further attempt to collect.Initial Complaint

2/18/2020 On this date I was given a medical back unit that was covered by my insurance. My chiropractor covered the remainder of the payment of the unit and it was free for me for my back injury. The unit wasn't even from Philcare, it was from ****** 3/3/2023 I received 11 pages of supposed bills for all different amounts ranging from $26-$400. None of the pages even state what medical device I have. I do not owe any payment amount.Business response

**** ** did not have the contracts to bill your insurance and sent the claim to be billed by Philcare Medical Supplies. However, while the paperwork does state Philcare Medical Supplies on it, it only states **** ** in the paragraph where the debtor signed. Therefore, we are closing this account with no further attempt to collect.Customer response

Received letter from Assured Collections, a debt collector. The debts are supposedly on behalf of Philcare Medical Supplies. There were four documents. I checked with Medicare and Tricare, my primary and secondary insurances. I have enclosed documents from Tricare regarding four of the "debts." The largest debt for $5995.00, I don't have the documentation but a chatted online with Tricare and they had paid this amount, in full. I never received a bill from Philcare Medical Supplies.Business response

Please fill out the model validation letter to dispute and our team will readily provide the physician written order signed by the debtor showing Philcare Medical Supplies as the provider.Customer response

I called both Medicare and Tricare for Life yesterday. Regarding Medicare: too much has elapsed and they have submitted a form to restore information about this claim to records they can access. Regarding Tricare: Philcare Medical Services put this claim in twice, once on 2-5-2020 and once on 2-10-2020. Tricare paid $4383.75 on the first claim, and denied the second claim. Of course. Tricare will be sending Philcare Medical Services and me a copy of this paperwork. I can do nothing else until I get the paperwork from both entities. Please advise next step.
Regarding the Consumer Information form that was attached for me to fill out, I am unable to. I don't have most of the information. It has been 3 years.
Again, please advise next step.

I had surgery on6/12/2019 for a hernia. The provider gave me some compression devices for my legs. Later, I received a bill from Philcare Medical Supplies. The bill was for 2,361.30 and the justification was for medical supplies. I attempted to contact the company but could not find a website or phone number. I came up with a number and had a voicemail. I left a voicemail 5 times and documented this. I never heard back from the company. After more than two years with no contact, I decided that this was a scam and disposed of my documentation. On 3-17-23, I received a collection notice from Assured Collections for this bill. I contacted the insurance company but they will not consider a claim that was that old. There is no website for the supply company or collections agency. The phone number listed on BBB is out of service. My insurance paid the bill. I'm convinced this is a scam to get more money. I do not want any collections activity levied against me.Business response

We have been provided with an updated explanation of benefits from Tricare showing a $0 patient responsibility for the claim that Philcare Medical Supplies billed. The outstanding balance has been adjusted to $0. There have been no reports sent to any of the credit bureaus and there will be no further attempt to collect. If there are any future text messages received please respond "STOP" to be removed from the queue. Thanks!Initial Complaint

In 2020, I received a bill from Philcare Medical Supplies for two medical devices that were ordered by my surgeon for a procedure that I had done in September 2019 (Underarm Spring Assist & Limb Compression Device). There was no contact information for Philcare Medical Supplies to contact them in regards to the bill which I received. The bill was for $773.40. A payment was made via check in January 2021, which they cashed and attached to that check was a note if we could have an updated bill balance along with contact information in regards to who we could talk to in regards to the bill. We received no communication via email, phone or written correspondence in regards to this matter until I received a letter from Assured Collections, LLC that was dated March 20,2023 two years later. To go 26 months without hearing anything from Philcare Medical Supplies in regards to the matter which bears the question what happened during those 26 months. What's even more odd or just a coincidence is that the address of the collection agency and Philcare Medical Supplies is only two bldgs. away (which begs to differ if they are the same business under a different name). I want an explanation of the charges, what they did with the check they deposited and why wasn't there any contact via any type of communication via email, written correspondence or telephone during those 26 months.Business response

I received a collection letter from Assured Collections in Tulsa. Philcare Medical Supplies says I owe them 719.40 for something which I am not sure of. I had cervical spine surgery in Dec 2020, and my doctor ordered a contraption that supposedly helped with fusion/healing. They also gave me post surgery leg compression device. So I am not sure. I tried calling Philcare and the phone has been disconnected. I never received a bill from them and I am not sure if I should pay. I have never been sent to collections as I can pay my bills. Also, as a disabled veteran, I am sure tricare either paid this, or lowered what I actually owe. Can you help me to research this.Business response

My wife Was sent a bill from November 2020 in April 2023 for filled care medical supplies. I was still on active duty and did not even live in the United States at this time. Not sure how they got my address to send me four separate bills totaling almost $6000.Business response

The confirmation of delivery shows 4 items were ordered and mailed to the debtor's address. The physician written order clearly shows the products being ordered. If the debtor will fill out the validation letter to dispute our team will provide the documentation.Initial Complaint

I previously filed a complaint about the collection agency, Assured Collections, LLC, which sent me mail to supposedly collect a debt for Philcare Medical Supplies. Reply from BBB disappeared from my computer. Now I am filed a complaint against Philcare Medical Supplies since they are the originators. Three years ago I underwent knee surgery. Only now am I gettin any notice of any charges by Philcare. Only one of the charges do I recognize> Please see enclosed letter and other enclosures. Thank youCustomer response

I received another communication from the company. The primary addition shows only that a parcel was delivered to my address. It also shows personal medical information.
Also included were numerous duplicates of invoices: 7 of one, 3 of another. The first time I thought it was a clerical error. Now I am thinking they are asking for numerous payments for the same item. ??? Again, fraud???
I have tentatively identified the other two items, neither of which were recommended to me by my medical provider. Nor did I use them. When I contacted the medical office it was implied that the package was a service from the office.
Had I had the information which I now have, had I not been in critical pain, had I had the mobility and the ability, I would have returned the whole package at the time and purchased the one item that I needed from a reputable supply company at considerable less cost.
Thank you for your assistance.

There are multiple charges for the same product because the claim was set up as a repeat rental for several months. Insurance did not pay the claim, therefore the charges are for each month that the claim was billed as a rental. There are also 2 other products that were ordered and delivered to the debtors address.Customer response

This is totally crazy making. I am being so conned!
How can I possible be expected to pay rental on equipment which I did not order, was told I did not need to use and for which I NEVER saw a rental agreement let alone a bill from Philcare? I could have purchased that equipment for 10% or less of the Philcare cost online.
I will try to enclose items. I also enclose my recent letter to Assured Collections.
You asked if I accepted a settlement from Assured Collections. I was never offered any kind of settlement.
Please ask them to cease.
Thank you
