5/2024 hired to pour a slab for a two car garage, front parking pad, sidewalk. The front pad apron is 2 inches thick and poured on top of existing asphalt which has cracked everywhere, 2ft section has completely broken off. I paid for demo and removal of said asphalt as well as 4-5in thick concrete - see contract. sidewalk was poured 1ft wider than agreed in contract ruining 2 front garden beds. Concrete was splattered on my front door ruining paint, shutters, brick of the house and mailbox. The back pad was poured without permits, footers, rebar or control joints and did not pass, in order to build on it without it having been permitted&inspected, required an engineered letter and pad to be scanned. I finally got company to agree yo do this. After scanning, pad did NOT pass. after several more weeks JR came up with a plan to have the pad poured again but insisted that I pay an additional $15,000 dollars or he would only offer me a $3000 refund. I then had to get Marks contact, he agreed that they would take care of it as it was their error. The existing pad was repoured and did pass inspection. Neither pad would have allowed a car to drive into it I was told by James and JR several times that they would pour a ramp and repair the right side where the slab was poured below the grade of the existing asphalt and NOT connected to pad - asphalt destroyed-where a door exists thus not allowing you to use it or enter the garage. None of these issues have been remedied. I have called multiple numbers many times and left messages and have never heard back. 8 feet out into the existing asphalt directly in front of the slab was completely destroyed. So far not one person has even managed to apologize or address these issues. I have attempted to contact the company over 50x via email&phone. No one will speak with me. I was told to file a warranty claim with my issues and a secondary claim for the broken section in the front, both denied without any explanation or discussion.Initial Complaint

End of July 2024 - First week of August. The patio was +$8,000 The control joints are not parallel to each other, they are not lined up correctly with the rest of the patio. If you measure from the from top left corner (farthest from my house) to the control joint in the center. You should get the same measurement from the corner in the bottom left. But you don't. I just moved into a brand new home I was in no rush. They did it poorly and incorrectly. They used a hand trough to make the control joints and they made them by hand . The stamp was applied at the same time as the joints. The joints should have been made later, with a saw... Then there is the fire pit issue. The salesmen told me that to add it after the fact would be thousands of dollars but it would only cost me hundreds. So I agreed. The contractor forgot to install the fire pit. No resolution was offered. Concrete driveway Co sent the same contractor to patch some dangerously sharp edges. He then said she was seeing it wrong because of the optical illusion. Which if that was the case, we should have talked about before hand but the measurements disprove that. Then JR (Project Manager) said that he would not come down to see it himself, but would have a second opinion - we never heard from them again. I filed a dispute with the credit company immediately. The salesman also said they would get rid of the pile of dirt, and destroyed concrete from previously existing stoop, and they did not do that either.Initial Complaint

Per agreed contract, I was to pay %50 of deposit; however, when the invoice came, and payment was to be made, the company didn't offer an option to pay %50, but not knowing that such option was not available, I submitted the payment, and the entire payment was taken. I contacted the company and request a refund of %50 within 24 hours. A promise that the refund will be made via a check because the system already accepted the full payment. A month later, I followed up, but no response via email. Subsequent follow ups via email resulted in another promise for 50% refund, but by that time, I requested full refund due to lack of trust in the company. Since then, the office manager went silent, so I reached out to the sale rep, and he informed me that he does not know why the office didn't respond and that there was nothing he can do from his end! Mail sent to the street address in SC was returned to sender. I called the number on their website, and another sale rep returned my call and provided the same address even though I knew it was not valid. No job completed, and I would not want them to do any work at this point. Additional sale rep also called me to try to progress the job. It appears that this company has and continues to scam people. Please do something to stop them from scamming people.Initial Complaint

In July 2024 we went into contract with Concrete Driveway Co. to demo our deck and lay a concrete patio for $7500. They required 50% deposit up front so we paid them $3750. The day the job was to start 7/24 the workers that came to our house said they do not demo decks. We called the sales guy we dealt with and he didn’t even try to explain it, apologize, make it right, nothing…he just said they’ll give us a refund. After assuming we’d see a refund soon…two weeks went by and nothing so we started contacting the company and couldn’t get anyone. Days later we get an email that said we would get the refund by 8/24. That date came and still no refund. Started contacting the company again and could not get anyone or a response for days. Finally the sales guy responded by text with the regional manager’s contact info so I emailed him and he responded stating that we will get our refund as soon as possible. Here we are mid September eight weeks since they said they would refund our money. Does “as soon as possible” mean the refund is on its way or it’s going to be another 2 months?…we have no idea. We contact the company daily and they will not answer our calls or respond to messages left.Initial Complaint

I hired this company to do my driveway. The first one was crao with them waiting 9 days to do the control joints resulting in cracks and also widescale scaling and crumbing. They ghosted me for weeks until I left a message saying I would contact the attorney general and then hire an attorney to file suit. They would then call me and promise to redo it as well as backfilling the driveway which I had already done once and now they are once again ghosting. They left a dumpster in front of my house and had the project manager JR not sent me a text saying he had already requested a pick up it would still be sitting there. I was able to use that text to get it picked up. Mark P****** (sales manager) took it upon himself to change my contract plans and make the patio under my deck 12x16 despite not asking me and me Being out of town resulting in additional cost as well as a waste of concrete under my stairs. This was never part of the plan and was unacceptable for him to think it was okay just because he was building my deck. Anthony who laid the patio got concrete all over my house and window and took 12 weeks to get it off but then shredded my screen with a power washer and still did not get the concrete off my window. And of course hasn’t been out to fix it. And found out last week, they shouldn’t be operating in the state of Kentucky because they aren’t even in good standing with the Secretary of State and were told in October 2023 that they are NOT to be conducting business in Kentucky.Initial Complaint

We talked to a salesman from this company about our driveway. He assured us that rocks would solve our problems. I told him that we had tried that before, but he said we had never used the type of rocks that their company used. He charged us $5000, Came in and dumped loads of rock all along our driveway to the point where no vehicles can use it because they sink down in the rocks. My daughter has had several busted tires over this problem and just today her tire lights came on while she was trying to get out of the driveway. We have called several times to let them know that the driveway was destroyed by the first rain that came through. I have enclosed several pictures of what it looks like now. they refused to take responsibility and now have blocked me from calling and will not call me back or even come to see the driveway. I am so disgusted now because we will have to find someone from a reputable company to come fix our driveway. What can I do about this?Initial Complaint

On 8/14/24, i was presented an estimate of $17,591 to complete my concrete driveway at ** ********* ***, Asheville, NC 28801. I agreed on the price and that they could do the job in time for me to drive on the driveway prior to guests arriving on 8/31. They agreed and I sent them a 50% deposit in the amount of $8795. They send a confirmation email that they would complete the job on 8/23. I reached out to the person who conducted my estimate on 8/21 to confirm the job. He never returned my email. On the confirmed date of installation (8/23) I waited for them to arrive. Finally, I called the company at approximately 10am. I was told a project manager would call me. Approximately 1hour later, I received a call from the project manager stating they could not do that job as agreed because they were backed up and had people out on leave. I told the PM that this wax unacceptable and to cancel my job and refund my deposit. He agreed and we parted waves. Since then, I have contacted the company through email, left over 10 voicemail messages and was promised callbacks on multiple occasions. It is now close of business on 8/29. I have not received one call from the company. They don’t return any of my contacts and still have not refunded my $8795. I’m trying this route prior to legal action. I just want my money back so I can hire another company. I’d appreciate any help you could give me. ThanksCustomer response

On March 18, 2021, we had Madewell concrete put in a concrete drive way and patio. The drive way has developed holes and cracks. We have contacted them and cannot get them to come and repair the driveway. The installation came with a 10 year guarantee. When the representative thinks we are a new customer, we can get help; however, when we say we need repairs, we cannot get anything but broken promises. We would like the driveway repaired like the company promised in the agreement.Initial Complaint

He let me to believe they were local business here he send me over a contract thr email it stated 40x60 slab with 3foot wide sidewalks around the slab and a concrete all for $30 thousand dollars so I paid in full. End of December they poured slab which was much thicker than our agreement, for there error they wanted thousands more money or I don’t get my sidewalks and the concrete ramp I purchased separate because the slab was crazy tall. I’ve called I’ve emailed I’ve txtd to no prevail. Now the slab has cracked throughout to where I doubt I can build my dream home on that I’ve saved for for 40 years of working. I am disabled now have been since 2009. I’ve been very depressed because of that company. I am an assoc. manager submitting this complaint on behalf of HOA. On 4/30/24 sales rep Nick W**** sent a proposal of $9399 to pour concrete parking pad & removal/repour of a front patio. Removal of patio was contingent on removal date of 6/6 & repoured on 6/10 due to work needed at foundation of home. Parking pad was to be poured 6/10, same as patio. The HOA paid 50% deposit of $4669.50 on 5/9. I received confirmation email on 5/9 that patio removal scheduled for 6/6 & pouring scheduled 6/10. Also, that a regional manager would contact me 24 hours prior to job start w/ details. 6/6 arrived - nobody called, nobody would respond to texts or phone calls & they were a no show. Install week came - no response & no show again. The following week Nick told me that project manager Eric B***** had been fired which is why no one showed on scheduled dates. New PM Nate assured a crew would be out 6/12 to remove patio. 6/12, 5:30 1 individual arrived w/ a jack hammer & told owner he was pulled off another job unexpectedly & knew nothing. Told owner he would need large equipment to remove patio & crew of men & that proposal provided by Nick would not cover their fee. In 1.5hr he jack hammered the top 1in of patio off just enough to become a liability. I was told they thought patio was structural & can't be removed. I req a new proposal for both jobs since said both jobs would cost more $. 6/20 I received proposal for $11800 but amount of material required did not change. I requested material amount to be revised yet never received. Nate suggested cancelling the order w/ a deposit refund which I agreed to 6/25. He said he was checking w accounting & would provide date deposit would be released. This went on for 2wks. Nate is no longer with co. another PM has taken over his cell & would not provide his name. He too said he would provide date for deposit return. Nothing. They have since disconnected the phone # to my only point of contact. Nobody answers office phone. SCAM!
