I scheduled a well woman's annual exam with ********************************************** ****** on April 29, 2022--which included an exam--if necesary and blood work; my insurance pays for annual exams and blood work as proventive care. However, ******************** ****** read my blood work and coded that I have vitamin D deficiency and charged $105.53. However, since ******************** ****** coded this item, my insurance refuse it pay it. Also, reading blood work to a patient does not qualify a charge to a patient; also I had to call the doctor's ****** several times to get her nurse to tell me the results of the blood work. My insurance and and I contracted ******************** ****** severral times each to ask to recode the charge because it is falls under my annual exam--however, **************** refuses to recode the item and I have not given us a copy of the blood work results. **************** claims my visit to her ****** was not an annual exam because it was my first visit with he--which she did not clarify when I schedule visit or prior to the charge of reading my blood work. During my ****** visit with ****************--we discussed this visit as being an annual exam and there was no mentioned of me being a new patient that I needed a second visit to be a well woman's visit. Both my insurance and I asked for copies of my medical records but no reply from ******************** ****** and now her ****** manager will not accept or return my phone calls.

    Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

I am pleased to inform you that the business, ****************** office, called me today, August 16, 2022, to inform me that they have reconsidered the charge and re-coded the test to submit it as well woman's annual examination--which means the insurance company is response for the charge instead me.

When time permits, the complaint can be closed due to the business making a correction to the coding on the statement.

Thanks for assistance in this matter.

    Regards,

    *********************
