I ordered a free Mediterranean cookbook online form Peapil's Publishing on 1/17. I was unaware I had also ordered e-books that popped up after the order for the hardback cookbook ($9.95 for shipping). I received an email for the hardback book and another email for the e-books. When I was ordering I only clicked on to see what they were and did not intend to buy or see the content. I sent an email out after discovering the error. I didn't see the charge until I looked at my bank account and saw $52.68 withdrawn from my account. They responded saying they had no way to pull back the e-books and that I clicked apple pay 3 times. The first time I didn't think my order for the hardback went through. I was unaware they were charging me for e-books too. They have offered me a $50 coupon to use for another book at their store (about the same as if they would give me a refund). I would prefer the refund. I told them I will take the gift card but would also notify my bank, the BBB about their practices. I appreciate your assistance! Thank you, Kathy Paden

Hi Kathy, we are sorry to hear that you did not have a perfect experience when placing your order with us. As per your message, and our conversations, your order was placed with Apple pay and was verified with Biometrics not once, but twice. We are also more then happy to provide the IP Address and payments logs for these transactions but as this was placed with apple pay and verified with biometrics, your bank and you already has this information. Our policies are very clear and state that we do not offer refunds on eBooks and digital products after they have been confirmed as delivered and/or opened by your email provider. This policy can be found in the footer of all our pages/cart/checkout. As per your "complaint" we have supported you by offering you a gift card (to which you have accepted and then continued to write this complaint anyways) to the equal amount of the "disputed charge". We are truly sorry that you may have misunderstood or miss read your purchase and that is why we have offered you a gift card to support you with this. Our policies are very clear and we encourage everyone to read them prior to placing an order. As per the physical product(s) that you ordered, it looks like they are currently in transit with the USPS and will be delivered as soon as they can.

I am rejecting this response because: I did not see any return policy. Generally with apple pay, the click has me put my passcode in which I only did once which I thought was for the book only. The gift card is almost the same as the refund. What really makes the difference whether you return the money to my bank or pay out $50 in a gift card. This was clearly an accident on my part and not an intentional purchase of e-books.

    Sincerely,

    Kathy Paden

Hi Kathy, we are very sorry that you did not read our Return/Refund policy for eBooks when you purchased them. We are very clear that our eBooks are not refundable once they are marked as delivered and/or opened by the customers email provider. Given your situation, to support you, we went above and beyond and provided you with a gift card to which you can go purchase multiple hard copy books or other eBooks if you so choose. Thanks,

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.  Of NOTE: It was discovered that the hired care-giver for my husband used my information and placed this without my knowledge - taking it upon themselves to 'do what was best for my husband'.  The agency this person works from has been advised.

    Sincerely,

*** ******* placed an order with us for a copy of our Diabetic Kitchen cookbook. 6 business hours later she filed this dispute saying she did not receive her order. As per our checkout, her order confirmation, and her shipping confirmation, we very clearly state that shipping for our products will take 2-9 business days. (ETA)

We ship our products with the USPS and she was provided a tracking number for her order. At the time of replying to this compliant, this tracking is updated and does provide a delivery ETA.

For absolutly clarity, lt appears her order will be delivered within the quoted time frame we provided to her 3 times. (please note that the USPS does not provide guaranteed delivery times for this mail class but rather an ETA)

    Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because: They are being dishonest, which I would expect. They have many, many complaints about their company and its unreliability. The only complaint I made to them occurred when they stated to me that my product was on its way, when their tracking showed it was still at their location and had been for 6 days without any movement. If the item reaches me by Monday, January 5, 2025, I will remove the complaint. If not, I wish it to go forward. The item was ordered on December 26, 2024

    Sincerely,

    *** *******

***'s order was delivered to the registered address today. This order was delivered well within the proposed and estimated delivery window. There is simply no possible confusion with this order. Lin placed an order with us, and we delivered it to her within the time frame estimate we provided. Dismiss this unneeded, and inaccurate complaint.
