My credit was almost defaulted on because of incompetence at this dealer. Leased my Honda HRV from them back in 2019 with very few complaints (some sexism when coming in to get it serviced but nothing different from any other dealer). Went back in July 2023 to purchase my vehicle out of the lease. About 2 weeks following the purchase, I started receiving automated calls from the 800 Honda Financial number telling me that they needed to know what I planning to do now that the vehicle's lease has matured. I called/emailed the dealership letting them know I was receiving these calls and letters, they told me that "they filled everything on their end" and "they will look into it." Fast forward another week, and I receive a letter in the mail saying that I have 10 days to either submit full payment to Honda or return my vehicle. I reach out to Honda again by email and phone. When calling, the staff kept redirecting me to different departments and leaving me on someone's voicemail never to be called back. Emails were answered with a generic "We will look into it" or not at all. Then, I call Honda Financial Services since the dealership has not given me any information and they tell me that the dealership had never sent them the money for the car so in a week and a half, my credit will default for the price of the car. For the next week, I again, try to get someone on the phone at the dealership and I elevate emails to higher sales managers to try to get someone's attention. They do get back to me, only to tell me it's the bank's fault and that I need to call the bank or Honda Financial again to get this sorted. Which, I do, and Honda Financial again tell me "They have no record of a payment being sent to them" and I should contact the dealer again to figure out what was going on. It wasn't until 5 days before my credit would have been impacted that the Dealership calls me and realizes they never wired the money to Honda Financial.
