On September 19, 2022 I was notified that a state benefit was garnished for ******** for a debt of ********. I was never given a court date, could not find the case in the ** court system. I have been working with a debt settlement company to try to reduce the debt. This company has no concern for the problems that most Americans are facing. I wasnt offered ANY option that would satisfy these people through my debt settlement program. I could be homeless and they would not care. The stories Ive read on the BBB are absolutely horrible! I do not think that I was even given a chance to settle.

Extremely rude and unhelpful case manager. Refused to talk to me after I am legally required to talk to them with in 20 days. On already contracted settlement that Citibank agreed too. And I have been making payments on with No missed payments. After a year and a half, now the want more then double? Where did my payment to Citibank's own settlement go? Is police action need?

Suttell and Hammer is notorious (read about them online) for buying past debts of older than 7 years and attaching garnishments indefinitely. They have garnished my wages despite me protesting. They just keep bleeding people dry and there doesn't seem to be any way to even have a conversation with them. They are predatory and take advantage of seniors.

I received a notice from ************************** 7/12/2018 on Case Number x1884024 (Reference number 603678)demanding $6,568.53 on behalf of **** of America. I agreed to repay it at the rate of $200.00 per month for THREE YEARS! I paid the debt off in September 2021.I have COVID. I am a 74 year old retiree who can not afford an attorney. I paid the debt in full, but Suttell and Hammer has not cleared the debt information from my record or the court record. It appears that this is a pattern with them of ignoring people. I have tried to contacting them by telephone, email and mail. All of it has been ignored. They were paid in full, but they have not followed through. Their system shows it is paid and I have 3 years of records of every $200 payment before the 10th of every month and that is not easy!

On 3/23/22, after my client called to attempt to settle a judgement that is months away from being 10 years old, which Suttell and Hammer refused to settle because she is refinancing, I called and requested a payoff demand for the full amount for said client who is making a good faith effort to pay their debt by doing a cash out refinance on their home. I was told to email *********************************** with an authorization form, which I did at 3:23pm on 3/23/22 and included a copy of the original judgement for them to reference and a fax number as I was told that they could not email me the payoff due to debt collection laws. On 3/24/22 at 12:21pm, I received an email from **************************** requesting the last 4 digits of my clients social security number. I replied with the requested information 3/24/22 at 12:34pm (13 minutes later). I did not receive any response so at 3/24/2022 I emailed bot ****** and *********************************** following up and inquiring if the payoff was sent.. no response.. I emailed again on 3/25/22 at 2:40pm inquiring again if the payoff had been faxed and informing them that the title company had not received it and that we needed it immediately otherwise the borrower could not close on the refinance of their property. No response. I emailed both title and ****** again on Monday 3/28/22 at 11:51pm letting them know that we cannot close the loan and pay them if we do not receive the payoff.. still no response.. I have also called multiple times and spoken with multiple reps who claim that they have submitted a request to the person who was in charge of sending the payoffs, the most recent stated that they emailed me the payoff that morning so I checked my inbox, junk, and trash folder and informed him that I did not receive it, He stated he would escalate it to the woman who sends the payoffs, but refused to let me speak to said individual. That was 3/28 at 11:41am. As of 3/30/22 the title company and I still have not received the payoff.
