Mercedes of Lynnwood took our vehicle for an oil change. They called us and told us some other repair needed to be done and they needed to put in a new battery in because our has died (in their care). We drove the car there, the battery was just fine. Three days later, I called to ask them about the battery and was told by ************** would get a call back the next day. Needless to say, I never got a call back about the battery and I never got a call to pick up the car and two weeks have passed since we dropped it off. Today I drove over there, saw my car and saw its been destroyed! The tailgate has a big dent in it and the car is scratched so bad, the paint has chipped off. When we're they going to tell me about this? This whole time I've been without a vehicle!Business response

Hello,
This complaint still has not been resolved. They still have my car. They tried to have thier guy come fix it and he did not fix it well. There is still a visible dent on the tailgate and scratches. They are now telling us to pay our bill to get our car back, but we can't because it has not been repaired from the damage they did to it.
Respectfully,
***************************

I purchased my Mercedes in September at Lynnwood Mercedes dealership. I started hearing a strange noise when I back up at the end of October but didnt know what it was. I continued to notice the sound and the sound would not go away so I decided to take it in to the dealership in February for them to inspect and let me know where the sound was coming from. The Mercedes dealership mechanic I spoke with said it was coming from the right rear brakes and that the brakes had been recently upgraded and had been pre inspected by them before I purchased the vehicle, and I would also have to pay for it to be fixed because there is no warranty for brake repairs.I went to speak with the shop supervisor or manager whose name is ******. And I let him know what my problem was. ****** stated that Im probably not braking hard enough and to try and do that then come back in a week. I came back in a week and talked with ****** again and let him know the problem is still there. ****** decided to test drive the vehicle and then stated he noticed the problem and said he would talk in the upper management meeting and call me back the next day. ****** stated what he discussed in the meeting, and they decided I would have to pay half for repairs. I let him know that this problem came after the upgrade of the brakes, and I shouldnt have to pay half for the repairs. ****** replied Im sorry, but we can only pay half for the repairs. I feel that this is a disservice based on them admitting to sharing the cost and by me being a woman that ** being taking advantage of. I like most people to hold Mercedes to the highest regard of excellence and for them to service their customers like they did me is unbecoming of their standards. I write to you BBB and sincerely hope that you can assist me with this issue.Business response

***************,
Let me first start off by saying there is nothing mechanically wrong with your vehicle. The breaks are not worn or damaged. Unfortunately, in reverse they can make a squealing noise. Mercedes-Benz *** have an updated part number, but it doesnt not fix the issue entirely.Since this issue is based on an annoying noise and not a safety concern we offered to split the cost of the replacement with you. We stand by this offer and it has not changed at all. Please reach back out to us if you want to complete the repairs.Customer response

Complaint: 19907302
I am rejecting this response because:Hello my complaint is still unresolved due to Mercedes dealerdhip not taking responsibility in sale of vehicle knowingly that had performed brake update issues and now putting the cost on the consumer. I will like in writing details of work performed to my vehicle before purchase. I look forward to hearing from you. Thanks
Sincerely,

1. I gave a cashiers check for the purchase of my car yesterday. The issuing bank guarantees funds in a cashiers check. The dealer did not release the vehicle to me and said I had to wait 10 days to collect my vehicle. I called Mercedes ************* dealer and they said upon a cashier's check they release the car to the customer immediately. I would like ******************** to intervene for a resolution.2. The salesman ***** is extremely unprofessional.Business response

On 6/1/2022 ************************** presented our dealership with a bank draft from Gesa ******************* **** drafts are not the same as a cashiers check as they have a lien attached to them. With this lien, there is a perfecting process and the dealership has a wait time before we know if the check is actually cleared with clients financial institution. Due to this wait time, as a dealership policy, we offer our clients 2 different options. They can contract with the dealership on a back-up contract with one of the dealerships financial institutions. This option insures the dealership will be funded in case clients bank draft has any issues while they are driving our car. Or, the second option is the one ************************** chose, which was to leave the car with us until we had confirmation of the ********* draft being cleared.
This is Mercedes Benz of Lynnwoods store policy that we do not deviate from unless we are presented with an actual cashiers check with no lien attached that is verified with said financial institution.Customer response

I am rejecting this response because: I just checked with ****************** They verified it is not a bank draft but a cashier check. Here's the response9:54 AM (58 minutes ago)
Any check that we issue out for a loan will have a lien stamp out the back to ensure that we get the title. It is still a cashier check but with the lien endorsement.

****************Per Gesa this is a cashier check in which funds are guaranteed. I called Mercedes ******** dealer they said they will release vehicle upon cashier check. They will call the bank and verify funds. Why is Lynnwood dealer not calling Gesa to verify funds?? This is not acceptable to me. I purchased and fully paid for a product but I cannot have it ....
