I scheduled service on Dec 4th 10:30am to have the 2 front tires balanced fter arrival I asked to have the rear drivers side tail light replaced. When I came to pick up the vehicle I was told they couldn't fix the issues with my tail light, saying I needed a whole new assembly. I was charged $47.95 for Pomp Tires to take it upon themselves to charge me for services I didn't ask for. I was told my tail light wasn't fixed and I could purchase a new assembly for $294

-Company: Pomp's Tire Services, ***** Date: July 2024 - Amount Paid: $600/$700 - Location: ******************************************* - Issue: Car repair was not completed, and in addition damage was done to my car. The shop said that they would pay for the damage they caused, but they will not refund me despite not fixing the issue with my vehicle

She knew when the car left it needed more work to be safe, it was typed on her ticket & I talked t her about the caliper leaking &front end parts, she declined repairs because she said she couldnt afford it right now.

I told her it was still leaking brake fluid and she would have to make sure to watch the fluid level so the brakes would work but not to drive until she had it repair.

We had the car repaired at a body shop she wanted it to go to from the damage to the hood & grill at our cost

I thought it was done and completed.

Date of transactions: 7/28/2023 & 8/5/2024 Money spent: $1387.62. I'm seeking compensation or replacement for tires I purchased including taxes and parts. Estimated total being 1135. Pomps agreed to provide me with all the information I needed to make an informed purchase regarding my tires. Pomps is stating that 3 out of 4 of my tires need replacing. This is based off a vehicle inspection form I received from them yesterday 8/5/2024 due to an alignment issue. Alignment should be done at the time of when new tires are purchased based on your pervious tires wear patterns. This was never explained to me at the time I purchased my tires in 7/2023. I've attached the receipt and vehicle inspection form showing that nowhere was it indicated an Alignment should be done. Now, 1 year later, Pomps is saying that my front left (2/10 tread depth) front right tire(4/10 tread depth) and rear right tire (3/10 tread depth) show lack of rotation or Alignment issue. The tread depth numbers indicate my tires need replacing after 1 year. This is unacceptable in every aspect. I'm asking the tires be replaced free of charge due to incompetence by not explaining the importance of an Alignment is when new tires are purchased. I will also be uploading all service documents showing there was zero indication that an Alignment was needed. Pomps said nothing when I expressed my concern yesterday about my tires only being 1 year old. Rather, they asked if I had an alignment done at the time I purchased my tires. I said I didn't recall and the lady said she'd look it up to see if I did. When I picked up my vehicle yesterday she hand wrote in a quote for an alignment. This has been one of the worst experiences I've ever had and I've spent thousands of dollars at POMPS. I'm asking for accountability and for them to do the right thing.

To answer back to this complaint is hard to do, due to the fact that the original incident happened over a year ago, and the employee that assisted him at the counter, is no longer working at this location. But it is not a custom for us to tell a customer that an alignment is needed, on a sale of 4 tires, that is a request that we leave up to the customer, to request upon things they notice while operating the vehicle. Unless there is a noticeable wear in the off tires to show an alignment would be needed or there would be loose suspension parts found that would need to be addressed first, then we would have advised an alignment, would have been needed as well. Due to the time frame, we also, can no longer say what the condition of the off tires was. The customer placed over ****** miles on the tires and in that time, frame only came back to us once for tire rotates, that alone can hamper with the tire wear, as well as we found parts within the suspension that are in need of replacement. That also can cause premature wear on tires.  With all of these factors it is hard to fix this in the way the customer would like us to. But if the customer would like to reach out to us personally, we can look into it deeper and see if there would be anything more we can do for him.

    Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

I'm not surprised with this response from pomps. They won't own up to the fact that I SHOULD have been offered an alignment and them saying that's its the customers responsibility to ask for one is abhorrent and bad business. I called around to other local mechanics and all said that an alignment should be done when new tires are purchased. Also- I purchased new tires due to my tread wear being off balanced and that's why they were recommended by Pomps. Based on that, an alignment should have been recommended. I as the customer would not know what to ask for as I'm not the mechanic or expert on the matter. Does is not seem strange to pomps that I need new tires after only one year? No mention of that in their response or apologies for my situation. I refuse to reach out to them. They can call me.

    Regards,
