I delivered 2 pieces of furniture (dining table and buffet) to Another Home and contracted with the owner (*****) that she would accept the 2 pieces for consignment in her business, Another Home. This took place 2 years ago. I checked in with her from time to time to see if she had any offers. One time she said that someone wanted the buffet and that she was dropping off the $400 check the following Saturday. I didn't hear anything so I went by the store and ***** said that the woman didn't show up. I explained to J that she could lower the price but to make sure that she contacted me so that I could pick up the 2 pieces of furniture if and when she decided that they weren't going to sell. I went to the store and talked to ***** and she was sure that the pieces would sell. After a few months, I decided that I would pick up the 2 pieces and put them on consignment at another shop which I had spoken with that was interested in both pieces.***** was clearly having a difficult time and I think she just got overwhelmed and wouldn't answer her phone, the store hours became very erratic and was closed frequently. I left a couple of notes on the store door, tried to call numerous times and never heard anything. There were other people there trying to leave messages on the door also. She had a sign saying "Closed due to COVID" for a long time. Then there was a sign last fall that said "Opening after Holidays." Time went by and for months nothing happened. I saw that the building was up for lease and I contacted the agent. He said that he couldn't let me in the building. He told me that ***** was seriously ill.All I want is to be able to pick up my 2 pieces of furniture. I hope that you can help me solve this issue. I consigned multiple home furnishings with ************************* when I was moving out of ******* she sold most and has not paid me for any. I am owed approximately $1000. Ive called a dozen times before phones were disconnected, emailed another dozen times, and am being ghosted. Our contract stated that she would pay me for what she had sold and I would have the option to pick up items that hadnt sold. The store is closed with items piled to the ceiling and nobody to talk to. I would like to be paid, or minimally to have the opportunity to select liquidated items for an equivalent value.Initial Complaint

I started consigning with Another Home several years ago and never had any issues. Speaking with *****, I knew she had been having some health issues and that her assistant had left and she was having trouble finding good help. Coming out of Covid didnt help as well. I dropped off several items - a painted dining table, two Asian painted night stands, metal Asian lamp with shade, woven rug, red lidded vase, two iron and painted plant stands, a large basket, primitive framed and antique egg crate sometime between March and April of 2022. I have pictures of the items. I also labeled the items with green painters tape with my name to help ***** keep track of the items. I stopped by the store several times over the impeding weeks then months finding it closed during its usual business hours and sometimes a written note left taped to the door. At first I was trying to give ***** some leeway because of her health and help issues. I then tried following up with voice messages and email with no response. Eventually the business phone was disconnected and the the consignment accounts are no longer available for review at my resale web.com. I have not received any kind of communication regarding the closing of the store or the status of my items. The store isnt empty but a new business is now located in one section of the store where consignment items were once dropped off. Im very disappointed that ***** or a representative for *****, hasn't made some kind of an effort to reach out to her consignee clients. I would very much like to retrieve any of my unsold items and be compensated for anything that *** have sold. Health issues aside, complete radio silence from a business owner who whom you trusted with your belongings is completely unacceptable. I just hope that if ***** defaults on her lease that he building owner will somehow allow people to pick up there items. I would appreciate your support in the resolution to this matter.Initial Complaint

I brought 2 large antique armoires and an oak bed to the store for them to sell for me. After they seemingly closed down I finally got in touch with an owner via email. She actually then called me and told me they sold one of my armoires and would venmo me the money. I gave her my venmo address and never saw the money. I would like that money and I just want my other armoire back and my bed. This has been a very frustrating experience. Last time I drove by the store I could see my armoire in their window and I just want to get my property back.Initial Complaint

In May of 2022, I took an expensive reclining couch, a reclining love seat and a black leather recliner to Another Home to sell for a good friend, *************************, who was selling her home following the passing of her husband. I recommended taking her furniture there as I had sold things at AH myself. Her store has been closed and Ive not been able to retrieve Alices furniture. PLEASE HELP!!Initial Complaint

I took in a chair for consignment last fall. The owner priced it and sent me the information via email. I tried to check on progress of sale several times and I had trouble getting a hold of the owner via visiting store, email or by phone. Found out that her father passed away and also her and her daughter contracted *****. She contacted me once in November via a phone call and said she planned on reopening. We winter in ******* for 4 months. I attempted several times to get a hold of her regarding the sale of the chair. Never heard back from her. Since I have been home, I have tried to contact her numerous times by stopping by her closed shop, sending emails, and calling. No response. I have pleaded with her in my attempts to contact her that I just want to get my chair back so I can try and sell it somewhere else. Is there a way you can help me? I am at a loss at what else I can do other than breaking into her shop and reclaiming my chair. Which is not a good plan.Initial Complaint

***** of Another Home told me she sold my ************ style bentwood rocking chair and my share would be $149, and she'd put it in the mail. In spite of numerous emails and many visits to the inexplicably closed store, I never received the check. She also has 4 wood pub chairs with nailheads around the seats, and some smaller pieces of traditional decor. I would estimate the value of the chairs at $100 total but I don't know if she sold them, or the smaller pieces of decor. The emails about the check for $149 were sent on 1/6/22, 1/11/22, 1/14/22/, 9/17/22 after an in person friendly chat at the closed store, when she said again that she would put it in the mail, 10/11/22, 10/30/22 after seeing a closed due to Covid sign on the door, 12/9/22 and 2/2/23. I have photos if needed. I understand the local paper's SOS column featured someone else's complain and was resolved.Initial Complaint

I started a consignment account (****) with this resale store in 2021. Stopped by the store February 2022 and was told by the owner that I should be receiving payment for the sold items very soon. Im still waiting to receive payment. Tried to follow up with owner using email, ******** messenger, phone voice mails and no response received. Stopped by the store several times to find it closed. The business phone number is now disconnected. The consignment accounts are no longer available for status review at myresaleweb.com. I have not received any kind of communication regarding the closing of the store. The store isnt empty either, as I can see from the parking area. I want to collect my owed money and retrieve from the store my unsold items. I appreciate your support in the resolution to this matter.Customer response

In August of 2022 - I entered into a contract with ***** of Another Home Consignment. Following is her first message to me via email. 'Our consignment terms are very straightforwardthe consignment period is 90 days (extendable as necessary) and we split the sale price 50/50. I can hook you up with a mover if you like as well. Of course we can talk about all this in person too. Let me know how this sounds. Ill just need the time you prefer and the address. My cell is ************. I look forward to hearing from you. ***** At the end of August - ***** sent the following: Hi ***--It was very nice meeting you today!
