Horrible service!!!! My child and I had a dental appointment at 7am- 7am is when they open and are staffed. Unfortunately, I was 7 minutes late due to traffic, and was told by the receptionist that there wasnt enough time to get our service completed.She went in to say we could get in but wasnt sure what all would be done with this appointment. There was 0 clarification or consideration. I spoke to a Supervisor which provided a series of excuses and blamed me for the delay, with no attempt to reschedule my appointment. I waited months to be seen as well as took off of work. I understand I was 7 minutes late however Ive never been dismissed or treated so rude by a service professional. Midwest Dental - you lost 2 patients today and many more to come if you continue to service your people in this manner.Review from Susan D

The front office at Midwest Dental *************** ******* are crooks, I have been billed wrong , my insurance was coded wrong and did not pay which resulted in me being released as a patient after many many years. The office manager there wrote me a letter I'm the patient mind you, the office said if I would contact insurance get this paid because they do not have time to work on this claim they said they will not sit on hold to get this paid that I was responsible. So with that I did all the work on the billing and next thing you know i get a email/letter that says I am no longer a patient there and they released me from my dentist who I am thinking has no knowledge of the bad attitude and wrongful treatment of his patient! I since contacted my insurance company and they said the dental office used a wrong code which no longer existed and they put the wrong ***! so my insurance fixed their mistakes and now they will get paid but due to the horrible front office girl I no longer have my most favorite dentist ever!Review from Erica B

I should have switched dentist the minute Mondovi bought out my former dentist of over 25 years. I have been in agony for 10 days due to **************** (******* office) inability to put a filling in correctly. This is the 2nd time that I have been in agony the minute the novacane wore off. Every tooth in my mouth has had work done and I have never been in this much torture well besides the other one she did which resulted in over $1000 and 3 endodentist visit to tell me again a root canal was not necessary. I even expressed my concern about her working on my mouth again to the hygienist during my recent cleaning and I should've went with my gut to not have her touch my teeth. What's worse is the she has done NOTHING to eleviate the pain. Based on a recent emergency visit to another dentist I now understand she put the filling right on top of the nerve, so while a root canal is not necessary (deemed by her and the other dentist in **) I now will have to get one to relieve the pain as I don't know what else to do. Honestly feel like ripping all my teeth out the pain is so bad. Please do not visit this office as this pain has been the worst I have ever experienced. Mouth pain is no joke I would rather have another natural birth. I really don't want anyone to suffer like this it is absolute torture.Review from Alexis S

I'm extremly disappointment in what I have encountered lately with Mondovi Dental in East **********. I have been a long-term patient of Mondovi Dental, formally ********************, (about 9 years.). In the past, I was always treated with the utmost professionalism, never once had a problem and always gave them glowing reviews.Over the past 6 months it has been nothing but **** I had 2 cancelled appointments upon my arrival, treated unprofessionally, no one answers the phone, spoken to rudely and dismissively, being rushed in and out without hearing my concerns etc. They obviously do not care about their patients.Mondovi Dental Response

Set appointment up for July 11. 1 1/2 hour consultation and X-rays. Which by the way the X-ray wings were put in incorrectly and I was asked to bite down. Super painful. I was wondering why the same areas were being done again?? I didn’t say anything just smiled. I was told everything looks good but said I should have my gums flushed out. That was a new one for me. Their first availability was September 22. Over a two month wait. I made the appointment for a teeth cleaning and gum flush. I called back to inform them I only want a teeth cleaning. The receptionist called back left VM to inform me I must have gum flush. I called back two more times informing them I only want a teeth cleaning and they kept telling me I must have gum flushed. The day before they leave me a VM asking if I can come in an hour later. I called back I said sure but want to make it clear I only want a teeth cleaning. This has been going on for two months. I have invested 2 months of my time, incorrect X-rays taken, back and forth phone calls informing I only at this time want a teeth cleaning. The receptionist told me I can not just have a teeth cleaning. I asked are you denying to give me just a teeth cleaning. She said yes because the Dentist felt strongly I need a gum flush and would be putting her license at risk. Also my insurance will cover it. I don’t care about my insurance except your office does trying to upsale me to get insurance money. I wish you could see my smile. My gums are pretty and fine with pretty teeth. It’s insane?? It’s like you just want an oil change and they are demanding you to have another service or they won’t change your oil. I have done lots of research on The Dentist profession. Don’t let them tell you they have to do all these services by law. Not true. They are just trying to upsale you to get all your insurance money. I will be going to the Better Business Bureau and local news. All I wanted was a teeth cleaning…I hated I had I had to leave 2 starMondovi Dental Response

Hi *****, we're sorry to hear there was a misunderstanding. The dentist saw signs of gum disease and prescribed a gum flush because that would prevent the progression of this. Completing a normal cleaning is dangerous because it does not prevent gum disease, and it puts the dentist at risk of losing their license for something called supervised neglect. Worst dental practice! Mondovi bought out a very successful private practice in ***** , **. For the past 18 months they have lost all their original staff. They have cancelled all dental cleanings for everyone I know, they never answer their phone, they schedule and cancel scheduled procedures and refuse to release dental records. They bill the customer and also get paid by insurance and it takes months and the customer calling mondovi corp to get any type of a resolution.Mondovi Dental Response

Midwest Dental was acquired by Smile Brands 12/20, but they don’t want the public to know that for some reason (there’s a public announcement). Billed our insurance a higher amount than what was on our daughters billing statement. Then gave me a dismissal letter from the “CEO”, but he’s not the CEO of Smile Brands, he’s the VP of Clinical Support. It’s a shame the Midwest Dental wanted to engage in questionable billing after being a patient there for 20 years. Additionally, they were charging Delta Dental patients $12 PPE fees when they had a legal contract with Delta Dental saying they would waive that fee. Our local office became upset when I found this contract and brought it to their attention.Mondovi Dental Response

My son is 27 and started going to a local dentist on my own recommendation. When the dentist retired, the practice was taken over by Mondovi. Now I've gotten three bills from them for my adult son's appointment. He thinks he paid the bill but keeps forgetting to check on it. I've heard terrible things about Mondovi, so I shouldn't be surprised that they'd bill a grown man's mother just to get cash that they might not even have owed to them. By the way, they also have "quick pay" all over the bill, with various ways to pay the bill quickly. Yeah, before you realize it's not even your bill, they probably hope. One other complaint and that is to the BBB, which has become notoriously generous towards companies with its ratings. ******* has a rating of 1.08 out of 5, yet it has an A- BBB rating. Why???? A review rating that low should bring their rating down to at least a B, and that's assuming all else is excellent.Mondovi Dental Response

My apologies that mom was receiving statements for her adult child. I believe the confusion comes in when adult children are covered on a parent's health insurance until age 26. The adult child should have been placed on his own account at age 18 but wasn't. This has been rectified and the adult child will now be billed. Thank you.Review from Eliz F

Merit Dental in ************, **** sends incorrect bills to former patients. We have not visited the practice for at least a year and a half (the quality of care dropped significantly when the former dentists sold their practice). In January 2023, we received a bill with no DOS, no name of the patient and what services were for. I called and was told that due to their error, they never submitted the claim to our former dental insurance. They told me they "would write it off" as it was their mistake. I even called the Mondovi, WI headquarters and was told the same response. Now in March 2023, I get another bill for the same thing (no date of service, no name of patient and what services were for). I have called the AG Office in ******** as I am concerned there billing practices aren't ethical. I think it's likely they forgot to bill our insurance and now are coming after people for their mistakes. Beware and don't get services done from this practice!!!Mondovi Dental Response

Our District Manager called the customer to apologize and let her know that her account balance had been adjusted off. The insurance claim had not been followed up due to Covid.
