I had jury duty on 12/4/23 downtown *****************; I parked my car where I saw others parked. Around 11AM, I came name to my car for lunch break until 1PM then I went back in. Finally, jury duty let me go around 4:15PM. When I got to the parking lot I couldnt find my car, I saw a lady seating in her car, and I ask her, she told me they just towed your car a few minutes ago . A passerby saw me and offered to take me to where the location of tow company. When I got there it was already 4:30PM, they wanted me to pay $285.94 cash before 5PM; otherwise it would be an extra $50 fee. They refused to take check, Debit, Credit Card. I said to the lady, you have my car, how am I supposed to go get cash? Why can I pay with my debit or check? The lady (******) stated all she can tell me is that there is an atm machine a mile from this location, you can go there to get the money. She also stated she would wait until 5:30PM before she added the additional $50. I was forced to pay with cash; otherwise, they wouldnt have released my car. There should not be any business in this country telling customers that they dont accept any other form of payment except cash especially when the receipt provided says otherwise.Business response

We understand the inconvenience of having a vehicle towed. However, the property owner requested the removal of the vehicle from their property as it was illegally parked, with posted signs at ************. The vehicle was logged with 911 as an illegally parked vehicle that was being towed. Unfortunately, payment method for illegally parked vehicles is cash only. If ****************** had called prior to arriving, he would have been advised of this procedure. We did provide assistance beyond our office hours, as we remained in the office to accommodate him, without further fees so that he could get his vehicle. We also require proof of insurance. ****************** did not have it readily available. In an effort to accommodate him, we had him provide a picture of his insurance to our alternate phone contact and we took the liberty of getting it printed out for him.Initial Complaint

******************* vehicle was towed for violating parking rules of her apartment complex. ********************** has signed a towing contract with us to monitor their parking issues. Vehicles are towed away in one of two ways - they are either called in by the management office or our drivers perform interval drive throughs to check for parking violations in accordance with our contract. Having your vehicle towed away is not a pleasant experience. Lets face it, you come outside to get in your vehicle to see that it's no longer where you left it. I can count on one hand in twenty years the number of people that are happy that their vehicle has been towed and now have to pay a fine to retrieve it. That being said, when people come to retrieve their vehicle they are not in a happy disposition. We are sorry to hear that *************** felt that staff was rude but more often than not, it is just that staff is matter of fact and to the point. In many cases, most people have some reason that they violated the rules and think that the excuse should be reason enough to not have to pay their bill or pay a reduced bill and unfortunately that is not the case. *************** was charged ****** in accordance with St. Lucie ********************** private property towing rates and was required to show proof of insurance prior to driving off the storage lot.Customer response

I am rejecting this response because:
The towing people arent being honest they were extremely rude to my husband when he called and was even more rude when I called. yes I wasn't happy that my car was towed from where I reside but that wasnt that case here. I called and asked questions and the main question was if I can sign a power of attorney paper for my husband to pick the car up because they close at 5 and i get off work at 5 and they told me no I have to pick the car up because its in my name which I new was false so I asked to speak to the manager and the employee I spoke to asked me why so she can tell you the same thing I just told you with a rude attitude, and I said yes. then She proceeds to says well good luck before giving the phone to the manger. When I spoke to the Manager and told her the woman I spoke to was being rude the manager got hostile with me as well. This place is very unprofessional, the staff is very rude and they are money hungry thieves my car has not been there for 48 hours but I had to pay for 2 days of storage. Im not the only one that came up there saying how all of the people that work there is rude and extremely unprofessional. Look at the reviews from BBB and ****** as well these people are liars.
Sincerely,
***********************Initial Complaint

The company was extremely rude I was met with being assaulted by def. The little bouncer put his hands on me, I had no idea I was doing anything wrong cause I never been there before. Then my POA was refused because they said they couldn't except electronic signatures which is not true ******* law states the Electronic Signatures on my POA are legal and 100% legit and can't be rejected according to ******* law. Then they pushed my ID and paperwork through a hole in the door and onto the ground I'm a 100% disabled veteran and I am now laid up in bed because their actions led to me having to aggravate my injuries.Initial Complaint

My 16'x7' storage trailer was stolen from a private storage facility in **********, ** on 3/8/23 @ 4am. *************************** found it at ********************** at 8am on 3/8/23 and called Tri County Towing to remove my trailer to their storage lot. I realized my trailer was missing at 10:30am on 3/8/23 and called *** police and filed a report with ******** tag number. I have proof that Tri County Towing did a *** search on 8/9/23 and it came up as "stolen" per the *** number. I received a call from *** **************** on 3/28/23 @ 7:40pm that they located my trailer and to call St. ************************ who referred me to call Tri County Towing. I was told by TCT to come to their facility in the morning to retrieve my trailer and would NOT give me a cost over the phone. I went to TCT on 3/29/23 @ 10am and was told that to find out what the charges (to get my stolen trailer) I would have to purchase ** tags and registration for my newly purchased trailer. I returned with all the proper paperwork and waited another 2 hrs for an invoice and then left. I still have no invoice but at $86 @ day storage and $250? towing and other fees it will cost me the trailers value to get MY stolen trailer back? Why do I have to pay "storage" fees for 20+ days when TCT knew it was stolen on 3/8/23?? The *** Sheriff's report has the *** and tag number! This could have been resolved on 3/8/23 but TCT knowingly kept the info from Law enforcement and the rightful owner.Initial Complaint

On April 3rd 2023, I was sent to the ** by my doctor. When I arrived at ****************** I ended up having to park next door in the Lawnwood Physician's offices for patients. I didn't see a tow away sign and I wasn't parked in any reserved parking space. I ended up being admitted to the hospital, and was released a day later than planned (April 5, 2023). I came out of the hospital, and unbeknownst to me, my car had been towed. Once you are admitted to the hospital, you cannot leave the building. So, even if I had thought about my parking situation, I wouldn't have been able to move it. They charged me $307 and some change to release my vehicle back to me. I was unfairly charged for something that was beyond my control. This was an emergency situation in which I ended up being admitted to the hospital.Initial Complaint

I recently tried to renew my vehicle registration found out I could not do so due to a lien from TCT. I traded in my old vehicle to the dealership back in March of 2021. I have the buyers receipt which assigns all rights, titles, and interests to the dealership upon purchase. The vehicle was sold at an auction by *****************. TCT was the company who picked up the vehicle. The date of the lien was July of 2021.I can understand why TCT charged me with the fine and originally put the lien in my name. The didn't know the background. I contacted TCT in order to work out the logistics of this issue. I have a buyers trade-in receipt which relinquishes me of responsibility and legally removed me from a lien. Every person I spoke to was incredibly rude, disrespectful, and unknowledgeable of how the legal process works. The owner told me he would hang up on me for being such a b." I asked for a digital receipt that I could take to the dealership and he told me he was too busy to send those documents. After the situation was explained, the owner told me he still would not remove my lien unless I paid him the $800. He did not care it illegal blackmail. The Director of Titles/Registration at the dealership became involved. She attempted to speak to Tri-County Towing on multiple different occasions, throughout a series of days. The owner didnt care about the legal buyers receipt and was screaming in the background that I was responsible. The Director of Titles/Registration sent this information to the **** which removed the illegal lien from my name and allowed me to renew my registration. They attempted to blackmail me into payment, even after proof of relinquishment was shown, they were unwilling to remove the lien. They are selfish, unprofessional, and unhinged. The dealership has started a complaint against the company and I have already filed a complaint through multiple different outlets, including BBB, *******, ******* Attorney General, and others.Initial Complaint

My vehicle has been at this place for over a month. *** tried to get it towed out of there twice, every time Ive tried they come up with new requirements. I live all the way in ********* ** and they are making it very difficult on me to release my car. My bank called me and gave the the ultimatum of either they go pick it up or the insurance goes to pick it up. They asked the driver for proof of insurance and business/drivers license. He provided all three but they would not accept the business license as it was on the dashboard of his vehicle. They keep adding requirements for the car to be released every time I comply with the ones before. Unbelievable and unacceptable.Business response
