Horrible company. They told me they couldn't help me (verbally) 3 years ago, subsequently, I have been handling my tax situation with the ****** ** ********* myself. This year was no different except that O'Connor is trying to bill me for my own efforts. You try to explain it to them and they don't care. Their so called customer service is in India and they care even less. They continue to bill me for services NOT rendered. **** ********

Back in 2020, I responded to a inquiry for a property tax reduction add from O'Connor Property Tax Reduction Experts. I asked what the fees would be and what was required to get started. They gave me a price of 500.00 and complete a multi-page form with required photos of interior and exterior of home. After receiving the information, I decided not to follow through with their company. Now going forward to 7/2024, I am receiving emails from them with a digital signature stating that I signed up on 05/09/2020. Which I never would have given them an open clause agreement without an end date, so this is a fraudulent digital signature. Then O'Connor emails me a bill for $219.40, for services rendered. This is fraud and I never have spoken to a represenative, never agreed for them to represent me, never exchanged their original sign up fee, never submitted any of my homes information.

We apologize for the miscommunication regarding our representation. Our records indicate the client gave us electronic authorization to represent them in the property tax appeal process and we were successful by achieving a reduction in property taxes for 2024. Due to the compliant, we have inactivated the service and waived the invoice. It is never our business practice to fraud property owners or provide service without consent. I sincerely regret this issue and will look further into our business processes for improvement.

I used O’Connor back in 2022. They saved me a total of $200 and I had to pay them $100 for their service. A couple of days ago I received a bill from them for 2024. I called O’Connor and the agent, who claimed her name was Irene Abigail, said that I signed a form stating that I gave them permission to assess my taxes every year. I asked her to forward me my signature on said form. When I received the email, the signature was a standard “computer generated signature”. I advised her that I always do my own signature. She then told me to check the IP Address that was used to sign the document. When I checked the IP Address, it was a fake IP Address that was added to this form. The IP Address didn’t even have the correct number of numerals in it. I advised the agent that they were scamming me and that I would be reporting them. I told her I wasn’t paying the scam bill and to deactivate my scam account.

I am sorry to hear that your experience with our company did not meet your expectations. I want you to know that we appreciate your feedback. We are reviewing our signature process to determine the errors that were made. We have also inactivated your account and waived the 2024 invoice. We are truly sorry for this issue.

Client Name: Olanrewaju ********* Client Number: ********** ******** Phone Number: *** *** ****  1. I protested my property appraisal using the Appraisal District's online process. 2. Appraisal District gave me a settlement offer. I had the option to accept the offer or appear before an Appraisal Review Board (ARB) to argue for a better offer/ reduction in appraised value. 3. I went to O'Connor and told them I already had settlement offers, and that I wanted them to represent me at the ARB meetings to see if they could get further reductions. O'Connor invoices for 50% of any tax reductions they are able to obtain. I was told by representative they would notify me if there is a possible reduction. 4. O'Connor claims they presented my case at the ARB, but they were unable to obtain any additional reductions beyond the settlement offer I had already received. 5. O'Connor has now invoiced me for the reduction that I had been offered by the Appraisal District through the online process I went through. 6. Contested billing on 8/8/23 via email with no reply to contest. Invoices continue to accrue interest. * Unethical practices and poor customer service. I have received MULTIPLE letters and have attempted TWICE to resolve this. Someone, not me, signed up using an email that I NEVER EVER use to contract property tax advice from these on my behalf. It is a scam. My son is an attorney and I did not need anyone's help regarding my property taxes. If I had asked for help, I would have paid. Someone from somewhere used an email that is not mine to 'sign' papers saying I needed their help. This is fraud if you ask me. If you cannot help me solve this, I will be seeking legal help, my son or someone else to rectify this. I pay my bills, all of them, if they are my bills. But I did not ask for their service and I do not believe they provided any for me (I had to miss my hearing and my taxes did not go down, which is fine, that is on me). Can you please help me rectify this? I did not provide my real email because I do not want them to have access to the email that I use. The email they used to sign me up was an att account that I was required to get when I got my internet. I have had the email for 10 years and NEVER once even opened it. I don't even know the password and I do not use it for anything. I use my personal or buisness emails for everything. This is why I believe it to be fraud. Thank you for any help you can provide. They say I owe 196.24

This message is in response to the complaint filed by Ms. ****** disputing the services for the property **** ***** ****** Dr in Tarrant County. We received documents for our services 5/14/2023 with the attached photos. We also received a property survey with an opinion of value and remarks for issues regarding the property. We were successful in getting a reduction for the 2023 value of the home in which an invoice was generated. The Tarrant County Appraisal District valued her home at $333,296 before we successfully reduced the value to $319,992. We apologize about the inconvenience caused and have tried to reach Ms. ****** at the number we have on file to further assist and research this issue, but were not successful. So that I can further assist she may reach me directly at (***) ***-****.

Account number: ******* Address: **** ****** CV, San Antonio, Texas, *****  No information was provided on the case. Please send the entire protest file. other houses comparison, everything submitted to sustain the case. Why was my home value evaluated at $543,00 when no homes in the neighborhood was sold at this price per square feet? My house is listed for sale for more than 90 days for a lower price and we received no offers. Not only that, why is O'connor charging me fees prior to when my tax payment is due? When is my next tax due? Why I am being charged upfront? Where is that written? Terrible customer service. I stayed on the phone today (2/9/24) at 2pm ET for more than 30 minutes and nobody could answer any questions and I couldn't even talk to the supervisor. Horrible service, customer service, experience and care. would not recommend their services to anyone.

This message is in response to the 2023 invoice dispute for the property located at **** ****** **** in Bexar County. Mr. ********* signed up for protest services February 2023. We were successful in reducing the notice value from $556,560 down to $543,000. As noticed in the agreement signed by Mr. *********, “Beginning thirty days after the invoice date, you agree to pay interest on any unpaid balance at a rate equal to the lesser of the maximum lawful interest rate allowed by applicable Texas law or eighteen percent per annum (pre-judgement and post-judgement), compounded annually”.

The Bexar County Appraisal District assessed his home at $556,560 but we were successful in reducing the value down to $543,000. Unfortunately, we do our best to get every client a reduction, but it is not a guarantee. The Appraisal District determines the final value. After reviewing Mr. *********’s hearing file there were similar sales for comparable properties to his that sold from $585K - $610K. The Tax Assessor’s office determine when the taxes are due and he would need to contact them to confirm the due date. We apologize about the inconvenience caused and the experience he had with our company. I have attached all pertinent documents to support my findings and support the invoice Mr. ********* has paid.

I learned they are not the best of companies to deal with. After contacting them to contest my property taxes, I found out they were not a good company and there are much better companies out there. I told them repeatedly to stop contacting me. I realized they were a substandard company when my phone would not ring but I had a voice mail from them. The news reported that we should avoid companies that do that at all costs. Definitely tell them I filed this complaint and show them my complaint.

On August 17, 2023 I mailed a check for $18.17 to O'Connor & Associates. About a week after mailing this check, I get alerted by my bank that someone has washed the check and tried to buy a Mercedes for $14,210.00. Our mailbox from which I mailed the check from was never broken into so I am left to assume that either the O'Connor & Associates mail box was broken into or that someone within the company is fraudulently washing checks. I initially contacted Dean ****** at Customer Support and it has been over 3-months and I have not heard anything from O'Connor & Associates except when I am emailed Dean again on November 20th I was given a brief and dismissive email. I emailed him again and still I have not heard anything from anyone in the company; especially, "the appropriate team" Dean mentioned. What I want is to hear from this "appropriate team" that I have waited over three months to hear from regarding this check fraud issue with O'Connor & Associates.

This message is in response to the complaint filed by James ***** regarding fraudulent check activity. Unfortunately, we apologize for the inconvenience in the delay to resolve this matter.  When you mailed your payment to our lockbox it goes through the postal system and we suspect that in this process fraudulent activity has occurred. We encourage you to contact your bank to inform them of the fraud and we advise you to file a police report with your local police department. We also encourage you to file a complaint with the USPO Inspector General on their website or via phone.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.

I am not satisfied with the answer from O'Connor & Associates because they are offering no other information except pointing the finger at the USPS. If O'Connor & Associates wants to keep my business then they need to find an employee who isn't too lazy to call me about this problem because I have been waiting for over three months now! What kind of customer service is this? At least I see why O'Connor & Associates has a "F" rating with the BBB. If I don't hear from anyone by the close of this week, I am taking my business elsewhere.

    Regards,

I asked them to look at my 2022 taxes to see if they could save any money. They told me they could not, so I never corresponded again. However, I get a bill from them a year later stating they had saved me money on my 2023 taxes. I did not ask them to do this and told them I would not pay the bill, They continue to bill me and they are increasing the bill amount.

This message is in response to the complaint filed by Jill Stegall regarding the property tax services for the property at *** ****** ****** Rd in Harris County. For the tax year 2022, we filed a timely protest and were not successful in reducing the appraised value of the home. On steps 5 and 9 of the Appointment of Agent form authorizing us as her agent there was no end date provided so the service was reoccurring. Due to this we filed a protest for 2023 and were successful in reducing the value from $346,469 to $335,000 resulting in tax savings and invoice *********. Please see the attached documents to support the findings, we have also regenerated a new invoice to include the over-65 exemption per the signed Agreement.

Without my consent, Patrick Oconnor and Associates kept filing a protest the tax of my property even when the property was sold and now wants to collect fees. The fees are for 2017, 2018, 2020, 2021, and amount to $483.34 including the late fees. Since all these were done without my consent and even in the year I sold my property, I feel their operation is deceiving and tantamount criminal.

This message is in response to the complaint filed by Sang Lee regarding the invoices for 2017-2021. The client signed up for services for the property ***** *** ******* ** in Bexar County. We represented the client by filing a timely protest and receiving a reduction in the value for 2017-2021. In an effort to resolve this matter in good faith we will waive the 2021 invoice due to the client selling the property. Please see the attached invoices and supporting documents.
