I have outstanding ezpassny toll violations id like to resolve but the phones are insufficiently staffed. I have waited 49 minutes, 25 minutes and one hour with no result. I do not have an account number as I do not have any of their letters supposedly sent to me. There is no email address that I can find, and no other information except the license plate number which is ********. I need your help.Customer response

Hi,I recently visited the *** and was notified that I have an outstanding balance from ******, which has been forwarded to PAM LLC for collection. However, I have been trying to get in touch with someone at PAM LLC for clarification and payment options, but my attempts have been unsuccessful.I have called multiple times, waiting on hold for over an hour or two, yet no one answers. Additionally, the website does not provide any contact options to reach the business directly. I find it Unprofessioanl to make people wait or not give them any options to contact the business directly!!! This has made the process incredibly difficult and frustrating.I would appreciate any guidance on how I can properly address this matter, as it is currently impossible to reach anyone through the available channels. I am filing this complaint regarding an ongoing issue with EZ Pass MA, the ***, and the collections agency that has caused significant confusion, stress, and potential consequences for my ability to operate a vehicle in **************I recently received a notice from EZ Pass MA stating that my debts have gone into collections and that my "right to operate a vehicle in MA has been revoked." This came as a complete surprise to me, as I was unaware of any outstanding charges. The location where these charges are reportedly coming from has caused this issue, and I had no knowledge that these charges were accumulating on my account.I have made multiple attempts to resolve this situation:I contacted EZ Pass MA several times but was placed on hold for over two hours each time without receiving any assistance.I reached out to the **** and they confirmed that I am in good standing and there is no record of any issues with my account.I have also tried to contact the collections agency, but they do not respond to my inquiries, and I am subjected to excessively long wait times (more than two hours), far beyond the quoted time.The lack of communication and resolution is causing me significant distress, as I fear this situation may escalate, leading to the loss of my license or further damage to my ability to drive in *************. Despite my best efforts, no one from EZ Pass MA, the ***, or the collections agency has been able to provide me with any clarity or assistance regarding this matter.I am requesting that the BBB help facilitate communication and resolution of this issue, so that I can clear my debts and restore my right to operate a vehicle in **************Thank you for your time and attention to this matter. It is in regards to a delinquent payment to the ***************************** (****) in the amount of $80.62 for license plate number ******* / **. I am filing a complaint against PAM Collections regarding incorrect toll charges and failure to notify me of any outstanding balance. I paid over $2,000 in 2024 to settle my EZPass account, and I was not informed that any charges had gone into collections.When attempting to renew my registration, I discovered PAM Collections claims I owe $480, but they have an incorrect address on file. I moved in May 2024 and was advised by the *** to wait until my renewal to update my address because it was less than a year away. I updated my address with the postal service, but I never received any communication from PAM regarding outstanding tolls.PAM Collections is claiming I owe money for tolls I did not incur, as I havent driven my car since May 2024. *** requested an itemized receipt to verify these charges, but have received no response. Additionally, I will not pay for any fees beyond the toll amounts, as I was never notified of such charges.I request the Better Business Bureau investigate this issue and assist in resolving it. Its unacceptable to be asked to pay for charges I was never notified about and were sent to collections without my knowledge.Business response

I have been trying to contact this business by phone for the PAST WEEK. I contacted EZ Pass, and they gave me the number of this collection agency. I am trying to pay my supposed amount owed, but at this point, I have been calling and trying to contact them for a second "violation" and no answers. I have called them 5 times today, each time they say they have a high volume of callers. I have been on hold 5 times, for at least 30 minutes. This is a waste of time. I am worried I am going to get charged more if I don't receive more information. This is worrisome and seems like a scam.Business response

Have been sent multiple letters stating toll violations by New York State to which I have never been the license plate is one I have never had in my name which they only give 4 characters XM2H 06/29/24 at 8:14pm for $63.60 now have a collections letter from PAM professional account management I live in ******* and this is beginning to get down right annoying and want it to stop.Business response

I received a letter from PAM dated 12/31/24 stating that they are a collection agency attempting to collect on an unpaid toll balance. However, I have proof (attached) that I paid this toll almost a year ago. It started looking into the company and found that Im not the only person to receive a letter trying to collect on charges already paid. It seems to me that they are banking on individuals not having proof of payment so they can collect money not really owed. What a scam! Im afraid theyll try to damage my credit with this so I wanted to a file a complaint to get ahead of it.Business response

On 1/24/2025 I received a "Notice of Assignment to a ****************** letter from PAM stating that I owed $44 in fees which were incurred on 5/2/2022, nearly three years prior. Regarding these fees, I have received no prior fee notices of these violations. Frankly, I initially thought this was a scam because the company's website does not seem to work and it had been so, so long since the date they are claiming these violations happened. The vehicle in question has also been registered multiple times since then. If I still owed fees from 2022, this would not have been possible. It is egregious that nearly three years later, they would ask for money.I am requesting that these charges be dropped.Business response

Dear Ms. ***************** thank the Better Business Bureau (BBB) for the opportunity to investigate and respond to complaint number # ********. We understand the consumers concerns regarding a business matter placed with our office. We take the consumers concerns seriously and provide the following response.
Our client placed two accounts with our office on October 30, 2024. Our office mailed an initial notice to the consumer on December 19, 2024, to alert him of these placements.
The accounts and fees were not issued by our office. Instead, the accounts were issued by our client, operating under applicable state law. Our client mailed notices to the consumer and provided them an opportunity to dispute and appeal the accounts before they were placed with our office. While we understand the consumers dispute, supporting documentation is required to further process the concerns. Should the consumer have proof that these accounts were previously paid, we will need copies of the front/back of the checks and/or bank statements reflecting the payment was made to our client. Once this documentation is received, we would be happy to review the information with our client.
It is important to note, the accounts and associated fees are governed by state law, and our office has no authority to reduce or dismiss them. Due to the concerns listed within the consumers complaint, we have placed your account into a full cease and desist status. Our office will no longer be able to communicate with the consumer regarding the accounts in question unless the consumer first rescinds this request. Please note that this does not reduce,dismiss, or void the balance due with our client.
We agree it is our responsibility to attempt to resolve complaints presented to the BBB. We also understand the BBB may or may not publish the complaint and our responses on the BBBs website. By posting this information on your website, we believe that the BBB has assumed responsibility for protecting the complainants privacy, and non-public information from being viewed by third parties. In addition, there may be other federal and/or state privacy laws that apply to release of information regarding the complainant in question.
