Got my vehicle towed due to no parking. Was told to write a sign on vehicle saying I was allowed to park as I was on the lease. Upon picking up the vehicle from the tow company my property was stolen out of the vehicle. They do not take responsibility for the property that is in there.

Id like to report a business who is committing fraud. I was at Dollar Tree at *************************************************************************** yesterday 3/24/24 for about ten to fifteen minutes and when I came out, my car was towed. I then found out my car was at a towing company called Mr. ** Towing. I went to ask why car was towed and they said because someone reported the car. I paid just to get my car out but went to talk to the dollar tree manager and she said that she never reports any cars. I then see the person who reported the car was a patrol by the name ************************* per the receipt but there is no security that works there. I go on Mr. ** ****** and Yelp reviews and there are hundreds of people that have experienced the same fraud. They commit this fraud in a predominantly ****************** where the people dont know how to report fraud. I tried to report it to the police department but they said I should file a complaint. I am including all receipts that show I was a customer at Dollar Tree, that I paid for the car to be taken out, the reason my car was towed and also the receipt that shows the person who supposedly called the tow truck. Im also including screenshots of only a few of the many reviews of people who have had the same experience. I also encourage you to visit their Yelp and ****** reviews.

Victim of predatory towing by this company. My car wasn't not even parked for 10 minutes and in less time than that they somehow knew to target my car and had it on the tow truck and we're speeding out of the driveway with my car so that I couldn't stop them. They then charge me $310 in excessive fees. A witness saw them carelessly speeding around corners with my vehicle, there are scratches on my car now that we're not previously there.

On 3/16/2024 I was taking my aunt home from the hospital. Shed had surgery and could barely walk and was a fall risk. I took her home to the Park Ave apartments in **********. I parked in the alley with my hazards on to unload her and get her to her door. I parked there as it was the shortest distance to her door, and I had to unload medical equipment for her as well. The alley is about 40 feet across , enough for 4 panes of traffic if needed. with signage that only says no trespassing which I didnt think I was since I was returning my aunt to her home. Plus other cars were parked in the alley too. No later than 5 minutes later I came back out to see my car was gone. After investigating I was informed that my car had been towed all Within 10 minutes of me parking there with absolutely zero warning. I pleaded with the property managers and with the tow truck company itself but there was no sympathy. They finally agreed to take some fees off. When I arrived I pressed them about the medical emergency my aunt had, the fact that she was a resident at that apartment, the fact that there was no warning , no enough signage about towing and that they took it so quickly (within 5-10 minutes). they told me it was going to more expensive since I challenged them and charged me more instead.

    Complaint: 21444645

I am rejecting this response because:

    Sincerely,

    ***************************

The vehicle code which you referred to also states that even on private property, there needs to be a good face inquiry into what business the car youre attempting to tow is engaged in. My car was there for five minutes with the hazard lights on. Ive also got a receipt from the grocery store. I just come from, which is time stamped only 15 minutes before youve towed it. By the time it took me to get from the store to that alley and take my aunt to her door. Theres no time left for any good face inquiry to be conducted. This isnt my interpretation of the law. This is black-and-white.  I understand that youre using the vehicle code as a way to position yourself in a place of authority, but it also is showing how little you adhere to it

Mr. ** towing company drive around the parking lot of La Alameda shopping center looking for cars to tow.My car was parked in the handicapped parking spot. The placard was not visible on rear view mirror. My mom realized realized about *************************************************************** her purse. My mother is an elder disabled women. At that time we immediately returned to the car to make hang it, the car was not in the parking spot that I parked at. There are no signs in the handicap parking spots saying that cars violating parking space would be fined or towed. There are parking spots with a 5 minute parking limit for food delivery services it does say that violators will be towed Other than that there are no viable signs saying customer parking only no parking after business hours it also reads private parking no public parking unauthorized parking will be towed at owners expenseThis is subject as this is a parking lot for a shopping center.By the exit pillars there are signs that say that only customers can park there While I was on the phone calling the towing I saw a tow truck was driving around the parking lot driving through the lanes and then it exited towards the major street. The security guards working there said they dont call to report car violations and that the tow company just goes to tow cars. Other customers also said that they see them towing cars all the time from the parking lot. After reviewing the bill I noticed discrepancies in fees posted the timeline of when the tow was authorized, when the tow was reported, when they completed the tow which conflicts the timeline indicated by my call records to the 911, and the tow company.Requesting further investigation of the companys practice and association to the shopping center La ******* so other customers of do not fall victims of their scam. The yelp reviews for this tow companys unethical towing practices. Please review this company.

I went to dinner with a couple of friends on 12/29/2023, dinner was scheduled for 8:30 at Shakeys. When we came out of Shakeys after dinner my car was gone. I initially thought it was stolen, however, I called the towing company since there were 3 towing trucks in the parking lot and sure enough my car was impounded. I placed the phone call to the towing company at 10:40pm. I went straight to pick up my car and was told my car was towed for parking in private property after hours. My car was towed at 9:40pm and Shakeys closes at 10:30pm and I parked in their designated parking so there is no reason or basis for my vehicle to be removed. This company is predatory given the amount of tow trucks patrolling they area towing cars. I paid $430 for my car to be impounded for just 1 hour. Its just outrageous I would like a refund for this wrongful tow and some justice. If my issue does not get resolved I will have to escalate the issue and hire an attorney.
