Advertised online to appear like it is an IRS site. I needed to get an Employer ID Number. They charged $249 and immediately emailed me several letters asking for more personal information. At this point, I realized it was fraud. This event occured on March 18, 2024. The name of the company says USA Tax ID, but on my credit card, it was billed at BUSINESS TIN.COM.Business response

They appear to look like the IRS and charge you $250. I called in less than a minute after I filed with them and asked to cancel the transaction immediately. They told me they might still charge me 75 bucks. This is free to do directly in the IRS website and this is misleading. I want all of my money back. This all happened this morning today before 9:30 central time I'm at. Today is April 25thBusiness response

On 4/16, I thought I was on the IRS website to get an EIN for a new business. The website indicated that the EIN would be provided in 1-2 business days and I paid the $682 reluctantly and was then asked about adding further protection on a various of other “things that could happen if I didn’t file things correctly”. Additiona money was request making me suspicious. I looked up more information realized that I had entered personal information on a third-party website. I emailed the company for a full refund during the authorization process. my payment had not yet been processed, I revoked authorization within 1 minute of purchase. The company ignored my cancelation request and processed the payment. upon calling I was told there was nothing they could do for me. I never received a EIN however they said they sent it. I then received a follow up email stating 682.00 would be returned. They canceled and would refund the full amount. Only a partial refund of 248.00 was refunded. when I called asking for the remaining 434.00 I was told 248.00 was the full amount even though the email clearly states 682.00 would be refunded. This company is a ****. I have not received any service, EIN or full refund. 434.00 is still due back to me, I followed the companies cancelation policy and should not be financially responsible for their error as I canceled during authorization and received a email from them clearly stating a full refund would be issued.Business response

On 4/23, I thought I was on the IRS website to get an EIN for a new LLC I was going to form. The website indicated that the EIN would be provided in 1-2 business days and I paid the $249 reluctantly. Afterward I looked up more information realized that I had entered personal information on a third-party website. I emailed the company for a full refund as the website mimicked the IRS website and gave information that encouraged people who are trying to start a business and do everything correctly to spend an obscene amount of money on a service that is free. I am requesting a full refund and a guarantee that all of my personal information has been wiped from their database/system. This website is a scam and purposely mimics a federal website, this should be illegal.Business response

This company poses as the IRS and tricks people into thinking they need to pay for an EIN number. After they get you to pay for the EIN number they try to steal more money by saying it’s crucial you pay for an LLC. I stupidly gave them my info as I thought they were the IRS and paid $275 for the EIN number. When I tried to use the EIN number I was told it was invalid. I filed a fraud report with my bank and had to freeze my card and credit reports.Business response

thought I was on actual IRS site did not realized it was not until my bank show BUSINESSTIN as biller for the site. I thought my card info had been fraudulently used. I want to do business with IRS not these people I immediately asked for a refund, the customer service rep said a refund would be issued be he did not have an confirmation number. I have not received the service, and I don't want the service. I want my money refunded. only a min went by from time I pay to i received bank notification and then call their customer service I'm 75 with poor eyesight that make their page look just like IRSBusiness response

This site is the first one that comes up when you search for EIN registration information. When you click on it, IRS also comes up in the website bar. Thought this was a legitimate website and paid for both EIN and LLC after receiving an email saying my EIN wouldn’t work unless I applied for an LLC. Realized after I was ******* and applied for myself on the actual sites. This website didn’t even ask for complete information for registering.Business response

On 3/18/2024, the website showed first on google to pay for the tax ID/EIN for a business. I paid $249 for the service and realized it was a free service through the IRS and immediately applied for that before calling to cancel. When I realized it, I called the number and spoke to the lady who said I would receive an immediate full refund but I have nothing to show that the order was cancelled nor that I was receiving my refund. The order has not even been processed yet and could've just been cancelled at that moment. I want all my personal information wiped from their entire database and not sold to a third party affiliate as I am not granting permission, and I need confirmation to show that they are agreeing to not do to.
