My husband and I park our car at the City Parking garage on 68th Street (*****************). We pay monthly. In October 2021, we noticed our car had been damaged once we were on the road. The sensors were busted in the front and car was beeping all the time. When we got back we mentioned it to the garage attendant and he asked us to file a claim. He also told us not to get any repairs as they would fix it themselves. However, now it has been 4+ months and no one has responded to our claim. We have inquired multiple times but no one is giving us an answer. This is such disappointment and we are ready to pursue legal action but wanted to see if we could resolve in a better way.Customer response

My car was damaged overnight while in this garages care (I am a monthly). I pointed out the damage right away to the manager and he apologized and identified the employee responsible. I will submit a repair estimate, only to whom? The garage provided me with a non-working phone number for claims, said they submitted a claim however I am not allowed to see the claim report, and there is absolutely no response from corporate or anyone on next steps or how I can submit an estimate to fix the damage. I need a responsible party with whom I can correspond while this is sorted out. There has been zero response from the email address provided and the garage would not provide their insurance information either. Radio silence and impossible to contact anyone at corporate. I received a stub from the claim for which they will not let me see, as pictured below, however not much help if I can't get in touch with anyone (which feels intentional by design) Please help!Initial Complaint

I purchased a month parking at this garage in December. I had been parked there for two weeks when I went with my two children on Christmas to get the car they started harassing me to give the 7 employees a holiday tip. I only had $20 and I asked if he wanted $20. He said no because how can he split that with 7 people. I told him that Id only been there 2 weeks and taken the car out 3 times. Why would I give a holiday tip. I decided to pick up my car on Jan.1 to move it to a different garage and request a refund for my unused time. Instead of refunding me they charged me another month. As there was no manager available I had to leave without getting a refund for my unused usage of the garage and then taking another months payment.Initial Complaint

I am a monthly customer at **********************, ********************************************************************. Spot number is 252. My car was picked up on 7/26/22 in the evening with damage to it. I dropped the car off on Tuesday morning 7/26/22 between 8:05-8:25 AM with no damage to the right front bumper of the car. I picked up the car on 7/28/22 between 9:20 and 9:30 PM before exiting the car I did a walk around to assess for damage, I saw damage to the right front bumper, I informed the evening manager of the damage who came over and assessed the damage with two other workers and said he would "take pictures and file a report". The report was filed with the claims department on my end, Claim Number *******. I received an email back on August 11th saying they received the claim and the Estimated wait time for the conclusion of this investigation is 7 to 10 business days however this may vary depending on available resources and evidence collection process. I have emailed them several times to follow up on a resolution. They have responded twice. One on Sep 12th saying the claim is in the middle of being processed, awaiting for the director of operations to be back in office to have claim reviewed. Second email back on October 3rd saying they are short staffed, we should be going over your claim by the end of this week. I sent two more follow up emails since and have not received any response/resolution or compensation. Cost of repair is 2,521.Recently picked up my car on 11/4/22 at 8:14 PM with more additional damage but now to the rear bumper of the car. Parking attendant initially failed to completed and incident report and told me to come back on Monday. So I called 911 to have the police come to make the attendant completed an incident report for this new damage. That claim number is *******. They have also caused other damage to the vehicle that I have not filed complaints about. It has been 3 months and 2 weeks with no resolution to the first incident and now I have additional damage.Customer response

At this time, I have been contacted directly by City Parking regarding complaint ID ********, however my complaint has NOT been resolved because:
[Your Answer Here]
City Parking is claiming they are not responsible for the incident involving my vehicle and therefore, must deny liability based upon the results of there investigation. I believe City parking is 100% responsible for the damage to my car. I know for sure that the car did not have damage to it when I dropped it off in the garage.
In order for the BBB to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above.
Sincerely,

CityParking takes too long to reply to requests through their formal channels. I'm currently awaiting their conclusion of a claim that everyone involved agrees is the responsibility of CityParking to repair. September 19th is the day the damage was done. Claim should have been filed the next day, but the site manager said it had to wait until the end of the long weekend (*************), which I believe caused the lag from Sep 19 to an official filing date of October 1. That alone is bad. Now we're 18 days past the date of the formal claim, and I'm still awaiting their instructions. All they need to do is tell me which bodyshop they want me to take the car to, to replace the passenger side-view mirror that everyone agrees was damaged by a garage attendant. No complaints about the garage staff themselves -- accidents happen! -- but why does it take people in the CityParking office so many weeks to tell me where to take the car for repairs? And are they staffed so lean that they can neither answer their phones nor (after I've emailed them and left a voicemail) pick up their phone and call me back? Sad. Next month's monthly bill is due -- I'm considering withholding payment for as many months as it takes for them to finish the job, but I'd really prefer not to escalate to that +lawyers +small claims court, etc. I just want to fix my car, and I'm trying to follow the guidance they provide, namely "we highly discourage any repairs and purchases until after your claim has been investigated and approved" (from their email confirming receipt of the claim). CityParking, can you please just finish this task?
